The Solitude Saga #1

Stalker's Luck

Rate this book
The Eleda system is dying. Cut off from the rest of humanity, the ancient machines that keep the colonies alive are breaking down, one by one.

Bounty hunter Eddie Gould intends to write the tales of the system’s last days with a pen in one hand and a gun in the other. Alongside his partner, ex-revolutionary Dominique, Eddie hunts a fugitive through the flickering neon and crippled life support systems of a doomed space station.

But a dark secret lies hidden in the space station’s twisting depths, a secret that will make Eddie question everything he thinks he knows about his past.

And in this place, truth and justice are only found at the end of a gun.

Hard, fast, and brutal, Stalker's Luck is a stylish retro-future tale of sin and desperation at the edge of space.

Chris Strange

Chris Strange discovered at an early age that he was completely unsuited to life among normal human beings. After experimenting with several different career paths, he said to hell with it and went back to writing, his first love.

Chris is the author of Don’t Be a Hero and the Miles Franco series of hard-boiled urban fantasy novels, beginning with The Man Who Crossed Worlds. He writes for the daydreamers, the losers, the cynics and the temporarily insane. His stories are full of restless energy and driven by a passion for the unorthodox. He loves writing characters on the fringe of society: the drifters, the knights errant, the down-and-out.

In his spare time, Chris is an unapologetic geek, spending far too long wrapped up in sci-fi books, watching old kaiju movies and playing video games. He lives in the far away land of New Zealand, and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Forensic Science.

He doesn’t plan on growing up any time soon.

Chris also writes crime and noir fiction as Harry St. John.

The author has an imagination and a creativity that I do like. “Don’t be a hero” was my first Strange book, and Stalkers Luck did not fail me.

First thing first. Thank you for creating Eddie and Dom and all the other amazing characters in Stalkers Luck, they made me get in touch with several of my feelings. That is a key factor for me to like a book, thumbs up!

In addition to get in touch with my feelings, I went on an imaginary trip to space, which I also do like a lot. It gave me nasty thugs and gritty heroes, also a like. So far, Stalkers Luck has loads of what I want from a book. The rest is a bonus.
The author writes fast paced and the story is easy to enjoy, catch the “bad guy(s)” before it all goes to hell. Moreover, with two protagonists who likes doing it their own way, we have a winner.
I will for sure look out for the next book in this series.

Enjoy the read!

Ahh yes:

More sci fi series to get addicted to. I initially found Mr. Strange via "Don't Be a Hero" aka Super Hero Noir that totally gels with what I love.

Best way I can put this: If you love any aspects of Firefly then this series is right up your alley. Already bought the rest of the books released so far.
