This was my first read in Christian romance. I found this book challenging in a few ways. If Naomi had the Christian faith that was inferred, her diagnosis should have served as a place for Joshua and her to move forward, not result in her leaving him with no explanation. A Christian must have absolute confidence in God's plan regardless of any challenges. Then there's the whole female physician trope in which she is so filled with self-doubt and apprehension that she runs away from the love of her life the second time!! Based on her dedication and accomplishments, yet never believing she was good enough, was so disappointing. Such a weak example for a Christian and a female. Also, the beta readers and editors really need to step up their game. This story and characters just didn't work for me. It's a no-go for me.
The continuity errors revolving around transportation first annoyed but then amused me. Example.. he picks her up but then they both have their own vehicles after a fight to leave the area.. they meet up somewhere but he gives her a ride home.. it happened 4-5 times through the book always revolving around the cars..
This is a great story of redemption love. She thought she was doing the right thing but not talking to him is never the answer. When life put them back in front of eachother they are both afraid but the pull and the scared cutie pull them together rather they are ready or not. There were a few missteps in timeline and locations but easy to follow.
This was my 1st book by this author and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. This book was just the right length. I loved Joshua and Naomi and of course adorable Wren. I won’t spoil the storyline but although it has a beautiful HEA you will definitely need the tissues. Lots of emotions, ups and downs but no unnecessary angst. Thank you Elle ❤️
A very sweet story, made me cry at one point. Lovely book. It's one I would recommend for anyone with faith but also something I am sure those without faith would still enjoy
If you’re really looking for a christian romance, this is not for you. It is more of a closed door instead. The story is not that long but it was draggy and repetitive I actually struggled to finish it. I just pushed through waiting for a redeeming part which did not happen.
I liked it, but I wouldn't say it grabbed me in. There were some conflicting information, and at times I felt like things were over explained. In the beginning it's briefly mentioned how the FMC thought she might have been pregnant, and how the MMC's was pregnant from a one night stand. Towards the end of the book there is a lot of prayer, faith, and going back to God talk. There was one mention of "tangled under the sheets together" but if you aren't paying attention you'd probably miss what that might imply.
