In this haunting psychological drama, Samantha finds herself trapped in a labyrinth of dreams where the boundary between sleep and wakefulness blurs beyond recognition. In the wake of her beloved Aunt Flo's death, she descends through layers of consciousness, encountering a mysterious Dream Interpreter, her concerned husband Malcolm, and ancestral figures who hold the keys to family secrets long buried. As Samantha navigates these dreamscapes, she confronts her deepest fears about motherhood, identity, and the inherited trauma that flows through generations of women in her family. Nathan Alan Davis weaves a mesmerizing tale that explores the power of familial bonds, the weight of decisions unmade, and the courage required to face one's true nature.

After the death of her Aunt Flo, Samantha slips into a dreamlike journey that blurs memory, identity, and family secrets. The hour is a surreal exploration of inherited trauma and identity.

The soundscape was incredible; immersive in the best way. The narrators gave fantastic performances that pulled me into the fever-dream energy of the piece. For me, this wasn’t just about grief or dreams. It was about how deeply our choices are shaped by the things we didn’t even realize we carry. Or perhaps, the things we carry without meaning to.

It’s not a book that I’ll carry with me or think about for a long time, but it was an intriguing piece to listen to.

What a fever dream but boy was it interesting. I wonder if what she was dreaming was stress dreams about everything happening around her family, husband and grief. But the ending was ambiguous and I question the end. It was really good.

I'm still trying to process what I just heard. It's an amazing audiobook and there is so much depth in their voices, I loved the theatrics I'm just still processing it and trying to figure out exactly what was happening.

A dream in a dream in a dream. Seemed like a dream, no real direction.

Obsessed with this excellently produced fever dream, and the relationship (husband & wife) at the core of it all.
