"Mrs. Fortune can be easily led to discuss the institution of marriage. She has been heard to say, with a sad, impartial eye upon her husband, that the trials of being married to a small boy are not adequately explained in women's education."
1. The Adventures of the Devil's Foot by Sir Arthur Conan DoyleThanks to Martin Edwards for his informative and helpful introductions prior to each story, providing some background information on the author, the context, and the story's significance. Resorting to Murder: Holiday Mysteries is a delightful book for fans of classic crime fiction. I found this collection accidentally while browsing the Kindle Unlimited lists. Furthermore, this book is part of the British Library Crime Classics series, which has a very good collection of rediscovered and republished forgotten gems of the genre, which I really want to explore.
