Love takes wing faster than a Raven in flight.

The Gray Court, Book 6

Amanda Pierson’s long-overdue holiday at the Dunne farm unexpectedly turns into a working vacation when she’s roped into throwing together a last-minute dream wedding for Michaela Exton and Robin Goodfellow. No biggie for one of the best party planners at Fantasy Events, Inc., right?

Right.

A monkey wrench lands with a thud when the groom’s son—who’s been watching her every move—declares they were meant to be together. Raven Goodfellow is everything she doesn’t want in a lover. Brash, bold and goth. Yet there’s something almost . . . magical about their attraction.

The moment Raven saw Amanda’s picture, he had suspicions. Now that he’s seen her in person, he’s certain. She is his truebond, though it will take a delicate, feather-light touch to bring her into his world.

Love takes wing faster than a bird in flight. But when the Dark Queen sends agents to destroy him, Raven finds himself in a desperate fight to protect all he holds dear . . . or the Dark Queen may succeed where so many others have failed.

Warning: This title contains explicit sex, graphic language, a bachelorette party that ends in jail time, double-dog dares, feathered flirting and wicked intentions.

Never More is the sixth book in Dana Marie Bell’s Gray Court series.

As a favor to a close friend, Amanda Pierson agrees to be the planner for Robin Goodfellow’s wedding. As they tend to do, things quickly go wrong when the groom’s adult son, Raven, takes a shining to her.

The concept behind these characters is fun and I was fairly excited to read this since I had enjoyed Robin’s book and Raven’s role in it. However, this book dragged.

I’m not a huge fan of stories centered on weddings, but I thought I’d be safe with this one since there was the promise of an assassin plot. Unfortunately, the larger concentration was on the wedding and all the characters’ wacky hijinks. This wouldn’t have been so bad if the story didn’t suffer from including nearly every single main character from previous books into the storyline.

It’s usually a problem when romances do this because there’s typically no point to these characters’ inclusion. They don’t drive the plot forward and have no story arc of their own. So, they’re only there to show how deliriously happy they all are and to weigh the plot down. This was the case with this book and it was made worse by the lack of conflict between the main characters. There was a little hemming and hawing by Amanda about her developing relationship with Raven, but nothing that really lasted more than a couple of pages. There’s also very little drama that occurs around the side plot of the Dark Queen wanting to kill Raven. So unfortunately, this book was extremely slow moving.

I also had an issue with the amount of really awful jokes that are peppered throughout the dialog, which had me cringing. At one point the main character asks if Raven is going to stick his jalapeño in her enchilada.

Between the lack of conflict, abundance of side characters and corny jokes, this book wasn’t my cup of tea.

I enjoy the Gray Court series. Bell takes familiar Seelie characters, and then spins them a bit. Leprechauns, fairies, Oberon, Tatiana, and The Hob all have their roles, and within this world she incorporates vampires as a type of Sidhe, sirens, and dragon shifters. And somehow with all that mish mash, she makes it work and weaves it into something really cohesive and interesting. They have action, a story arc that ties it all together, lovely romances, and since these are from Samhain, a rather high steam rating.

Never More is the 6th story in this series and is not remotely a standalone. Honestly, this is the LEAST capable of being a standalone because it is one of those books that serves to bring the entire main cast back together to serve the overall arc, while still giving us a satisfying new romance. But it is a series I recommend to Fae and paranormal romance lovers. It is also a hard one to recommend because I think this series started out a little shaky and then really hit its stride around book 3. Unfortunately this a series that must be read in order. The first two books are by no means bad, I just don't think they adequately show how good this series gets.

As for this story, it features Raven Goodfellow (yes, related to THAT Goodfellow) and Amanda Pierson. Amanda played a pivotal role in the first book but has only been mentioned since then. She is a fire cracker with a penchant for dares and a smart mouthed attitude that I enjoyed tremendously. And in this story we get to see the sweetheart behind the bad-boy image Raven has previously presented to the world. There has been more than one heartbreaking incident in his past, and consider this your trigger warning, because Bell goes to a trope that is only rarely used on male characters. It is neither graphic nor gratuitous, but it is definitely a significant element of this story because it impacts what Raven does. With all the wedding shenanigans and appearances of other characters, the romance is a bit shoehorned in, but lovely nevertheless. I was so glad to see Raven get his happily ever after. And the thing I enjoyed most about this particular story, is how very playful the tone is. Raven has had a hard life but when given the chance and the freedom to play by Amanda, he goes full tilt toward it. This results in a barrage of goofy, groan inducing puns. If you are like me and adore some good groan worthy puns, you'll get a big kick out of it. If you don't you might just find this story "hawkward".

Raven...Raven...Raven. I love the bad boys so Raven has always been a character I wanted to read more about. At the end of Siren's Song his interest in Amanda tickles our interest and we are left wanting to know more. Well, Bell, in her usual manner, does not disappoint. Raven and Amanda together were funny and explosively passionate. The bad boy is felled by a sassy event planner who keeps him on his toes at every turn. Raven sorta/kinda knows that Amanda is his truemate when he sees her photograph in The Hob, but it isn't until he sees her, touches her, and kisses her that he knows for sure. Problem: Amanda is human and has no clue that the Fae world even exists. As Amanda is planning Robin and Michaela's wedding (characters from The Hob), her attraction for Raven grows because he is ever present. Sadly, the courtship between them is not an easy one because Raven has a price on his head. The Dark Queen wants him dead because of his defection to team goodness and light. Fortunately for him he has his father and Liam (who is pretty badass with anything tech) guarding his back and Amanda's too. I love that Amanda is a strong heroine and even though she is thrust in a world she doesn't understand she handles it with great aplomb and as cool as a cucumber. I also appreciate how Bell keeps the series connected by weaving all the characters throughout each book so you can see where they are "after" their story is over. This is an amazing series and I'm going to love to see what Bell has in store for Liam and Melissa (Michaela's sister).

Paranormal romance lovers who appreciate stories about fae, sirens, vampires, dragons, trolls, leprechauns and more...this series has it all! Jump in.

I've been intrigued by Raven's character like forever (or just since his first appearance in "The Hob"). Since then, I was just like, "Can I please read his story now?"

Can't wait!

As soon as Raven Goodfellow sees Amanda in person, he knows that she is his truebond, but the Dark Queen has sent agents out to destroy him and he finds himself in a desperate fight to protect everyone he holds dear in this exciting paranormal romance.

Strong compelling characters with kick ass charismatic personalities demand the reader’s attention while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense, excitement and romance. Amanda and Raven’s attraction to one another burns up the pages and the sex scenes are scorching hot with their relationship progresses at a fast clip during quite a bit of chaos which adds lots of spice to the story while Raven’s past with the Dark Queen causes some turmoil and Amanda having to learn all the secrets that her friends and Raven are keeping adds depth.

Tension and excitement builds throughout the story as the danger escalates from not only obvious attacks but some devious ones as well which makes keeping everyone alive that much harder and anticipation builds as Amanda tries to please the bride and groom and put a kick ass wedding together which adds its own brand of excitement. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life while the well-orchestrated events ensure that there is never a dull moment.

Dana Marie Bell has created a fascinating world of Fae, one full of interesting and different elements, intriguing characters, some fun humorous dialogue and some really cool magic. I was quite caught up in Raven and Amanda’s story from the very beginning despite the fact that I haven’t read the previous books and while there was obviously past events that were referenced, I was able to get the gist of it and continue with my enjoyment of this one, so while I waiting to reading the next one, I will be catching up.

I found this one a bit difficult to get through compared to the rest of the series. I like Raven, he was an interesting character from his introduction and I liked the thought of seeing him get his truebond. But I just wasn't the biggest fan of Amanda. I don't even know what it was, she just didn't feel like a strong enough character (and I mean that as in the strength and depth of her character). I don't know if I'd have preferred a stronger character (like strength in ability) to be his match, or a character to be like sunshine to his grumpy. But she just didn't add anything to this book for me.
I also found the plot quite lackluster as all of these powerful, strategic spy characters being unable to do anything. They reacted to everything, without being able to get ahead of anything. They didn't even best this book's villain so there was no resolution or actual end to the plot. I especially didn't like the end scene of Melissa, it added nothing and it found it really creepy and unnecessary to add.

I really believe you need to have read the previous books to get the best from this series.
We finally get Ravens story and I really loved it.
The humour and play between these two was great.
Ravens Truebond is one amazing human woman Amanda.
Amanda is an event planner and works for Leo who is Ruby’s truebond. Ruby and Amanda are BFF’s and worked together for Leo. Ruby and Leo are the H’s in book one.
Hence needing to read these in order to understand and know these people as we met all three in book one.
Amanda is roped into being Robin and Michaela’s wedding planner.
Of course Raven has an assassin from the Black Court after him which causes problems.
The one thing that bugged me is it was never really proven that Raven was being framed for the murders.

This is easily the third or fourth time that I've read this series. It's funny, sweet, and steamy. Each book features fated mates, adventure, fae/faeries, danger, sweet romance, and steamy moments. I can't wait for Bell to release the next book in the series, but I genuinely don't know when that will be.

She hasn't put out a book since 2019 and it was the start of a new series, not a continuation of her other 4 or 5 series. Hopefully one day soon!!

Good story, thou I sometimes felt the romance part got lost in the story....

I really like this story, though I didn't start at the beginning (book 5 is I started) ( and book 5 is my fave) I don't feel I've really missed anything... I started with book 5 the last book in the series because the plot for it sounded soo very intriguing and it WAS!!! I just adored Cassie and Oberon's story , just the right amount of intrigue and action with out ever losing focus on the couple the story was supposed to be about ( LOVED THAT!), unlike this one where sweet Raven and fierce Amanda's story seemed to often take a back seat to death threats from the Black Queen and his evil half brother ( who we only "see" I once and sadly was left unresolved, left for another day/story ( Raven and Amanda's wedding?) what the did adore and love were a few things one just how sweet and amazingly gentle Raven is ,while fierce and deadly to his enemies nothing but loving and kind to though se he loves ( teasing his Dad's gremlin not counting ;) ) and I loved how fierce Amanda could be and how fun and snarky they were together but she had an uncommon amount of good sense I LOVED about her, whether it's with Aliens or Vampires or shifters even c. We read about TOO many Stupid women who act like they can keep up with the supernatural sand Aliens etc. even thou their only a human and get themselves in trouble constantly and then stay pissed off the male is constantly overprotective of them ( well maybe if you had good sense and realized your not as strong as a Vampire etc. and picked your battles more wisely he wouldn't have to be
Ike that ! :P ) but also the way Amanda soo wisely was there for Raven when it came to his abuse ( part of me wishes Robin knew just bad it was for poor Raven and just badly he was abused and at the same time I don't think it would be fair ( being denied his children and all) and I don't think he could handle knowing)
It hurt my heart, knowing how badly he was mistreated but at the same time it made him a kinder and gentler soul knowing what it does... I kept thinking between him and Leo I'd pick him every time ( sorry Hated book one, I meant Leo was such a Jerk ,never asking ,just taking, and what kinda guys 1st thoughts after your mate comes out of a two day coma is 'Hey let's bind you and blindfold you and full you to the rim with sex toys after a single cup of coffee" ... My reaction is still WTF ?
MS. Bell alwYs seems to add lil bits here and there that work my last nerve but one thing I've loved since I read book 4 when Raven is introduced is Robins deep and abiding love for the son he's just discovered, the hugs, the teasing the kind words ( even in his wedding ceremony ) the fiercely protective attidute ( thou I would have liked to have seen his welcoming his new daughter in law more and had the both called Mate more that lover, I mean binding needed or not aren't they supposed to me "Married" in the Fae world ? Yet instead of Mate their just calling each lover at times... I mean their supposed to be WAY MORE THAN lovers.. And where did they end up ? Are Raven and Ananda living with Robin and Michaela ?
And wY the love shown between robin and his new son Raven was really touching and I love their Father/son relationship...
I'd also love for Robin and Michaela to have at least one child together, a lil girl ( coz we both know she'd have Robin wrapped around her finger before she. Left the womb and it would just be too cool to see a rogue like him be a father to a lil girl especially when she became a teenager ( giggles Robin would be looking for a nunnery to stick her in ;) )
And a sweet but snarky lil boy for Raven and Amanda, a boy for Raven to give the loving childhood he never got himself and a lil grandson for Robin to dote on that he missed out on with Raven..
I think it would be soo awesome to have another lil bird boy for the nest for Robin to love..
One the whole good story, just wish we'd gotten more time with the new couple and them ( especially Amanda integrating into their new lil family) ....
I mean Amanda should have felt more like Family and less like " just the wedding planner"...,
Amanda quickly goes from being just the wedding planner to Robin new daughter in law but it never really felt like it...
She always felt more like a very important employee than family to every one but Raven or a Ruby....

Never More may actually be my favorite of The Gray Court series, or at least it’s in direct contention with The Hob. I loved the banter between Raven and Amanda. From the moment in The Hob that Robin learned that Raven was his son and claimed him as his own, I have been rooting for Raven to find his truebond. Learning of the lies, manipulation, and torture he experienced at the hands of the Black Queen just made it even more important that he find his truebond – that one person created just for him – because it was clear that despite all that he endured, he was a good man. A good man in dire need of love.

With a reputation nearly as terrifying as his father’s, who better to love Raven than a human who has no fear of him because she has no idea of who and what his is? Enter double-dog-daring Amanda. Oh yes that’s her, the lovely Amanda who conspired with Leo to send Ruby his way. Where Ruby is all shy and reserved, Amanda is in your face and brash, which makes her the perfect match for Raven, who we learn has just as sharp of a wit and tongue as she does. But it’s not all fun and games as the two get to know one another because Amanda’s visit to see Ruby has turned into a business trip as she got “volunteered” to plan Robin and Michaela’s wedding. At the same time, Raven is trying to avoid the Black Queen’s assassin, track down a murderer who is attempting to frame him, and prove his innocence so that the White Queen can’t have him executed for said murders of members of the White Court. Not a dull moment to be found.

Once again Bell has crafted a thoroughly enjoyable tale of romance, magic, suspense, humor, and seriously hot sexy fun-times. While I hate the why behind it, I loved that Raven did not rush to mate Amanda. He wanted to get to know her first and make sure she was comfortable with him and understood what she was getting into before she accepted his bond. The dinner seduction scene was absolutely hilarious, but Bell tempered the darkness that Raven was forced to deal with in his endeavors with regular doses of humor between him and Amanda throughout the book. While all of the previous couples had their moments of levity, this is a couple that thrives on laughter and I look forward to their inclusion in future installments. My only actual complaint about Never More is that the storyline involving the White Queen felt unfinished. I can only assume that it will be picked back up in the next novel, which I am assuming will be Big Red’s story and I am so looking forward to that one.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

“The pirate had been pillaged, and he found he couldn’t complain.” – Never More by Dana Marie Bell

**I received this advance reader copy through NetGalley**

The sixth book in Bell’s Gray Court series is just as entertaining and action-packed as its predecessors. The Gray Court series focuses on a hierarchical fae world structured with two competing courts and a neutral third court that struggles to maintain the fragile balance of power. The characters that Bell introduces to readers are easy to become attached to from the start, and the cameos in following books only draw fans further into the series. The pages are definitely on fire – steamy hot romance is a given where this author is involved, and it seems no subjects are taboo.

In Never More, Bell introduces readers to Amanda Pierson, best friend of Ruby (book one) and employee of Leo (also found in book one). Instead of taking the vacation she had envisioned and checking up on her best friend, Amanda gets roped into taking over the wedding planning for acquaintances of her friend. A lot is riding on her pulling it off without a hitch, but when she meets the groom’s son, it gets real. Her typical guy trends toward the Viking type, but this one is Goth down to his fingernails…dark, but in an irresistible way.

Raven Goodfellow knows that there is something about Amanda the moment he sets eyes on her, and the strength of their attraction marks her as is truebond. The timing could not have been better, or worse, as the Black Court’s Dark Queen sends assassins for him – and any collateral damage is considered a bonus. Like his father The Hob, Raven has his own fearsome powers, but they are definitely not enough to stand against the Dark Queen. Raven and Amanda suddenly find themselves facing much more than the difficulties of a newly budding relationship; will they manage to stay alive, or be cut down by fate and dark forces prematurely?

Never More is a steamy, witty, and passionate read that will make you laugh, smile, and sigh. The story focuses on Raven and Amanda while having the other characters play a pretty decent role throughout the story. Amanda is Raven's mate and Raven does everything within his power to ease her into his world and their fate.

I liked both Amanda and Rave, together and apart. Amanda is clever, blunt, sassy, and sweet. She loves fiercely, protects those she deems in need of it, and works hard. Raven is a bit darker, deeming himself a tainted mess, with an inner child that has been clawing to be set free, a witty mouth, and enough confidence for half a dozen men. While Raven is a creative, an artist, Amanda is an event planner. They tease one another, push one another, and are the ultimate compliment of each other, the other half. Amanda gives Raven the light he so desperately seeks and saves him with her devotion and love. In return, Raven gives Amanda the kind of love she never thought she could have and the kind of passion most people never get to experience.

I give this novel a solid 4.5 stars. I laughed , snorted, and giggled many times while reading because of the exchanges between all of the characters, specifically between Raven and Amanda. I found myself panting due to the sexual tension at other times. The characters all fed off of one another, the story progressed easily, and there was a sweet love paired with a happy ending. There isn't much more you could really ask from this book and that is why my rating is damn near perfect.

A favorite moment from the book: "He lifted his gaze from her hand and allowed the green of his lineage seep into his eyes. 'That would be you, my sweet.'
She stared at him, stunned. 'Well. Fuck me sideways.'
'Soon, my sweet.' He kissed her fingers. 'Soon.'"

So Dana Marie Bell has fallen into my category of authors that make a sub character in one book and then i secretly hope said character never gets his own book so I can fantasize about them because i know they don't have a mate ........ then she goes on to write this book and i'm like

Raven was an interesting character from his first appearance in The Hob (book 4 of the grey court) and finally he gets to be the star of his own book. Raven Aka "goth boy" is the son of Robin and his truebonded to Amanda, Ruby's best friend ( so like all the good men out there he is officially taken). In this story we get to see the real Raven, and find out that underneath that bad boy goth exterior is an adorably nerdy artist who you can't help but to love. He truebond, Amanda is almost a compete opposite as she is a loud, wild and kick-ass-and-take-no-prisoners type of person.

Their relationship seems slow to take off, and at some points i felt that they would have made better friends than mates but Ms Bell never disappoints and their relationship actually seems quite fair.

There was no real climax for me in this book and that was kind of disappointing but overall i give this book a solid 4 stars

And now to cry at the loss of another frictional man I loved.

Uproariously funny, sweetly loving, suspenseful and dangerous...all in one!

This is book 6 of the Gray Court series and it only gets better. This book is the tale of Raven "The Raven Lord" McSweeney Goodfellow, the son of Robin Goodfellow aka the Hob, and his true bond Amanda, a party planner employed by Leo Dunne's company and BFF to Leo's true bonded wife, Ruby. We are once again on the Dunne Farm in Nebraska for the wedding of Robin and Michaela Exton. However, members of the aristocracy are being murdered and Raven is being framed as the killer. In reality, the murderer is another child of the Hob, named Sayyid, who is loyal to the Dark Queen and is tasked with Raven's destruction. Sayyid is strong, magically, as he is half Hob and half Djinn plus he hates Raven and Robin. There is a HEA bit also a cliffhanger leading into book 7. Nothing to get upset over or that leaves unanswered important points at an inappropriate time in the story, which I hate! If you haven't started this series, I recommend you start at the beginning soThe whole picture is filled in.

Dana did it again, another great story in the Grey Court series. I can never get enough of these characters. Amanda is Ruby's best friend and an event planner. Raven is Robin's (The Hob) son. Both are staying at the Dunne farm for Robin and Michaela's wedding which must happen soon or something bad would happen. As does it always for these characters. Raven is being set up for murder by his half brother who is setting Djinn death traps. In the process of all that's going on he meets Amanda and almost immediately realizes that she is his true bond and he now has more to lose.

With Robin and Red's help they begin to track the murderer and try to protect their friends and family from harm. As always Oberon is a force to be reckoned with. I believe I know who the next story will be about and cannot wait to see how it all turns out.

Never More is another fun, sexy addition to the Gray Court series. Both Raven and Amanda are quirky and playful and you can’t help but grin at their punny banter.

As with other Gray Court books in the series, we still get time with some of our other favorite characters, though I think I would have liked a little more time with Raven and Amanda rather than quite so much focus on the other characters.

This one also left me feeling as though it was really kind of unfinished. The major dramatic parts, especially towards the end, felt a little flat, especially when compared to some of the other books. By the time I got to the epilogue, I was thinking “That’s it?” because there were some major plot pieces that were totally left open.

So, while I did enjoy this book, it isn’t my favorite of the series so far.

This book was better than the last two!

My heart broke for Raven. All that he had to go through all the lies he was told by the Black Queen all in the name of revenge.

We met Amanda in the first book, she's Ruby's best friend and works at Fantasy Events. She's human and has no idea about Fae or anything magical. She's a feisty independent woman who knows what she wants. She is the fun one who pulls Ruby out of her shell and speaks her mind.

Raven Goodfellow is The Hob's son and new member of the Gray Court and a Blade. But not everybody is happy that Raven betrayed the Black Queen and the White Queen is determined to take out anybody who has been tainted by the black.

When Raven is being framed for murder of those who protested his transition to Gray Court and another one of The Hob's kids out to kill him will he ever be able to claim his truebond?

Another winner for the Gray Court

This is my favorite series by Ms. Bell. Every book is a winner and always look forward to the next. So glAd Raven got his HEA and hopefully Amanda will live closer to her true family, Ruby. The suspense continues and Raven hasn't been cleared yet. Liam and Melissa seem to.be the up and intrigue continues for the Gray Court. Hope those babies make an appearance next book. I bet Akrane is getting tired of being pregnant and really want to see how Shane handles the delivery.

The Hob is still my favorite and think a reread is in order. If you enjoy paranormal with the fey as the main characters this is one series you don't want to pass up.

Best Book Ever!!! I'm not one to pick a favorite in a series until they are all written but I just can help myself because this book is amazing. For me the characters are just perfect! I've always had a thing for Raven since he was introduced in Robin's story. He has a sexy name, he's sweet yet a bad a** at the same time. Plus he has awesome powers and when he clips on the feather to her I mean who wouldn't love that! Amanda is a great character as well, witty, strong an a little devious! I mean the scene when they are eating dinner and turning each other on is the freaking best!!!

I definitely give this 5 out of 5 stars!!!!!

Wonderful

I have just finished reading Never More and thus I have completed what you have written so far regarding the Gray Court. I have absolutely loved this series. I have been immersed into my cultural history and along the way learn more Gaelic, more of the verbally history of the tales of my people. I have purchased more on Scottish and Irish fae tales. The stories you have brought to life have been fancifully moving, funny, achingly tender and delicate, with the next paragraph being bold by having lives ripped apart by such evil it is hard to comprehend. Celtic life woven in such a way as to pay compliment to the life weaver's of old. Good job. I can not wait for the next as I get caught up on the cultural books I have yet to delve into.

This is Dana Marie Bell’s 6th book in the Gray Court series called Never More which reintroduces you to Ruby’s BFF Amanda who we met in the first book. This is a fun read about a Raven Goodfellow as he continues his redemption and finds love with his true bound mate Amanda, who is doing a favor for her boss and BFF Ruby & Leo and planning the wedding of Robin(The Hob) and his true love.

If you haven’t read any of the other Gray Court books you will want to so that you can understand everything going on in the book. But any of them have a HEA type of ending so you can try this one and when you love it you can go back and read the rest of the Gray Court series.

I was really looking forward to Raven's story...but this was just to short & quick!
Amanda is Ruby's best friend & in the last book Raven got the impression she might be his tru bondmate & the story pretty much flows that way right away. Though it hits she might not accept right away cuz shes human...she does; then it's onto Michaela & Pucks wedding with a some assination attempts on Raven by his half-brother. The story seems unfinished really.

Amanda and Raven. Loved it.

Amanda knows there is something odd about the Dubbed and the Goodfellows. Raven recognizes his mate right away. Amanda is planning Robin and Michaela's wedding. Amanda notices there is something about the Dunnes. Raven has to explain the Fae. She is very accepting of everything. She also becomes very protective of Raven. I like how the birds help Amanda. Good read!!!

This story just felt incomplete. All the characters that I loved from the Gray Court series make an appearance, but that just muddles the story up and not enough focus is spent on the H and h. Additionally, someone is framing Raven for murders, but that story thread is never resolved, just left hanging there... The book left me felling unresolved and like it ended before the author could clean up all the loose ends.
