I’m glad I stuck with this book after all. It was a charming and fun story. My favourite part was Rhys’ conversation with his father towards the end.
I think the biggest flaw in this book is that it tells us instead of showing us. For example, there’s a scene where Rhys says something along the lines of “if Molly was here, she’d be asking this or doing this”, yet we never (or almost never) got scenes of her actually doing that throughout the book.
3⭐️ it has potential but just needs to be a bit more developed
This is book 1 in the Soulbridge Candies series. Based on book 1 the entire series takes places in the family owned and operated candy store and each book is going to be about the people that work in the candy store.
This book made me laugh out loud, literally. It was sweet, cute, and funny. The characters are an interesting mix and Grandma is a force!
The cinnamon episode killed me! It’s like my eyes were watering thinking about the smell!
Molly works part time in a candy store. Thus one of the sons of the family who owns the candy store. Cuba's grandmother comes in trying to set him up on a date. He notices Molly and says they are dating. Then the fun begins as they start fake dating.. It is humorous has you laughing. It is a very enjoyable book.
What an adorable and cozy romance!! I really enjoyed getting to read this one and see where Molly and Rhys’ story went - I can’t wait to see what comes next!! Thank you so much Elena Hopestill for this brilliant book and your hilarious characters!
For the first romcom I've read I have no true complaints. I found it a bit cliche and apparently am not a fan of switching perspectives. But I didn't wish it was over and it didn't have a needlessly complex conflict
I thought that this book was cute in terms of creating chocolate. Both main characters scared of doing something new and finding their place in life. I loved the decisions the characters had to make, and who doesn't love chocolate?
