Amit Singh's Hard Work, Slow Progress: Why Most Businesses Stay Busy but Fail to Move Forward impressed me. Before my retirement, I was in business for many years. I am afraid I was one of those business owners who thought working long and hard solved all problems. The author argues that properly prioritising tasks and eliminating wasteful routine steps, rather than working harder, promotes business growth. I wish I had the benefit of Mr. Singh's advice when I was in business. The writing flows well, and the author, in jargon-free terms, clearly explains his thoughtful theories. This work belongs on the bookshelves of every business for frequent reference.
