I enjoyed Bishop!

The beginning was a little bit slow for me and I was pretty good at figuring out what came next. I got a little bit further in and it was one twist after another.

Santino was EVERYTHING!!

I think the chemistry in this book was very steamy and I ate it all up.

Pia was exactly what she needed to be to pull their story together.

Guido knew how is brother was and still loved him.

All of the secrets and violence that was disguised and overlooked. Not too many people really KNEW what was going on.

I will say this is exceptional at describing all of the steamy sciences.

I plan on reading it again to see if there was anything I might have missed.

Another instalment in the Shattered Pieces Mafia romance series.
Pia and Santino's story...The Bishop, the priest, for his Mafia family. The Heir or the religious Father who has seen too much and tries hard to extract himself from his father Giovanni and the rest of the family. He tries and fails to keep the family away from his life, until it comes crashing into his church in the way of one of his families enemies, Pia.
Hiding behind his collar, feeling like he is drowning in his fathers secrets, when Pia enters his church, he knows instinctively that she is lying, about who she is and what she is doing in his church, but he is drawn towards her. Not knowing her true identity, he keeps a close eye on her as she enters his church under the guise of a cleaner.
She is after Giovanni's secrets. Hidden in the crypts and secret tunnels underneath the church. Secrets even Santino knows nothing about.
This story starts off full of mystery, then as the fast paced plot develops, you get sucked into the depth of deception that everyone in the family has had to endure.
Not knowing who to trust, Santino finds that Romeo has the most to lose as his secrets outdo any that he knows.
As Pia becomes more entangled in his family secrets, she reveals the depth of betrayal shown by Giovanni, towards her father, the families then accountant. Trusted until he wasn't.
Pia is seeking vengeance for her family. For the death of her father at the hands of Giovanni. She just needs to find the proof to bring Santino's family to its knees.
She didn't take into account the falling in love with the priest.....The Bishop, Santino.
Not sure who falls first, but it is hot and the chemistry is off the charts. Santino will burn down the city to keep her safe.
Loved this story as it developed and at its conclusion, the soft cliff hanger with the whisper of Romeo, The Knight's story to come!

Bishop by Hannah Rio is book three in the Shattered Pieces, mafia romance series. I did not read book one King or book two Queen. I felt that the author did a good job of giving background on the King as she went along but I did not get much information on Queen. That is on me though since I did not read those books. I felt that Bishop was a bit slow in the beginning. That made it difficult for me to get into it. The book does pick up and at the end I really wanted more of it.

Santino Rivas aka Bishop is the oldest of the four Rivas brothers. Santino was trained to be his father's enforcer. He was his father's heir until he chose the church over the family leaving his brother Romeo as head of the Rivas mafia family.

Pia Moretti's father was the accountant for Giovanni Rivas, the King. Giovanni framed Pia's father and ordered him killed. He was killed in front of Pia. Pia swore that she would kill the men responsible for killing her father. This has shaped her life. She has come to the church to enter the tunnels underneath it to look for Giovanni's ledger that can exonerate her father.

One of the things that stood out to me in this novel is the tension between the characters. Pia is bold, calculating, and willing to risk everything for answers, while Santino struggles between the man he wants to be and the ruthless enforcer he once was. Their enemy-to-lover dynamic felt emotionally charged, with plenty of angst and forbidden desire. Overall, Bishop is a passionate, dramatic, and addictive read that delivers exactly what it promises: forbidden romance, dangerous secrets, and a hero willing to burn down his world for the woman he loves.

Pia Moretti walks into Santino Rivas church a man of faith with a monsters bloodline looking for answers he's her enemy she wants to know who killed ger father.
Pia did everything to seduce him letting watch & want her til he ends up pinning her to the wall, not expecting to want him as much as he does her.
Pia finds herself in danger causing the Enforcer inside Santino to surface to kill to protect her.
Giovanni is Santino's father whispers of him walking away from the crown, he's not suppose to choose to protect Pia over his family but he'll kill his entire family to keep her.
Will Santino & Pia survive to get their HEA so many twists to this journey a must read to see what happens.

This is primarily Santino/Bishop and Pia’s story. It’s a continuation of King & Queen that follows the Rivas family, its rise to mafia powerhouse and the death of its patriarch. I loved the storyline and the characters. They have history that goes back decades, full of sin and deceit, but also great love. My biggest complaint is that the timelines and plots from the previous stories are not concluded, Guido was in exile with his mother Zina, but now he’s back, and it’s not explained and his age is wrong. I wish the author had taken the time to follow her own plot lines. It takes me away from the story that’s unfolding when things like that pop up. That being said, this is a series/story well worth reading. 4✨’s

I enjoyed reading this darker mafia story. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed their writing skills as well as their use of details. This is a story about obsession and betrayal. This is Pia and Santino's story and what a great story it is. Their relationship is full of passion and chemistry that is off the charts. I enjoyed them and other supporting characters throughout. I also enjoyed watching their growth as well as growth of the plot that made the story hard to put down. I found this story to be fast paced and engaging. This is the third book in this series and I will be going back to read the previous books. This is a great story that I highly recommend.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But I felt like it was all over the place. I struggled to stay engaged in the story because I was constantly torn away from it by all the spacing errors. Which sometimes were the entire page or 2. Not just a sentence here and there.

I felt like this one didn't tie into the 2nd book in the series (Queen) very well. And there were so many pages of the same thing over and over again. Like the same thing was happening but from her angle then his and it was just overload and filler. No substance to a lot of the chapters.

I feel like the book had potential but it just fell really flat for me.

Buckle up because this one is one wild rollercoaster ride. Santino and Pia are some serious push and pull. She is a walking sin and Santino can’t help but be tempted. This book grabbed and me and held on to me from the beginning to the end. The twists and turns had me gripping this book like it was a lifeline. This was filled with danger and chaos. The character development, romance and everything in between is written very well. I couldn't get enough of Santino and Pia in this book.

I'm on the fence on this one. Lots of stuff duplicated between the chapters. Lots of backstory is different from the previous books, and not just small stuff, big key parts. Felt like A LOT of fluff throughout but I want to complete the series, this one was just hard to finish.

Another solid read by Hannah Rio. It was an interesting continuation of the series. Santino and Pia had a rollercoaster of a relationship. It was a little longer than a normal story from this author. It was slow to start but picked up as it went on. It had some good action and drama. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
