"Although The Executioner Series is far and away my most significant contribution to world literature, I still do not perceive myself as 'belonging' to any particular literary niche. Framed for a vicious murder, Mack is sentenced to jail awaiting trial. Unarmed and caged, the Executioner knows it is only a matter of time before his enemies move to end him.
A drastic change for the series, but highly entertaining and suspenseful.

Not terribly complex books but immensely entertaing. Found this series in junior high and can't seem to get away from it. If you like guns, explosions, and the bad guys getting their due, this series is for you.
The lead character Mack Bolan is a vigalante with loose goverment ties who does anything nessacary to make sure that justice triumphs over evil. He battles drug dealers, pimps, terrorists, gangs etc.... throughout the seires with good triumphing over evil and literally thousands of casualties along the way not all whom are is enemies.

This is another excellent addition to the Executioner series by Mike Newton. It's a big twist, in that Bolan is arrested at the start for a brutal murder he did not commit, basically to pin him down so he can be killed by those who set him up, and spends most of the book in jail and on trial. This premise gives lots of play for Bolan to think and talk about his career of vigilantism against the Mafia and other "cannibals", as he calls people who heartlessly prey on others.

Without weapons or even freedom to move, Bolan is unable to apply his usual tactics and must instead rely on people who mostly don't grasp the depth of his peril, and don't necessarily buy his innocence. The return of many characters from Bolan's past - police, reporters, and family - dating back to the original Pendleton "War on the Mafia" books from the 70s, show that the author has done his research and has a good sense for minor characters readers might like to see in cameo roles. Can his allies protect him from his enemies, or at least give him a fighting chance to escape his fate? It's worth the read to find out.

Mike Newton has crafted a masterful Mack Bolan here that has some of the fewest gun play scenes in it of any Bolan, and doesn’t suffer at all for it. You could actually call this at John Grisham-lite as most of it takes place in a courtroom with Bolan framed for the murder of a prostitute. Of course the frame up is only to get bowling behind bars so they can try to assassinate him and that attempt happens very early in the book. A very well written well paced novel with lots of bowling supporters coming into the rescue including Johnny Bolan and Hal Brognola. To top it off there’s a Just explosive Quentin Tarantino style shootout in the courtroom at the end of the novel, which makes up for the lack of action during most of it. A thoroughly enjoyable Mack Bolan novel and highly recommended..

What an awesome story!! The best one yet in my opinion. The mob has setup Bolan for a viscous, sadistic murder in a small Texas town just to get him caged so that they can take him out. The "evidence" is overwhelming but his attorney does a great job showing that it is a frame up. This riveting story is one that you will read in one sitting. I really liked the courtroom scenes because of how poised Bolan was when he answered opposing counsel's questions. You see the essence of the man himself and respect him for the mission rhat he has taken on. Too, it showed his ongoing commitment to 'rid the earth of savages who prey on the innocent.' You can't help but hope for an acquittal or that he escapes despite the fact that yes! Bolan is a killer.

Bolan’s past catches up with him and he is forced to stand trial for his crimes.

While this reads more like a John Grisham novel than a typical Executioner work, it’s still far more entertaining than I had assumed it would be. The last 10 pages are great.

A book exploring what if a trial would have happened. This did not have the usual violence
