This is an exceptionally heartwarming book spanning from 1988 to 2025 of the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Lubbock, Texas. The story is told through anecdotes of all different kinds of rehabilitated wildlife over the years. The birds and animals make wonderful "characters" in this book, my favorite being Edgar, the Egret and his scrambled eggs. Each chapter features a rescued animal or an advancement of the Center. The chapters based on a rescued bird include such unique, informative facts told through the story of that animal's rehabilitation journey. This was a wonderful read with the perfect mix of lifetime stories and animal facts and at times, I couldn't put the book down.
