I am pretty sure that this was written by a fairly clever junior high aged boy who was very excited to spook his teacher and fellow students and use every big word that he knew (or thought he knew) for a Halloween season writing assignment. It did lead me to look up other books about a few of the incidents and places that I am hoping will be more well written than this is. Worth the price for Kindle... free.
True Ghost Stories: True Ghost Stories Of Terrifying Paranormal Activity, Haunted Houses And Spooky Places From Around The World - True Ghost Stories Books ... True Ghost Stories Series, Ghost Stories) by Jo Lavine
A fascinating collection of short stories (events) of paranormal experiences. Some include ghosts, poltergeists, urban legends, poltergeists and much more. I found this book very enjoyable and feel those who love "spooky" tales will enjoy this book as well.
I have heard most of these stories before, and actually told much better. Not all the facts were correct and the spelling and grammar were horrible. None of the stories were terrifying, just the same stories rehashed and not very well.
Who wrote this? Was there ANY attempt at editing? This is complete nonsensical drivel.....glad I didn't pay for it! If I could give negative stars I would.
I am a big fan of ghost stories and have read dozens of them. Books about regional ghosts are my favorites and I collect these tales. Having said all of this, I have to admit I didn't enjoy this book at all because of the lack of editing. One reviewer commented that it looked like it had been typed over a weekend. I'd agree with that. It was typed, but never read through. Unfortunately, the basic grammar rules for fiction weren't used in the creation of this volume. Still, this book could be saved with an editor.
Some folks could probably read through the mistakes, but as a former teacher it ruined the story for me. Ghost stories are easy fodder since there are no copyrights. All a person has to do is cherry pick a few from other books or online, which this author obviously did. The sentence structure was rather simple, too. Something you get from your primary reading book. A good story teller sets the scene.
I didn't like it, but each reader must be their own judge.
This short book about ghosts is broken into 10 chapters. At 70 pages, this is a quick read. I had heard most of the stories before, but a couple of the ones from other countries were new to me. I was surprised to see Dudleytown from Connecticut mentioned, so that was nice. The book can use some editing as it's missing punctuation and some sentences just don't make sense. If you can look past that, it's free on Amazon.
I enjoyed the stories, but the writing seemed unedited. There were spelling errors and syntax errors. It at first seemed to be written by a teenager, but then some of the awkwardness reminded me of a bad translation .com a non English language. Once I got used to the strange style, the stories were interesting.
Interesting mix of the well known & the not so well known
This book is divided into 10 chapters which each have 4 - 5 succinctly written cases. The book has famous cases as well as some that have surprisingly slipped under the radar. I only wish that the cases that aren't that well known were described in more detail. Overall it's an enjoyable book !
I always enjoy events and things that can scare the living day lights out of you!
I gave this book 4 stars because it was really interesting...but not 5 because a lot of things I and I'm sure most people reading this book all ready know about. But I definitely recommend this book to all of those who enjoy being scared!
A will written fantasy or is it novella by No Levine about ghost, haunted houses, and paranormal activity. I would highly recommend this novella to anyone who reads fantasy or looking for a quick read. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or 🎶 listening to books 📚 2022 😈😡😕😮
It's a bit dry in places but gives a nice overview of the different types of hauntings. There is enough information in the example cases that if you desire, you can search for more information on the individual cases if you wish to put the effort into the search.
Very interesting stories about some spooky places. Some I would like to visit myself. It was a good read and I think you would enjoy it if you're interested in Haunted Houses. Give it a try. None of the stories are very long so you go through it quickly.
I had a lot of fun while reading it and would have to read more of this author for sure. It was a great treat to a horror addict like me. Had a lot of fun but would have been even better if there were images of the places too.
This book was really good short and crisp giving out creeps. I really suggest this book for someone who wants real haunted stories to be read in a short time. Then this right for you. Nice 👍
I loved all the stories. They were spine chilling and absolutely terrifying. I would like to recommend this book for all those who enjoy reading horror stories.
63 pages does not a book make. This is a short overview of some famous ghost stories and hauntings. Short is the pivotal word. The failure of this book is it should have been longer. It didnt treat any of its subjects with the depth they deserved
Not haunted but based on Facts. This book has 10 Chapters and each chapter has different topics. The scientific reasons are taken in consideration as well. Very well written and correct informations' had been provided.
Poorly edited, poorly researched. Just a brief rehashing of famous stories of haunted places and objects. Misspellings, poor grammar, poor storytelling.
