* Note: I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. *

Reading Dime Store Hitman feels like sliding onto a barstool in a slightly seedy dive bar and striking up a conversation with the delightfully drunk-adjacent regular a few stools down. And I mean that in the best possible way. He’s friendly, he’s funny, and he can spin one hell of a story.

Dime Store Hitman follows Eddie “The Cowboy” DelDuco, a bargain-bin hitman with a gift for turning garage sale junk into murder weapons and an inexplicable passion for ceramic lawn décor. When Eddie gets tangled up in the absurdly vicious world of Los Angeles influencers, wellness gurus, pimple poppers, and podcasters, chaos and hilarity inevitably follow.

Fast, weird, violent, and laugh-out-loud funny, this book is the perfect beach read, plane read, or “I need something wildly entertaining right now” read.

I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK AS AN ADVANCED COPY TO READ AND REVIEW.

This read was one that was simply hard for me to put down— it was a fun, silly, fast and easy read that had you quickly immersed into the story, and before you knew it, you were already well at one hundred pages at your first sitting. What an addicting book, the perfect kind of book to wind down to and have a laugh to yourself over at the end of the night. This was hard for me to stop, I’m so very glad I got opportunity to read the misadventures of Mr. Cowboy and the campy portrayal of a modern day Los Angeles. Can only hope to read more of him in the future. This was an enjoyable, fast paced read that I highly recommend.

The "cowboy" was an interesting and unique character. In spite of myself, I found myself laughing at his antics and approach to his jobs, until the kale episode and that was a repeat trick. The investigation had me worried for the cowboy's longevity! I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and that's when paranoia would set in for me. Is someone watching? That's not a relaxing way to live, always looking over your shoulder.

I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest review.

What a great read and ride!

I really enjoyed this book. The story being centered around Los Angeles and its locations is something I always love, and it added a great atmosphere to the experience. The book is entertaining from start to finish, filled with memorable characters and situations that all intertwine perfectly into a fantastic first installment of the trilogy. I can’t wait to continue the ride with the second and third books.
