Why I abandoned this series I have no idea as when I'm hanging out with Reagan and Haley I'm actually having a really good time.
Former cheerleaders before the zombies took over, Reagan, Haley and the crew they have collected along the way are all heading through America, doing the impossible and hoping to find a zombie free land.
These girls! I hope I'm like them if I ever encounter zombies, falling in love, moaning that my legs are unshaven and that I need a bath. Such trash but I love it.
Just three volumes left to complete the series.
At time of posting this series is available on Kindle Unlimited.
I don't know why I began this third series thinking of rainbows, unicorns, and happily ever after.......shame on me!
This series has everything! Zombies, evil nemesis, boarder crossing, bounty hunters, the former cartel, zombie minions, cannibals (who might as well be zombies), kids who eat dogs, no water, no food, crying baby. And death...... there's always death when zombies are involved.
After crying my eyes out. The really ugly kind. Loud sobbing with snot melding with tears running down my face. With no tissues! Because of how unprepared I was for my dreams of survival to come crashing down. Oh! and almost peeing my pants for fear of changing the outcome of a chapter because I had to put my kindle down for few minutes of reality.
I took a deep breath to compose my inner turmoil. Then had an argument with myself to accept the outcome. It was little argument mind you... teeny tiny really. Miniscule.
When I get into a book.... I really get into it. Bookworm problems. I blame great authors.
Rachel, I know why you did it. You had to...... Right? Because then this would be a fairy tale, and..... and we can't have that in zombie apocalypse.... Right? Pssh! What am I saying.... Of course you're right! Although I am a little weary of Page's story now. What to do. What to do. All I can do now is get some closure.
One of my favorite zombie series! Highly recommend! Throw in love, marriage, and babies...... wait I ment zombies, vaccine, and cures?
*clears throat*
If you love zombies this is the series for you!!
If not go with the love, marriage, and babies thing.
Love and Decay, Volume Six contains episodes 1-4 of Season Three in the Love and Decay series. I’m not sure what to make of this season so far. It’s better than Season Two but it just hasn’t completely drawn me in the way Season One did. This was just so depressing at times and there doesn’t seem to be as many happy moments. I like a story that has a good mixture of emotions going on and this leads more to sad and depressing emotions so I’m not sure exactly what to take away from it.
What a way to start the season! Just when you think Reagan and the gang have been through everything, they find themselves in increasingly worse situations! I couldn't believe Haley's storyline, and it was great to have an episode dedicated to her because of it. That ending tho!!!!
This is an interesting series. It has humour so things don't get too heavy but at the same time they do loose people and there is violence and killing.
The series is a long one and these main characters stories continue for 3 seasons. There is also a spin off series that deals with the sister later.
There is little intimacy. There is touching, hugging and a few kisses but no sex until much later in the last season. The main 2 characters have love interests but due to the nature of the start of the virus and the constant threat there are no intimate scenes until the end of season 3.
Each season ends on a HFN with an enemy thread running through the whole series. Each episode either ends as HFN with a goal set for the next or at times an immediate threat will run across several episodes. At the time I read these the whole series was on Amazon KU so it was possible to read one after the other or complete in a box set. If you start reading and want to get to a HEA you will need to read the entire 3 seasons. There is the immediate zombie threat which is constant but also the series deals with humanities reaction to survival. Often a bigger threat is the desire for power between the surviving groups and these at times use lack of resources and scientific experimentation to control the main threats. Later in the series there is a love triangle situation of sorts for the heroine. It's not exactly a love triangle but there is a dividing force between the main couple due to the interest from another man. There are no intimate details but there is a kissing scene with the other man, but at the time the main couple are not together. The characters are all very different, they have their flaws but they are college age so when they make mistakes and sometimes they are stupid ones I put it down to youth and although they have learnt survival through experience the threat is constant so it's not easy for them to be sensible all the time. There is a good bit of banter between the group and a great deal of humour. There are some serious issues dealt with too and the main human enemy threat is pretty evil.

OMG!!!, Book 1. So, months later the group is still together, but with an added surprise. Did anyone see that coming? With the Mexican border on the horizon will they finally find what they're after?
Book 2. Buenos Dias. Welcome to Mexico. Home of drug lords and human traffickers, oh joy! Now with the bounty on her head is there nowhere left to run?
Book 3. Blues, Dispair and agony...can it get any worse? Cannibles no less, damn those Mexicans are nuts! What else can possibly happen?
Book 4. Slavers? Really? How much more can these kids handle? And what's up with Miller? Has he hit the deep end?
There are still too many questions to be answered...stay tuned....
This whole series has been one of my favorites ever for action, characters, story line and the romance, and some girls that can kick butt and still pine for eye liner; yeah!
I had a little rough time with this particular Vol. 6. I need more character personal involvement and a little less super fantastic mega danger situations. I have spent a lot of time on this series so I will hold out to the end. I just hope I am rewarded.
Haley's perspective was a bit dry and didn't pack the powerful punch that Rachel usually instills in Reagan's passages, but I enjoyed it non the less, and like always it was left on a huge cliff hanger. Can't wait for next week!
I just love this series so much! I really hate that this is the last season :( I can't wait to read the last two but I also don't want it to be over! I'm so attached to every one of these characters I can't even handle it.
Better than the last volume. Although the part in the mines felt very stunted, like it was added for no reason since it happened so quickly and was over too easily. Not so much experience with zombies in this one, more about the people they bump into on their trip South.
What a crazy adventure it has been! The group has finally crossed into Mexico, but only to find out that the rumours about the dangers were true. On a side note, I still really miss Kane and often find myself imagining how different their journey would be if he was there too.
