It's been several years since I've read The Bluest Eye, and since that time, I've acquired several more of her books that I've yet to read. Dr. Verdelle is thorough, engaging, and the book is well worth lingering over lest you miss an important detail about Toni Morrison. As an African American woman, I felt uplifted, and I felt seen. When you finish this book, you'll feel as though you have attended the best masterclasses.

I enjoyed this book. I have never read a Toni Morrison book, but I will be reading her books. This author makes Ms. Morrison real, human and very intriguing.
