"Between Root and Sky," a collection of poems by Alicia M. Rodriquez, is a book divided into three sections. Section one: On Love, Nature where many poems are about love but no love so much as sweet, but love that hurts or troubles us. Section two: On Longing, On Loss where the main theme is dead or something associated with it. Section three: On Mysticism, On dream and here God plays a part.
One can see through the poems that the happy and wonderful is not so much part of the book, but the side of life that makes us think and reflects. This is a book that deals with painful moments; moments that make us cry, think , ponder. There is no celebration of the easy life. Life can be hard, but we go on living for we have that will.
One finds the language accessible and the writing full of meaning and not difficult to grasp. A book to see life; what life is made of besides the good moments and the having fun. Read the book for what it offers that is to make us think or pause.

I am extremely grateful for coming across this book in the giveaways and entering. Thank you so much for giving me a copy (ebook) version. If I could give this 10 stars I would! This is an absolutely beautiful breathtaking read. Your words brought joy, laughter and some much needed inward thinking, which I appreciated it. Again I really cannot express how much I loved reading this collection. I look forward to reading more of your work and highly recommend this author.
