“Stoicism does not promise a stress-free life. It promises a way to stop wasting emotional energy where it doesn’t belong.”

This is my first book on Stoicism, and I felt it was a good introduction to this way of life. I always thought stoicism was about being quiet and non-engaging, but it really comes down to how to react to others and situations.

My biggest takeaway was learning that our nervous systems were not designed to know about what is going on on the other side of the globe; we are here to react to what's in front of us.

Overall, this is a simple read with questions and ways to initiate what you just read at the end of each chapter. This will be a re-read for me for sure.
