Janine Stewart's marriage is quietly crumbling, and she's running out of ways to pretend it isn't. But going home brings her face-to-face with Huey. The younger boy from across the street who followed her around with stolen flower, wide eyes, and a crush too big for his chest. Now he's grown, steady, and looking at her like she's still the only girl he ever wanted.
Caught between the life she built and the connection she never saw coming, Jae must face a truth she's avoided for years because choosing between two men might cost her everything.
Somewhere Between You Two is straight emotional chaos. The betrayal alone had me staring at the page because the audacity was immediate and layered. Secrets stack up fast, boundaries are blurry, and everyone is moving like their actions will not come back around. I was stressed, entertained, and constantly questioning who, if anyone, was thinking clearly.
Art had me irritated almost the entire time. The entitlement, the guilt-tripping, the way he moves like consequences should not apply to him… I struggled with him heavily. It is hard to watch someone create their own mess and still try to control the narrative. Huey, on the other hand, had me conflicted. He is intense, sometimes sweet, sometimes unhinged, and definitely waving red flags that nobody seems to acknowledge. There were moments I found him charming and moments where I was like sir, please seek help. Both men are messy, just in completely different fonts.
Janine is stuck in the middle of all of it, navigating heartbreak, desire, pride, and self-worth while everything around her feels unstable. The connections between these characters get tighter and more complicated as the story unfolds, and just when I thought I knew where it was headed, I was wrong. This book thrives on drama, tangled relationships, and emotional volatility, and it absolutely keeps you guessing.
This was a ride yall. Kayaa B. has a way of writing characters that make you think about moral compass. Heartbreak, betrayal, lust, & obsession was the perfect combination for Somewhere Between The Two. Definitely has me in the edge of my seat. Hoping for a part 2!
This book made me feel EVERY emotion….The way these relationships intertwine has my jaw on the floor. Ready to see the outcome between Huey,Lexi, Jae and Art!
