When trying to locate this on GoodReads I found that it is the third book of its kind, following the 1880-1993 and 1880-2014 versions, also written by Stuart Farmer.

The premise of this book is to act as a fans guide to the history of Leicester Tigers Rugby Union Team, with particular emphasis on the 2014-2024 seasons. The book aims to provide a recollection of key events and moments over the last 10 years both on and off the pitch. Unfortunately, on this occasion these pages detail a downturn in the fortunes of English Rugby’s most successful men’s club team, recounting seasons full of inconsistent performances, the turmoil of near-relegations and the upheaval of 8 head coaches in 10 years. On a more positive note it also details the foundation of Leicester Tigers Women’s Team and their rise and acceptance into Premiership Women’s Rugby. Each season is provided a 2-3 page spread and is supported by statistics on appearances, points etc.
I liked this part of the book as I haven’t always been the biggest Rugby fan, so some of these seasons were before I started supporting the club, and I therefore learnt a little about seasons and players gone by.

The second part of this book I can only describe as a quizmaster’s dream with over 100 pages full of statistics from every player that has ever played for the club, to the sublimely niche. Whilst I appreciate a good fact (such as Leicester Tigers actually hold the attendance record at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium), and want to respect the heritage of such a historic club, a good number of these statistics will not have changed since the last update. The end result is that the majority of the book is dreary, and I skimmed over the majority.

Overall, I felt that the proviso on which this book was conceived (providing a record of the last 10 years on and off the pitch) should have been allowed to dominate the majority of the book, giving each season more space, time and attention than just 2-3 pages each.
