What do you do when the neighborhood boy who had a crush on you is now a man and still wants you?

I ate this one up in a few hours. The plot in this book moved fast. I was locked in within the first few pages. There’s a marriage in crisis, why choose, a little revenge, and a love quadrangle (yes, you read that right). Enough mess and drama to keep you thoroughly entertained. All Janine wanted was a little escape back home to Chicago after receiving devastating news, but when Huey finds out his childhood crush is back in town, he doesn’t waste any time applying pressure. I don’t know if Janine was ready for all that Huey was bringing to the table, but she rode the wave and found comfort in him. The more you get into the story, the more it starts untangling family ties and love connections, making this story so good that you will not want to put it down.

Art messed up badly, and I just didn’t understand why it took him so long to tell Janine the truth. Janine started playing with fire. She wasn’t completely innocent, but I get it. And then Art takes an already complicated situation even worse. The amount of time my jaw dropped should be studied because Kaaya, you took me on a RIDE!

I really enjoyed this book, and I cannot wait to get into the second book. I’m ready!

Somewhere Between You Two is straight emotional chaos. The betrayal alone had me staring at the page because the audacity was immediate and layered. Secrets stack up fast, boundaries are blurry, and everyone is moving like their actions will not come back around. I was stressed, entertained, and constantly questioning who, if anyone, was thinking clearly.

Art had me irritated almost the entire time. The entitlement, the guilt-tripping, the way he moves like consequences should not apply to him… I struggled with him heavily. It is hard to watch someone create their own mess and still try to control the narrative. Huey, on the other hand, had me conflicted. He is intense, sometimes sweet, sometimes unhinged, and definitely waving red flags that nobody seems to acknowledge. There were moments I found him charming and moments where I was like sir, please seek help. Both men are messy, just in completely different fonts.

Janine is stuck in the middle of all of it, navigating heartbreak, desire, pride, and self-worth while everything around her feels unstable. The connections between these characters get tighter and more complicated as the story unfolds, and just when I thought I knew where it was headed, I was wrong. This book thrives on drama, tangled relationships, and emotional volatility, and it absolutely keeps you guessing.

3.8 stars for me. Definitely would have been bumped up higher with a few adjustments. There were some grammatical errors and spots that maybe were not edited that kind of messed with the flow but nothing too dire. I love how Kayaa B’s mind works crating these story lines and plot twists. I will say this is worth the read and I am invested enough to dive into part two. This book has many tropes to choose from. Headed to part two to see what else she can shock me with next.

Somewhere Between You Two was definitely a good time. A solid plot and storyline that kept me turning the pages. This book has it all: heartbreak, lust, and betrayal (BIG TIME), and the cliff hanger... my goodness! This is just one more chapter approved.

If you are looking for emotional damage, chaos, and why choose, this is the place you want to be.

Baby!!!!! Could not put it down. I enjoyed this read.

Once a line has been crossed, we got two choices… Either play dumb, or play along. And my girl, Janine got more than her lick back!! 😉

A Wild Ride

I really liked this book. Huey has had a crush on Janine since he was a child. 16 years later they are reunited. Art and Janine (Jae) have been together for 15 years. Imagine someone you know, shows up to say a baby that you’ve been around is your husband’s. Art donated to Ashley and was wrong for helping her, but I don’t think he was being malicious. He should have told Jae what he did, even though I don’t think he knew Ashley would use Janine’s eggs. I feel like Janine should have let him explain himself. Jae definitely had her a hot girl summer with Huey. 😆. One thing I didn’t like, honestly, is how everyone around Jae had no issue with her cheating on her husband. It was a good read overall although everyone, but baby Kennedy got on my nerves, and I recommend that you check it out for yourself!!

JANINE JANINE JANINE?!

This entire read had me GLUED!!! This love triangle that Jae creates definitely has me holding on for dear life. This read is interesting because everybody’s perspectives are completely different. Often times , they characters notice the same and peep some similar things . But how they move about life? Is different!! Two worlds meshed perfectly together and then BOOM! Your past can always come back to haunt you. It’s up to you to decide to embrace the haunting or refuse to entertain it.

Team Huey

I loved this. I thought it was kinda obsessive but also very cute that Huey had a crush since he was 9 years old and was not about to let the moment slip from him. Art is wacccckkkk. Acting like he like that, just a fragile ego.
Can’t wait for book 2. I miss Huey fine self.

Whew... where do I even start?

First things first... we don't like Art. I tried, but that entitlement had me rolling my eyes every chance I got. As for Huey... I liked him more, but baby, somebody needed to slide him a therapist's business card because those emotions were doing the absolute most.

The person I found myself feeling for the most was Janine. She's caught in the middle of impossible choices, complicated emotions, and betrayals that kept making me question everything I thought I knew.

What really made this series stand out was the storytelling. Just when I was convinced I'd cracked the case and knew exactly where things were headed... the Kayaa said, "Think again." Every twist somehow had another twist waiting behind it, and I was wrong more times than I'd like to admit.

This isn't your typical romance where it's easy to pick a side. It's messy, emotional, frustrating, and incredibly human. Seeing the story unfold from all three perspectives added so much depth that I found myself understanding everyone's motivations—even when I wanted to fight them.

By the time I finished, I honestly had to go sit in a corner and process everything I'd just read. If you enjoy emotionally layered romances with morally gray characters, shocking reveals, and a story that keeps you second-guessing until the very end, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.

Sometimes the person who’s always loved you… has been right in front of you the whole time. 👀

Huey has had a crush on Janine “Jae” since they were kids, but life had other plans. Jae has been married to Art for 15 years, building a life together… or so she thought. Then betrayal hits. A baby. Secrets. And suddenly the marriage she believed in starts to crack.

Trying to clear her head, Jae takes a two-week trip to Chicago, hoping distance will bring clarity. What she didn’t expect was running into Huey—the boy who once adored her, now a man showing her exactly how she deserves to be loved.

But feelings get complicated fast.

Because back home there’s still her husband…
and an innocent baby, sweet Kennedy, caught in the middle of secrets that run deeper than Jae ever imagined.

This story had drama, emotion, and that “should I or shouldn’t I” tension that keeps you turning the pages. Just when you think you understand what’s going on… another layer unfolds.

And trust me—that secret? It’s deeper than you think. 😮‍💨📖

Great story line

This would've been a great starter series. The plot and the story line is just the right amount of messy for me. A little spice but not spicy.
The grammatical errors took away some of the umph for me.
Fifteen years of being a devoted wife just to find out your husband betrayed you and theres a baby involved that you grew to love thinking she belonged to someone else. Three miscarriages and he brought a toddler into their home. Running back to her childhood city to get away, she ends up spending three months with an old flame who still tugged on her heart.
Hes loved her since he was nine years old. Now she's back. Although she broke his heart when she left for college, once he sees her, its like she never left. He wants her. He has to have her. If he gets her she's never going back to her husband.
There are too many obstacles. Red tap to cut through but hes willing.
The oldest brother...he's moving pieces and he is the messiest of them all.
The cliffhanger though....omg!

Kayaa is a new to me author and I’m hooked. The drama. The. Drama! The bomb that was dropped on Jae has caused a major shift in dynamics between Art and Jae’s marriage. And one of culprit’s has just vanished. I’m so happy book 2 is out already because stressed is an understatement! I’m so ready to find out more.
