Saving Serendipity by Chelsea Colt is an emotional and compelling story about family, self-doubt, and personal growth. The novel follows a woman who is unexpectedly thrust into the role of caregiver for her sister’s children alongside her brother-in-law’s best friend. As she navigates this new responsibility, she wrestles with deep-rooted feelings of inadequacy and unresolved abandonment issues stemming from her own mother.
One of the most powerful aspects of the book is her internal struggle—questioning whether she’s capable of giving these children the stability and love they need, while fearing she might repeat the same mistakes she experienced growing up. Watching her character evolve and grow into her role is both heartfelt and rewarding.
The twist at the end involving her mother adds an extra layer of depth to the story, and Javi’s love and support bring warmth and balance to the narrative.
While I did notice a few typos throughout the book, they didn’t take away from the overall reading experience. The storyline remains clear, engaging, and easy to follow despite those minor issues.
Overall, this is a touching and meaningful read that highlights resilience, healing, and the true meaning of family.

Do you remember the movie Life As We Know It with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel? This book is a similar premise - a couple with young children die in a car accident and leave the kids to her sister, Liz, and the farm & horse business to his best friend, Jovi. They all grew up together and there’s some serious enemies-to-lovers plot that follows. This book doesn’t delve deep into the emotional healing journey of the children, but instead shows a found family that supports each other and finds a new normal with a lot of maturity. Jovi is a good man - I don’t care what misgivings Liz is carrying over from their childhood. No spice, just clean romance. I really enjoyed this book and would read the next book in the series. One more read through with an editor would be beneficial, but the errors are minimal. Would recommend.
Amazing. Emotional. The heartbreak that comes with loss is so hard to get through. This book shows you that you don't really get through it. You live it daily and make new routines to make the heartbreak just a little easier as each day, week or year passes. I love these characters and the storyline. My heart hurt so bad for this family. The twist was so amazing. I couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend this read but with a box of Kleenex on hand, you are gonna need them. I cried sad tears and happy tears. I laughed at the banter and cried at the loss.
Books like the is are my favorite… one where I stumble across it and end up loving it so much! I fell so hard for Liz, Jovi, Remmi, and Gavin and company! This was so good and so heartwarming but also gut wrenching. I was laughing, crying, and falling so much in love. I can’t wait to read more of this series!!
This was an easy, heartwarming book I gobbled up in 2 days. It’s a stand alone, clean love story, but personally I’m hoping she continues the series. It’s sweet, and loving, and hopeful, and avoids all the romance tropes of the moment.
