Abbey's Attachment is a book in a multi-author series Westward Home and Hearts Mail-Order Brides.
It is a stand alone story but it does continue the search for Sapphire Widow. It is a quick read and complete story with of course lots of mystery and danger.

In this story Buck Nash is an undercover detective who is trying to get the widow out of hiding. So he decides to send away for a mail order widow in hopes that he can get her to respond to his request. So when his bride steps off of the train he is totally surprised to discover that he had been corresponding with the only woman he has ever loved Abbey Bradford. He didn't recognize her married name and how was he going to explain that she wasn't the woman he expected.

Abbey and Buck had been in love four years before but her father would not allow him to marry her. Instead he picked the man who she would marry who had been abusive. She was finally free of him when he died. When her father passed away and she inherited his fortune and businesses, someone tried to kidnap her in Utah where she lived. She decided to escape whoever was after her by accepting a mail order marriage in Willowhaven, Montana. Since Buck had used a different name in their correspondence, she was so surprised to find he was her groom. Now maybe they could have the marriage they had both wanted.

It soon becomes apparent that danger has followed Abbey to Montana so Buck will have to protect her as he tries to get to the bottom of the situation. It actually seems to be connected to his case with the Sapphire Widow. Buck will have to reveal the reason he sent for a bride which may cause Abbey to distrust him. Will they ever get to have he marriage they both desire?

Buck was courting Abby when her father told Buck that he would never be able to provide for Abby like she should be. Buck left, heartbroken and Abby was betrothed to Jack Bradford. He and her father passed and there were many men wanting only for her fathers business and her wealth. She was almost kidnapped. That is when she answered an ad for a mail order bride thinking anonymity would help her hide from danger. Traveling from Utah to Montana, when the train pulls in, the name of the man was not who showed up to greet her. It was none other than Buck! Now Buck has a secret to reveal to her, but he is afraid it will ruin their reunion. He works with the marshals who are after the Sapphire Widow. When a tall stranger rolls into town asking about Abby, Buck and the sheriff go on high alert. The suspense pulled me into the book and I could not put it down!

Abbey's Attachment will certainly keep you interested, on what will happen next. Abbey is arriving in Montana to become a mail order bride. Her life hasn't been the same, since the death of her Father. What she didn't expect is to find the love of her life to be the intended groom. Buck felt the same way and was now afraid of what would happen next. Abbey is in danger and Buck is going to do everything he can to protect her. Action filled story.

Sweet love story

Buck and Abbey had been sweethearts during their young adult years. However, Abbey’s father arranged a marriage with a man with money so she could live in luxury. Buck, heartbroken left to pursue a new life. Four years later, a widowed Abbey came in on the train.

Good story line

Good story line but seemed unfinished. The.Sapphire Widow was never identified and could still be a threat. Or, with Oliver locked up, a note from her That she was through with him, and she was moving on would have finalized that. Other loose end, who was going to run the steel company?

Buck and Abbey

This is another exciting story set in Willowhaven. There is plenty of danger and excitement and a bit of romance. I liked reconnecting with characters from other books. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
