This was heart wrenching... MY GOD!
It's been a while since I experienced such a visceral reaction to a book. I'm not even married and it felt like MY husband was cheating on me. I can't count the number of times I bawled my eyes out on Gabby's behalf... that scene in Sarah's apartment was so so painful. Up until that point, I had actually been deluding myself that he wouldn't cheat.. The way he was gaslighting her...

Gabby is such a strong woman. To struggle years later while the people who did you wrong are flourishing. Lincoln doesn't deserve her IDC. The fact that he doesn't even seem that remorseful, his apologies just feel so weak and empty. Almost like he just wants her to get over it. Coupled with the fact, he's still sleeping with Sarah after it all??! WTH

I truly hope things look up for Gabby in the next book. She should get with someone who truly cares for her.Why does she have to suffer while Lincoln is living it on with his side bitch?
I don't like that she slept with him at the end of the book . The author needs to make Lincoln WORK for it if they're going to get back together. Which Lincoln doesn't deserve IMO. He's a piece of shit and needs to piss off. Also can't wait for Sarah to get what's coming to her.

Not familiar with this author's work but it looks like it's gonna be a looonng bumpy ride, judging from her other works 🫠

Confused by this Couple

This my my second series by this author, and I commend her for keeping readers hooked on the train wrecks she creates. Gabby is the wronged spouse in the story, but I still didn’t like her all that much. Her emotions and suspicions were valid but she was so whiny and bitter. Now, Lincoln was garbage. I absolutely don’t like him. And Sarah can fall in a crack in the earth never to be heard from again. I know they’ll eventually get back together in subsequent books, but I hate the she gave in to him in the end. He didn’t deserve it especially while still sleeping with Sarah. Working with her is such a lazy excuse. I would absolutely love to see Gabby become close with someone else before she and Lincoln inevitably get back together.

I don’t like having the OW pov ! She’s a bitch and I could care less. The H was a wuss. He’s a little in love with his wife. They’ve been together 10 years. His attitude of saying his wife is the only woman he ever loved while getting it on with his work wife shows what a loser he is. The OW is prominent throughout this book. She’s one of those obnoxious ones you love to hate. The h does give her a smack down. Ends on a cliffhanger.

another 6-7 books?

The writing is good, I enjoy the plot, and the characters have depth. However why does everything need to be 6-7 books?

I…omgah, I don’t even know how to respond. This book filled me with so much anxiety and sadness. The mmc was a total douche of the first waters!! And I wanted him to fail at everything and live in the gutter while the fmc stomped on his ass as well as on that evil ow. But NOTHING happened to the lying ass cheaters and the fmc was made to look pathetic! Damn it !! Why !?! Why write a pathetic fmc !!? I don’t know, I don’t like how I feel after reading this book, like yuck ! I need to like go rinse my brain out or something lol- I’m pissed !

I have to keep telling myself that I didn’t like anything of the characters in book one of all of the series I read. It…will… get… better!…. I hope. Now I’m seeing that there is definitely a trend with The author even tho this series is starting to slightly different. The yt FMC is the quasi main chick. The yt MMC is the morally obtuse man that is stuck with the yt chick but yearns for the blk chick. And the blk chick is the doormat that accepts the crumbs the MMC gives.

This book is different because the blk chick starts off as the main chick and the yt chick is the side chick but they ends up switching places and now the blk chick seems like she is gearing up to be the side chick. I don’t like it.

The end bothered me so much and made me so disappointed in the blk FMC. I’m going to still with it tho and hopefully this goes for the better.

I don’t Expect anything less from Alexandria. BRAVO!!

One thing this author is going to do is have her readers experience emotions. Regardless if the topic makes you uncomfortable, it’s realistic and triggering.

To have so many personalities flushed out so well, I’m here for it. Lincoln really didn’t realize what he had with his wife Gabbi, until the last couple of chapters. And to be honest, despite what happened in the last chapter, I believe his weakness for Sarah’s temptation will do irreparable damages in the long run mentally. I love Gabbi and hope she finds her happiness with or without a companion a.k.a Lincoln. She deserves the best and can’t wait for the next installment.

What an Emotional Ride!

OMG Alexandria, you outdid yourself on this story and it's only Book 1! I'm not into spoilers so I'll just say this is a most PASSIONATE, emotionally charged thruple journey. Some palpable themes that we all can relate to in some form or fashion. I am so ready for Book 2 🔥🔥🔥

Holy smokes!

I don't think I've ever been so angry with a character like I was living their lives. Lincoln, Lincoln, Lincoln. I low key wanna fight you on site. Gabby, in the beginning I needed a little more spitfire from you and I'm glad you finally found it. Keep it up. I hope you give him hell in the following series.

Ugh. This story sucks. I love angsty/gut punch, cheating stories. I was excited to read this one after someone rec'd it over on FB. This is my first story by this author, and I didn't realize going in that her stories are always cliffies, with the couples continuing on in other books. I wish I had known this author's M.O. before diving in. I really hate reading a series of the same couple through several books.

I don't have the patience for it. But I digress.....This story has one thing going for it. It makes the reader extremely uncomfortable while reading this story. For me, this story wasn't an angsty, gutting read. It was more of an anger read. I was seriously pissed off through most of this story.

Lincoln is an absolute fucking piece of shit. And a coward. And NOT a Hero at all. I hated him. His cold gas lighting to his wife Gabby, while he was secretly dipping his dick in his "Work Wife" Sarah, was slimy and gross.

And the heroine Gabby is so freaking insecure and whiny through the entire story. She was seriously hard to stomach too.

I hated Sarah. She was such a slutty, disgusting, (walking STD), husband poaching, homewrecking WHORE.

Gabby should have seriously cut her losses and found a new, worthy Hero she deserved to be happy with, and this story should have ended at book one. But what did she do instead? She fucks Lincoln even after learning he's been fucking the ho bag who took him away from her, for years, WITH NO CONDOMS. Payback or stupidity on her part? Who knows?

I honestly can't say I liked any of these characters, and I definitely didn't like them OR the story enough to keep reading on to book 2. Hard pass.

If you've read any of Alexandria's previous serious then you know that her tropes are: love triangles, cheating/betrayal and grovel and madness of a female character who can't accept the reality that's in her face.

Now ...

Gabriella (Gabby) and Lincoln married young and just shy of their 10 year anniversary Lincoln begins to change by working late hours on a life-changing project with an attractive female co-worker. When he reveals his co-worker Sarah is attracted to him, things take a turn for the worse. When Gabby tries to talk to him about his long hours and his co-worker, he gets defensive, but it's the night he comes in at 3am in the morning all la de da without even the courtesy of a phone call that's the beginning of the drama. In fact, he tells her he may or may not be able to call her when he works late because of phone connectivity problems. When she calls him on his BS, he cleans it up a little bit where he promises to make more of an effort.

Things really go downhill when Gabby attends a work dinner with him and his attention is monopolized by his Sarah who takes it upon herself to actually hand feed him—Gabby's a good one because it woulda been World Word 4 up in that party. When she's had enough, she calls a ride and that's when Lincoln notices she's about to leave but doesn't understand why. Does he leave with her? I think you already know the answer to that question.

Sarah is supposed to be 22 years old but she reads much older and she definitely has insidious deception down to a science, but it takes two to tango. Sarah plays to long game and Lincoln is the puppet, his strings are being pulled and he's too dumb and horny to realize that life as he knows it is going to implode—spectacularly. Probably Book One of Six, so more heartache and drama to follow.

Read now or save for when all books are published, usually two per month, which should conclude this series by March.

F*ck u man!!

Cheating = h has a gut feeling about the H’s assistant, OW, and constantly checks in/confronts/argues/ with the H about her and his lack of respect/care he shows to the h and their marriage. h wants to surprise H at work with a picnic…she gets the surprise of finding H in the afterglow naked in bed with OW

h sees H with OW = see above

OW drama = OW went out her way to vamp it up with H and finally gets her man. OW was constantly whispering in the H’s ear about the h and their marriage. Once h and H were divorced, OW was so cruel and insulting to the h that the h went after her physically and beat the crap out of OW. This beat down got h arrested, fired and difficult to find work. Comeuppance?? None in this book.

I believe there will be more books with these characters because of not it left off in a f-ed up place.

The was a SKILLET 🍳 read!!! I HATED the pansy ass, weak snowflake “H” in this book. He was such a cake eater.

It’s in the name “Da Great”

As someone who has always hated the terms “work wife” and “work husband,” I went into this book fully skeptical even though Alexandria da Great is one of my favorite authors. But wow… she did it again.

I absolutely loved this story, and Gabrielle has my whole heart. Sarah, on the other hand, is downright diabolical and can kick rocks off the nearest cliff. I didn’t even want to read her POV at first, but it ended up offering sharp insight into just how manipulative and infuriating she truly is. Lincoln better stay alert, because Sarah is definitely plotting something that will be his downfall.

I’m hooked on this series and already counting down to the next book. Outstanding work.

This book had me in all my feelings! I assumed after seeing the videos posted about this book, that Gabby was the work wife. Boy was I wrong! Oh Lincoln is the worse husband who lied and cheated because he wanted to. That is my only explanation because he should have had all he needed in Gabby. I’m not sure I want an HE because she deserves so much better but I got to hand it to Alexandria for writing a story that makes you mad, cry, yell and ready to rip Lincoln and Sarah a new one!
It’s a great read with well developed characters just like her other books! Can’t wait for book 2!

Confused is how I’m feeling

Gabby & Lincoln are married but it’s obviously from the beginning he is going to sleep with his work colleague Sarah.
I have to say even after everything he did and saying he regretted it all he still continues to sleep with the woman he cheated with.
I’m just massively confused by that ending also and I just feel flat after reading this.
I’m not saying the book is bad as it covers the grief process of cheating but Lincoln just made me feel icky and Sarah is just awful.

Tough but so good!

This was tough to read at various times but it is soooo good! Triggering at times during the marriage. Lincoln and Sarah are terrible for what they did.
Alexandria da Great is a fantastic writer who knows how to draw all kinds of emotions from you as a reader. And you can't stop reading till you reach the end, because the story and characters get to you. I'll be thinking about this story for a while. I so want to read the next book now.

Refreshing

After reading You're still mine, this book so so refreshingly sad. Gabby is the strong woman that we all hope to be and Alexandria did an amazing job at making me feel like I was right beside Gabby and Lincoln in their individual struggles. The ending truly snuck up on me, it wasn't what I wanted, but it was what I needed. I spent 3 days after finishing this book thinking about it and analyzing each character, at first I thought I wanted a second book. But now I see that there is no need for a sequel. I very much recommend dedicating your time to this book and trust that you would genuinely enjoy it.

Emotionally triggering but also so real! This author is incredibly talented at making you feel all the emotions of wanting to punch a wall and also getting very excited. I’m not sure how many books will be in this series but I’ve read several of her other series and this one have me the most anxiety reading it because I knew it was going to be a bumpy road…. I have a feeling I know what’s going to happen in book 2 and it makes me anxious 😬

❤️❤️❤️

I did really like the book but I didn’t feel like there was any resolution or healing. I felt like their lives would never move forward and they would never heal. And let me just say Sarah deserved to suffer but she won. Ugh.
