My imagination has always been a live wire—transforming ordinary books into portals and narratives into landscapes where I’d find myself delightfully stranded. The classics captured me first: the monster-slaying heroism of Beowulf, the book-burning dystopia of Fahrenheit 451, the linguistic transformation in My Fair Lady, the savage descent in Lord of the Flies. These weren’t just stories—they were revelations that language could unsettle, enchant, and alter reality. This early love affair with words eventually drove me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Literature, where my passion for storytelling didn’t merely intensify—it exploded into a constellation of possibilities.

My notebooks filled with half-finished tales and midnight inspirations, but life’s unexpected currents swept me toward shores I never planned to visit, forcing me to shelve the manuscripts that whispered of the writer I longed to become.

In the meantime, books became my oxygen. I devoured everything: dragons soaring over fantasy kingdoms, vampires stalking moonlit streets, spaceships hurtling through distant galaxies, hearts colliding in both candlelit manors and modern offices. Genre boundaries meant nothing to me—only the promise of being transported elsewhere mattered. The hundreds of stories I’ve consumed blur together in my memory, but I’ve never closed a book with finality. The last page is merely a doorway that leads to the next waiting world.

Now, after decades of filling journals that no one has seen and collecting ideas like seashells that never leave my pocket, I’m stepping out of the shadows and onto the page.

Consider my stories a temporary visa to elsewhere. If they work their magic, you’ll find yourself wandering through dreamscapes long after you’ve set the book down. If they fall short? Well, you’ve still stolen a few hours away from the grinding machinery of the everyday—and I’d call that no small victory.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kimber Kross delivers an absolute triumph with Carnival Eclipse. The descriptions of the carnival are so vividly sensory that I truly felt like I was there—I could easily picture the sights and almost smell the air.

The characters completely stole my heart. I loved experiencing the world through Juno's infectious excitement and wonder. Maya brings an inspiring bravery to the narrative, while Eli's strength and loyalty to his friends anchor the emotional core of the book. Trent's humor also adds a great touch to the dynamic.

If you want a book that completely transports you into a magical, mysterious world with unforgettable characters, Carnival Eclipse is a must-read!
