OMG! Dear author, You didn't do it right. This made me feel so single that I'm going to cry. You must buy me a guy in the form of a mocha! OMG! The sweetest thing I've read ever!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with this arc
book #8 of m(arc)h challenge, where I try to read ALL the arcs I have in the month of March!
so cute. like tears-in-my-eyes type of cute
you've probably seen milk & mocha comics floating around the internet (especially on pinterest) and this is basically a collection of more of those. it starts off with shorter strips, but as you go further, the panels get longer and more detailed. some don't even have any text, but they're still perfect 🥹💖
there are also tiny puns sprinkled throughout that you might miss if you're flying through the comics, but when you do catch them, it's such a lightbulb moment.
it's just milk & mocha in simple, everyday situations, being adorable in general 🥹🥹
── .✦ pre-read 𖹭.ᐟ crying real tears (i'm on my period, let me live) because how did this slip past my radar??? but i've secured it now so i'm about to go cry some more... over bears. BEARS! 😭
Thank you so much to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

Omg this was such a cute comic collection! I have seen short little snippets of Milk and Mocha cartoons over the internet and it was so fun to read the full collection! Most of the panels are wordless, but even without text the drawings really convey this message of finding joy and love in the small things in life. The drawings themselves were so cute, and story they told was really heartwarming and cute, along with really romantic interactions between the two bears. I thought it was so cute and lovely, and Milk and Mocha really show how when you're in a relationship, the little things are big. A morning kiss to the forehead, sharing a piece of cake when they look sad, cuddling together in a blanket, even being bored together and scrolling on the phone side by side (because why not lol)! This comic collection was really sweet, and overall 3 stars!
Milk and Mocha are the main bear-y characters of the story. Their little happy moments really reminded me of the simple pleasures of life. And OF COURSE, the absolutely marvellous mind flutteringly cute art style was GORGEOUS 🐻🧸🍬🍭🩷
Genuinely, a kind of book that needs no notes, no hastle and takes you away in the lucid, small world where you genuinely learn to live and actually appreciate life and wall that it gives you. I am ENAMOURED by this short sweet tale, and I hope you are too.

🄲🅁🄴🄳🄸🅃🅂 📽️Rolling out my heartfelt thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of the book. I am truly grateful📽️
This was so adorable!!!! Despite the fact that I follow the artist on twitter I had no idea this was coming? I'm so glad I decided to randomly stalk netgalley and stumble upon it!
my favourite bear duo back with even more comic strips that make me feel utterly single. The vacation trip panels were EVERYTHING.
Milk & Mocha Comics Collection was one of those comics I was instantly drawn to just by looking at the cover. The artwork is so adorable and cozy that I knew immediately I wanted to read this cozy comic book. 😭❤️
In the introduction is talked about how it’s often the most ordinary things, the quiet moments, the warmth of doing nothing together, that mean the most to us. And honestly, I couldn’t have described it better myself. That is exactly how this book feels. Reading it almost feels like opening a beautifully coloured cozy coloring book. I caught myself slowly flipping through the pages while being wrapped in a blanket, holding a warm cup of tea, with a lovely scented candle burning nearby every time reading it. Pure comfort!
Milk & Mocha themselves are just unbearably cute 🥹 Truly, too adorable for words. Their little moments together capture so many familiar feelings in such a soft, gentle way. Doing nothing together, being there and loving each other quietly. All those moments feel incredibly relatable, and they're told with so much sweetness and warmth.
This comic is about all those small, everyday moments. The moments that often go unnoticed, yet mean everything. And it tells them in the most cozy and heartwarming way possible. I adored every minute of it. 🥰❤️
I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.
Overall this is a cute book with fun characters. I liked the cute illustrations and the short format to this book. It's very sweet. The characters are very lovable. This was the first time I've seen these characters and Iliked them. This is a very slice of life and easy going comic that is easy to fall in love with.
I used to see the comics in Instagram and have always loved them. They are the cutest lil pair. The comics are so relatable and cute. I love them so much. The art is so simple yet so cute. One of the best slice of life comics out there.
milk and mocha i love you 😭 this was so cute and fun and silly and exactly what i needed tonight! i swear i need to buy a physical copy of this when it comes out for those adorable stickers at the end
Melani Sie does a fantastic job at conveying so much soul and relatable sincerity into this comic. For a book without many words, it really drives home the message of taking the time to enjoy the little moments in your life that might not seem like anything important or major at the time.
In these times of seemingly unending horrific news cycles, this was a much needed jolt of heartwarming positivity 💖
I related hard to Milk’s chaotic energy, but there is a LOT of Mocha in me too!
Highly recommend this if you need a little pick me up, or a reminder to slow down and take in the little things.
I’d like to thank NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book before its publication. I found it absolutely adorable. The illustrations are incredibly sweet, and reading it truly feels like a warm hug. I love Milk and Mocha!
Aww, this was adorable! I’ve seen Milk & Mocha mainly in gifs that were sent around a lot and have always wondered where/what they come from, and now I finally got to see more of them - and I loved it.
In a collection of slice-of-life moments featuring bears Milk and Mocha, the comics show how easily you can find love and joy in the small gestures and things in life as long as you spend them with your loved one(s). I admit that at first, I was a bit confused by the order of the comics as I expected them to either be in a fixed storytelling order (especially with the epilogues in between) or sectioned into themes but with each sequence, I realized they did tell a story, but one of daily life and its little moments of happiness - just like the disclaimer by the illustrator at the beginning stated.
Some of the comics were genuinely so relatable (falling into a rabbit hole instead of sleeping, not buying snacks for later and then regretting it, or the shrimp posture one were all so real and some of my favourites lmao) while others were so diabetes-inducingly adorable but they all had in common that they radiate comfort and deliver the message of “just being together with you is enough” perfectly. I also just love Milk and Mocha as characters, how they contrast but compliment each other so well and how expressive the illustrations are.
While I read the book in one sitting, I feel like it might be nice to flip through it every now and then as well, just to power up on some Milk & Mocha panels.
Overall, there’s not much to say except that this is fun and sweet, and a nice treat if you enjoy cute illustrations of relatable daily situations and lovable bears. Oh, how I wish I could have the physical stickers, though!
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for providing me a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars! I want to thank NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for a honest review!
This was the perfect book for me! I absolutely adore Milk and their straightforward love for Mocha! I truly needed something like this in my life. ^^' I'm not sure if this title is queer or not, but I choose to view it as such; and I must say that this collection contains not only beautiful friendship moments, but also love. (my favourites are their holiday trip and the little snippets with Mustard and his inclusion into the family). Mocha's disability( again, I presume that's the reason he communicates in that manner) isn't an impediment in their relationship with Milk ; and despite them being more reserved and quiet, they too show through little actions how much they value Milk. (yes, he's my favorite of the 2; and i even dare to say, the more well-rounded character) It was heart-warming to see both of them taking space and being themselves in these stories.^^
This little book talks about family, love, connection and, most importantly, making memories and acknowledging the here and now. :) The art is cute, on point and I would say bright! The pacing of the panels is just right and the jokes always land. :)))
Why 4.5? I wanted a little more from the Mustard plotline..that's it.^^'
I highly recommend everyone to give this one a go; who knows...maybe these life moments stir memories in you, or just help you relax and appreciate YOUR relationships more. ^^
Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Moments was a delightful read featuring a number of relatable comics about the little moments with the one you love.
Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Moments is the second collection of Milk & Mocha comics which features a mix of new and old comics as well as two pages of stickers. The amiable Milk and the reserved Mocha prove opposites really can be perfect for each other. Focusing on the little moments in a relationship, this collection is perfect for anyone who has ever been in love.
I have enjoyed the Milk & Mocha comics for years and after learning there was a second collection of the comics, I knew I wanted to pick this book up. The drawings are fantastic with bright and colorful illustrations. The bears are adorable and their pets Matcha and Mustard are even cuter. A large number of the comics don't actually include any words and instead rely on Milk or Mocha's actions to convey the point of the comic. The relationship between Milk and Mocha is so sweet and I loved how well the author portrayed how much the two love each other. The situations in these comics were quite relatable and I got up to show my husband several of the comics while reading as they perfectly fit our relationship.
Overall Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Moments was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a cute collection of comic.
Before I get into the review, a quick thank you to both NetGalley and the publishers over at Andrews McMeel Publishing for allowing me access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I feel like you can't exist on the internet without knowing about Milk & Mocha. This is the second comic collection in this series. Our Little Moments focuses on the small moments in a relationship that actually mean so much. Milk & Mocha: Our Little Moments comes out on June 23rd and is available for preorder now.
I'll keep the review short and sweet since this is a comic collection. I'm finding as I get older I'm actually enjoying these collections more than I would when I was younger. I think part of that comes from existing in bookish spaces as a young girl and trying to be taken seriously. But getting older means I don't care what people think about what I'm reading, how I'm reading, or me in general. So, yes, I will check out the Calvin and Hobbes collection from the library, and I will request the ARC of a cute bear comic and I'll be loving it the whole time. There's just something so REAL about these bears. The comics always seem to echo something in the real world that I've experienced and it's always so cute and cozy. I love Milk and Mocha so much. They both have such distinct personalities and so much love for each other.
I hope we keep getting Milk & Mocha comics and we keep getting to see our own love reflected back at us in the form of two little bears.
"Every story is beautiful but ours is my favorite."
Milk & Mocha Comics collection: our little Moments is a series of sweet moments between extroverted Milk and shy Mocha.
"I will love you until this flower withers. Artificial flower !"
The two bears are living their sweet everyday life and moments of love. They are so adorable with eachother. It's a really quick read, a very lovely, pleasant read.
The stickers at the end of the book are cute. I loved picking out some quote of the book. Even if they could be considered "cheesy" : I do not care.
"The most beautiful stars are the ones in your eyes."
It's very cute, very simple. The small scenes do not need much words to express and show the care, love and adoration between the two characters. It gives the reader a boost of good feelings, love and relaxation. It's a feel good book. It's soothing, cozy, the pastel colors brings the ambiance of their love.
"The best moments always feel so short, but we can keep make more moments like these. Also these are the best moments not only because of the place, but because I'm with you."
I didn't know Milk & Mocha before, but now I want to read more and I will go and discover the first book : Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Happiness.
"Let's promise then, more moments, more places, more stories... As long as it's with you."
"Milk & Mocha" is one of my absolute favorite comic collections, and I was ecstatic to find out the creator was publishing a new book! I follow them on social media b/c I love to see the comics the post daily, and this collection did not disappoint! Milk and Mocha is so charming and wholesome. Every 4 panel comic makes me smile, and even if you read just one a day, it always makes the day brighter. I see a lot of my own relationship in these comics and it reminds me of a lot of really good times I've had with my own significant other.
The comics are so cute and well drawn too! I love the cozy, cute aesthetic and the cheerful color palette that the author uses to convey each comic. In this particular installment one of my favorite parts was the new character, "Mustard" the frog. Truly I feel like anyone could find a bit of joy in reading these comics, and I cannot recommend enough!!! There's honestly no age recommendation either, they comics are so cozy I feel like they could be enjoyed by anyone.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author, Melani Sie, for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely be buying a copy when this book gets published!
Thank you so much to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the advance review copy! As always all opinions shared are 100% my own.
Sometimes you need a cute read that reminds you of the little happy things in life. This is exactly what 'Milk and Mocha: Our Little Moments' hopes to do.
You've probably seen the cute little bears around if you've been anywhere on the internet in the last few years. And for a good reason. Their illustrations are expressive, wholesome and just all around perfect.
This book takes the adorable illustrations to a whole new level giving them subtle narratives that delights the reader but also touches their hearts. I can safely say I did not expect to get so emotional going through the book.
Whether you sit down to read it all at once or leaf through a couple each day, this is an excellent cozy read and would be a perfect gift for all ages.
I had never seen or heard of Milk & Mocha before coming across the ARC for Our Little Moments on NetGalley. I blew through the digital book and found myself laughing out loud at the adorable relatability of the bears' relationship. Milk and Mocha are so endearing. And despite being comic characters, they realistically depict the emotions and idiosyncrasies of being in a long-term relationship. I had to share a few of my favorite pages with my husband because they so perfectly captured the dynamic of our own relationship. Now we occasionally send each other screenshots from @milkmochabear's Instagram as love tokens.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. My husband found it amusing and my nine year old found it hilarious (even though he occasionally needed me to explain what was going on*). I LOVED the book and have added it (and it's prequel) to my Physical-Books-to-Own-Wishlist (which is a high honor, as we're trying to reduce the amount of books that we have to schlep when we move house).
*My nine year old said to make sure I mentioned that he particularly liked the dino and frog pets.
Extremely grateful to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read this book pre-publishing!
Milk and Mocha are a very familiar couple to me as I follow the author's Instagram account and share most of the illustrations with my partner, so when noticed that this work was available for FREE in Netgalley I knew I had to check it. As expected, this collection of short comics were sweet, cozy, relatable and just perfect as a little reading "snack" between deeper more intricate reads. Their contrasting personalities make it perfect for different people to relate to one or the other, ad also feel represented as Mocha seems to use a board to talk whenever they are not feeling very verbal. Matcha and Mustard also add to the overall cuteness of the stories as they can remind us of our own doggies and cats (or even more peculiar pets such as snakes or tortoises). I haven't yet read the first volume but after reading this one I will surely do so. Highly recommended if you love the tooth rooting fluff tag in ao3 :D
I have never related to anything more than these two silly bears! They are adorable, they are relatable, and reading this will warm your heart. The art is so cute and the story in each comic is short and sweet. I would recommend this for anyone, especially if you experience intrusive thoughts, and love to have a good laugh at that. Honestly, these comics made me realize how I’ve done pretty much everything Milk does to Mocha to my own partner and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see two cartoon bears in love in the same way. Gotta love an extrovert/introvert love story!
I read this so quickly, in under an hour, so if you want a quick uplifting read this is for you! And the description says the physical book will come with stickers, and there was a page of images at the end of this which I believe are the sticker designs and which I will absolutely need. Finally, I want a plushie of their little Dino buddy or mustard, so cute!
Get this book when it releases June 23!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read an eARC of this book!
I've been aware of Milk & Mocha for years. I fell in love with the illustrations, as they are so charming and downright adorable. When I see their comics on social media, I always look them over. Since they tend to be short, they're a nice burst of happiness.
I can't help but think they are better off in a social media format. As I went through the book, I still found them charming and adorable, but it got a bit repetitive. Some of the quotes were also a bit on the cringy side.
The author does have a note at the beginning of the book, expressing these comics can be read all at once or a little at a time. I feel like if I had read them over a longer period, I would have enjoyed them more. One every morning? That would've been a good way to start the day.
Overall, still a great collection. If you're a fan of the comics on Instagram and such, then you'll enjoy this book. They're bound to make you smile. But as said, they may be more effective by splitting them up.
This simple, beautifully drawn little book would be a perfect anniversary, Valentine’s Day or “just because” gift for your significant other. Everyday moments are so precious and Milk & Mocha perfectly encapsulate those quiet, hushed valuable loving times.
My favorite was probably the prepping dinner, eating dinner and cleaning up scene. It’s so straightforward but I felt so seen with that! It’s incredibly relatable, who doesn’t want to connect with two cute bears named Milk and Mocha?
When you can separate yourself from the materialistic items and the business of work it’s those compilation of quirks between you and your partner that no one else knows about that bring a smile to your face and a flutter to your heart, feeling so validated just for who we are.
Most of the book, I would say 80-90% of it spoke to me personally which is why I give it 4/5 stars in my opinion. Solid concept and execution. Lovably, charming illustrations throughout!! 💕
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this adorable ARC in exchange for my honest review.
