Wanted: Sexy sun-kissed surfer for hot summer fling

Parker Hargreaves is determined to make amends for treating Alexia badly all those years ago. He's changed and wants her to think better of him. If that means letting her sharpen her sexual moves on him so be it. He’ll do it. His playboy reputation certainly won’t suffer.

He just doesn't count on walking away being so hard.

The blurb seems to have a good grasp of what the story is about. But the title does not properly reflect the content of this book. I don't think anyone would see Parker as a playboy. He is actually a great guy.

Do I find the story refreshing? Yes.
The plot never turned into a senseless drama with typical paparazzi gossip circus, jealous ex(s) everywhere, and jersey shore TV soap opera.

The romance?
This is my first book by Madeline Ash and I am curious enough to stop by her website. She wrote “ I write contemporary romance novels with humor, sensitivity, and the hot tug of attraction.”

The Playboy has all three elements: humor, sensitivity, and the attraction.

I will surely check out her other books;)

The Playboy is the third book in the Hot Aussie Heroes series written by different authors and the first book of four in Madeline Ash’s Rags to Riches series.

Madeline Ash is a new to me author but I don’t expect that being so for very long. Her writing style is delightful as are her characters and her storyline is unique.

Sun, surf and sex in Byron Bay.

Love it!

The Playboy is the third book in the Hot Aussie Heroes series but the books are written by different authors and they can be read as standalones.

I didn't like the first book in this series, The Cowboy, and the second book, The Hero, was just OK. I didn't love it. I felt the same with The Playboy.

Thanks again for the arc! :)

Let me illustrate my initial reaction to The Playboy. It went a little something like this:

“What the fuck? What the hell is your problem?”

“What a major cock.”

“Fucking dick move.”

“Asshole.”

I was prepared to hate Parker, but I had no time for that.

Parker had clearly changed from the brainless, irresponsible, and lustful teenager he was six years ago. He stopped thinking with his dick and used his brains for the better.

When Alexia returned to her hometown for “research,” she found it difficult to be in his presence or even to spare a glance at him. When she looked at him, she could only see the past Parker. How can you blame her? Even though she was timid, she wasn’t afraid of him, not in the way Parker thought. I like that Alexia wasn’t bitter and thorny, poking at anyone who came near. Angry for a while, yes, but she didn’t raged on about her virtue and played victim, especially the damsel in distress.

Nothing felt forced between Alexia and Parker. The chemistry and attraction felt natural. They felt right together. Though I raise some objection to their "love." The bond was definitely more physical.

I’m comforted that Dee didn’t push the issue with Parker and didn’t press Alexia into using him as a “fling.” If Dee had kept persisting, I would’ve loved to add her to my “bitches-for-best-friends” list.

Overall/Main Thought: The Playboy was a fast-paced and sweet read with just a twinge of angst to twist your heart. The decisions that led to the pair’s temporary separation were logical. They needed the time to figure out their future without throwing their goals, dreams, and passions into the wind.

The sex scenes had enough steam, in case you’re interested (; and the ending was agreeable. Not theatrical and forced. Alexia and Parker were rewarded with a happily ever after.

Also, there weren't any irritating repetitions in the story and the conflict didn't drag on and on. By the time I was halfway through this book, I was confident I wouldn't hate it.

The author definitely can improved the title. The Playboy gives off a playful and lighthearted vibe and doesn’t suit. This is a book about Parker's present identity, is it not? Obviously, his past identity is an essential part to the story and connects to the title, but The Playboy discredits Peter for the great man he is. The contrast between present and past is evident already.
I also understand "the playboy" is the reputation that Alexia remembered of him and she's supposed to learn that people can change completely, but the title should be worthy of Parker and suit the moral of the story. A title that stands out and is memorable.

A sweet romance set on a beautiful Australian beach.

Preparing for an upcoming movie role, actress Alexia Burton, returns to her hometown to get some experience with a man. No one knows she is still a virgin, but her audition didn’t go so well because she just didn’t know what to do with a man. Now, it’s do or die. If she expects to get the part, she has to learn how to act with a man.

While out surfing one morning she runs into her old classmate Parker Hargraves. She remembers him as the cocky boy who tried to get her in bed when she was a teenager. She set him straight. She was not that kind of girl. All grown up, Parker has really changed, both physically and professionally. Alexia has decided he will be the one she gets her experience from. What happens when they both start developing deeper feelings for each other? Will Alexia be able to move back to Los Angeles where her career is?

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters seemed very real.

I would give this a 3.5 rating. it was an okay read.

Alexia and Parker where acquaintances in High School and also at one point worked together at a coffee shop for a time with Alexia's friend Josh. Alexia was attracted to Parker who was hot and full of on himself young man.Parker's family was well off and he loved to surf. At one point he made a play for Alexia and she turned him down knowing who and what he was. He was humiliated, hurt and in turn hurt her right back. They never spoke to each other for the rest of their senior year.

Fast forward years later. Alexia is an successful actress in L.A. and trying for a part that requires her to be well versed in the bedroom. Alexia is lacking very much in that department and has decided she and her friend will head back to her home town of Australia for a three week working vacation. Her friend Dee is encouraging her that it was time to gain some sexual experience for her role. She proceeds to somewhat coach her in picking a guy for a one night stand and to gain experience.

Parker is now running his family's business and is a changed man. He had a devastating loss of his mother in an accident that changed is perspective on life. He works hard and gives back with running a charity and finds other ways to help when he can. Runs the family hotel and bar with his friend Josh who is in a band that plays at the bar at times. And that is where Alexia is staying with her friend Dee.

Alexia is surfing one morning and that is where she then sees Parker and they reconnect. Alexia remembers the old Parker. Parker feels terrible for what he did to Alexia and how he hurt her. He proceeds to try and convince her that he's changed. Both are still very attracted to each other. The story really takes off with Alexia fighting their attraction and Parker trying to convince Alexia he's changed. Parker realizes he has feeling for Alexia that he's never experienced before. Their romance slowly begins with Alexia fighting her feelings knowing she leaving in three weeks and their relationship just couldn't work long distance.

This was a pretty good book. At times slow with the history of their past being told in the first few chapter. It did feel like it dragged for a while. But it picked up pretty good in the middle of the book. My other issue was the end. It was a quick fast wrap up that made me feel somewhat cheated.

4. 5 stars! I really enjoyed this tale of sun, surf, sex and second chances. More than anything it made me long for the beach and warmer weather.

Parker was an absolute jerk as a teenager, especially when it came to his sense of entitlement over women and he definitely didn’t treat Alexia well at that particular point. However, I do think Alexia might have overreacted just a little, especially since she’s had six years of hindsight. No, he wasn’t a nice guy at seventeen, but I think that can be applied to a lot of people. Her absolute refusal to believe he might have both grown up and changed showed a real lack of maturity on her part – and was possibly the only bit of this book I didn’t like.

Because adult Parker is an absolute sweetheart. He might own businesses and raise loads of money for charity, but he does it in bare feet and spends every early morning out in the surf. And this time he wants to matter to Alexia. He listens to her, understands her problem and does everything he can to help her out – sure it’s not entirely selfless, since he wants her every bit as much as she wants him, but he makes it special, because he wants to prove that she matters to him this time. Aww.

I loved how he handled the attraction between them, drawing it out, encouraging Alexia to find him, to take control, to develop her confidence. Not only was that useful for the role she was preparing for, but it was also sweet and sexy. I loved the slow build up, which considering this is only a novella was handled really well. And I especially loved how there wasn’t a quick fix to all their problems, no easy sacrifice without any regret. It made the ending all the sweeter for me.

Short, sexy and sweet, I really enjoyed this book. A perfect slice of summer Aussie sunshine on a cold northern winter night.

The Playboy by Madeline Ash is Book 3 in the Hot Aussie Heroes series. It's a really quick read. It was a fun and sweet romance set in Australia.
So the story goes like this (with no details lol): Alexia is an actress and lands a role that she HAS to do some research for. I say HAS because she has to be intimate in the role and she's a virgin with very little experience on what to do with men! Cue, Parker. Parker is an old friend from school. When she goes home to find herself a man to get experience with, she runs into him. And, she decides that HE's the one that's going to give her the experience she needs!
That's the backdrop for you. Now you see why I say FUN! I really LOVED Parker. And his character was very well defined. I didn't really see him as 'The Playboy' that the title sorta makes you believe. Yes, as a teenager, he was a cocky, self absorbed boy. But what teenage boy isn't? Right?!?! His role in this book was perfect. He was all grown up and a really good man now. He understood Alexia and knew exactly how to draw her out of her shell. It was a really GREAT read!

Very enjoyable read. This is an interesting story of an actress who needs a little experience in the sex department so she returns home to Australia to find someone to help her with her education. When she runs into someone from her past who had a reputation of a playboy he seems like the perfect candidate. The storyline was very unique and I really liked the characters. I recommend this one.

Loved It

Parker had everything. He got a job to have something to do, he met Josh & Alexia at ache then they worked together. He tried to make a move & she shut him down. She moved to L.A. To become actress & was doing great but had to work on some things for a part. She & her friend Dee came to Byron to work on it.

A second chance romance, of a sort

Alexia and Parker, old high school acquaintances and co-workers, meet later in young adulthood, where Alexia attempts to right her high school wrongs, just as Parker has.
Love in paradise is a brilliant by-product of her return.
A great story.

What a great second chance romance

First book by this author but not my last. What an enjoyable second chance romances between Parker and Lexie. I loved the push / pull between these two and the secondary characters Lexi and Josh were just as fun to watch although Lexi could get annoying at times. I had more fun watching Dee and Lexi honestly. Dee is Lexi's best friend and she comes to Australia with her from LA. They are the total opposites in personality. This book had the perfect amount of heat in it and it was a great way to meet a new author for me. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

I read the Hot Aussie Heroes series back to back. This is Book 3.

This was quite a pleasing read for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is the best written book of the four in this series. We learn more about the characters than we had in the first two books: we know that Alexia has emotions deeper than just "I want to have sex" and she is keen to make sure she takes a lover that she has some connection with. There is some integrity about her character. Also, Parker and Alexia have a history - and it isn't a good one - and she is slow to be attracted to him because of it. She distrusts him - as anyone would. He wasn't a nice guy when she had last seen him. Parker acknowledges his past and is keen to make it up to Alexia and he displays emotions and insecurities along the way that warm the reader to his personality.

Also, it was an interesting storyline. Alexia needs an acting role but she has to learn how to be more convincing in intimate scenes. Parker is a brash and confident guy and the chemistry between the two is a slow-burn. They discover things about each other - and themselves - in the process.

The other thing I really liked was the character of Dee, Alexia's best friend. She knew what Alexia needed to do but didn't force her, didn't just rush her into a one night stand and, for that, I liked her. Not to mention that she also had a little bit of a side fling that kept her occupied while Alexia and Parker worked through their differences.

Overall, a very good read - especially in the sexy romance genre.

Parker is your typical over-indulged, spoiled brat man. Entitled to everything and doesn't understand that not everyone wants what he's offering. As a teen, he is forced to take a job to learn how to be less of brat. He takes one at the local coffee shop, and becomes friendly with Josh and Alexia. Both are nice to Parker, and Parker, mistakes Alexia's niceness for her wanting him to take her to bed. When Parker tricks Alexia into going home with him, and introduces her to his bedroom, he is both shocked and confused that not only does Alexia not want to sleep with him, at 17, she hasn't slept with anyone, and has no plans to sleep with anyone until she has established her career as an actor.
Cut to 10 years later, when Alexia and her friend go back home to Australia on a quest- Alexia is up for a role as a sex-pot bounty hunter. Her problem- she still hasn't slept with anyone, and her lack of allure might just cost her the role that was written specifically for her. Her quest is to find a man, sleep with him, and go back to LA to nail the role. Unfortunately, Alexia isn't the one night stand type of girl, and cannot commit to sleeping with just any man.
When she and Parker meet back up, sparks fly. Parker has changed his entitled ways, and after earning Alexia's trust and friendship, eventually agrees to help Alexia overcome her "allure" issue. Until their hearts get involved, and then everything Alexia has worked for might get thrown out the window.
I have to say that this was a very sweet story, but unfortunately, and I'm not sure if it was because it was an advanced reader copy, but it was incredibly confusing. I was never sure who was speaking, or what was internal thought or actual dialog between characters. Maybe it was because the writer was Australian and only used one quote mark instead of the two (i.e: 'he said' as opposed to "he said") I am used to, but either way, I never knew where the dialog stopped and narration picked up. There were a few other instances of not being sure what was what due to language barriers, but again, this was an advanced copy, and this all could have been fixed before it was published.
Overall, if you are looking for a sweet, romance, then pick this up. You won't be disappointed!

If only we could go back and fix our teenage selves – most of us have made some pretty nasty impressions and mistakes in our teens. Parker was no exception. His wealth, his good looks, his worship me just because attitude, his arrogance all played a part into the teenager he was. The boy who, with a few brief words could shatter another teenager’s confidence..

Alexia had moved on from those teenage memories. She had left home to head to the bright lights of Los Angeles and a career that put her in front of the cameras. After a long ongoing television series filmed its last season, Alekia started taking auditions for her next role. A movie role that she was told was written for her – but not the passionless woman she was right now. This role called for a sensuous, sexy, secure in her own attractiveness woman – one who knew her way around a bedroom and a bed… and that wasn’t Alexia.

Time and life experiences change all people eventually. Parker certainly had grown up and looked back on his teenage self with many regrets mostly about Alexia. Now she was back home – for research for a role. Maybe there are second chances or at least the possibility to make amends.

I enjoyed The Playboy – more than I expected to at first. This was a charming story of two people who had a point in their past that had to be dealt with and gotten past before anything, even friendship, could begin. I liked that Alexia gave Parker a hard time at first, maybe even drew it out a bit too long. He had been a colossal jerk. But wasn’t she doing the exact same thing years later – in the name of research?

Their love story, their mutual seduction takes up the novel and it was certainly a slow burn. I would gladly recommend The Playboy to anyone who wants a love story that redeems the past and makes it even better. This one got a 4 outta 5 rating from me.

I love the setting of The Playboy! The ocean, the sand, the salt, and the heat...I could feel it all! Madeline's descriptions took me right there to where the waves are. Are more waves than just in the ocean!

Alexia and Parker have a history, and not one for the memory books. But Parker is no longer the teenager Alexia once knew, and she has a hard time seeing this. He made assumptions then, and now Alexia is the one making assumptions. Parker's outlook on life, his goals, his ambitions have changed remarkably since they were teenagers. He has goals and is an asset to his community. He has thought of Alexia over the years, and seeing her again brings back the attraction, but in a more mature way. He seeks forgiveness for the past, but can Alexia forgive him?

Alexia is one determined lady with goals and a life ambition of her own. She is not back for real fun, but 'research'. When it seems Parker is the perfect match for her research project, can she follow through? Alexia doesn't want forever or romance...and even though she feels way more than she thought she would for Parker, can she have a vacation fling with no regrets? Parker is ready to give it his all for the time they have, romance and everything. Their lives are continents apart, and love is not on Alexia's list of things to do...

I liked the prologue to The Playboy, I felt it set the story up well for the lead in to modern day Alexia and Parker. I liked the unique story line and the smooth flow of The Playboy. The main characters have a very obvious attraction to one another, even if one of them is not looking for anything more than a vacation fling. The chemistry they have is palpable. While neither of them really jumped off the page to me, the issues they were dealing with had a realistic feel and it was interesting to watch their characters evolve. I liked the strong secondary characters, Dee and Josh and wouldn't mind if they had a story all of their own!

Just the right length for the story being told, I'd recommend The Playboy to contemporary romance readers looking for an entertaining, quick read.

The whole plot was a bit unusual to me. The scene, the beautiful beach and the life that Parker led was not the norm but I am in America and they are in Australia so IDK. The fact that the heroine was so uptight was unusual for me too. I thought Parker was a good guy, not a playbook.

Madeline Ash - The Playboy

Literature quality :: 3 stars
Enjoyment quantity :: 3 stars

Alexia Burton. Brown hair. Brown eyes. LA actress.
Parker Hargraves. Blond hair. Green eyes. Lullabyron owner.

Australia. Byron. Surfing. Beach. Second encounter. 3rd POV, alternating. LA. Contemporary romance.

The prologue is something! Date back to when both MC were 17s. It made commit to read in spite of the horribly small font it written in. After all, when was the last time you find a girl who actually turn down a popular handsome richie rich that coming onto her because he held captive by her weirdness all summer? Like actually turned down, not because of pride or hard to get plot, but because she only admire him in platonic way. And ofcourse that boy never experienced a rejection.

Alexia. I like her. She has a ball. Their banter somewhat stiff, but powerfull. It is cute how much Parker need Alexia permission as if he afraid he would hurt her again.

Nothing like a playboy gone good story. Always interesting to learn the why and how. This book covers the why right in the prologue. The storyline basically seeking redemption to the woman he wronged once upon a time that eventually become the very scene sobering him up. Parker character is pale comparing to Alexia though. Oh! He has a cat!

Brushing the knot thing. Darn, its soooo romantic and intimate. The ending is a good choice, not abandoning each worlds, but somehow too hard to make it work.

The combination of the sunny Australian coastline, along with falling madly in love, creates The Playboy by Madeline Ash. An embarrassing and heartbreaking prologue draws the reader immediately into this entertaining romance, with characters that are likeable, fun and distinctive. Unfortunately, I found the pace to be a little slow and the plot a bit repetitive, especially during the first half of the book.

Alexia Burton grew up in Byron Bay Australia, where she dreamed about becoming an actress and moving to Hollywood. Along the way, she went to school and worked with Parker Hargreaves, the richest boy in town, who also happened to be the best looking and most obnoxious. One of their handful of encounters proved to be a major humiliation, which both of them have filed away but have never forgotten. Now it is five years later, and Alexia is a successful TV actress in America. Parker is a successful businessman, running his father's company, as well as his own trendy bar and grill. Alexia is on the cusp of breaking into the film industry, but to obtain the role of her dreams, she needs to first experience lust, desire and sex, so she can incorporate it into her character. Once they sort out their past, which includes a lot of honest communication, Parker is able to help Alexia achieve her goals.

Ms. Ash does a wonderful job of describing the setting, to the point where I felt like I was on the beach with both Alexia and Parker, soaking in the sun. The book cover perfectly depicts the setting. The two secondary characters, Dee and Josh, add some additional interest to the storyline, and Dee especially provides some laugh out loud moments. Overall a solid read.

Alexia Burton grew up in Byron Bay before leaving to pursue a successful acting career in LA. Now she needs to be able to act out love scenes but she’s still a virgin and hasn’t met anyone who has attracted her in any sexual way since leaving home. So, with the aim to get experienced so she act out the part in the new production, she returns to her original home town.

Six years ago Parker Hargreaves worked at the same cafe as Alexia but he was a rich kid, totally sure of himself as God’s gift to women and he is now ashamed of how he tried to have sex with Alexia.

Six years have passed. They have both changed in many ways but the chemistry was always there between them, even when Parker was being a jerk! Will he be her ideal research material to help her rehearse for her new role or will the past get in their way? Will she find anyone else to help her?

I really enjoyed how the author showed the attitudes of the characters and how these have changed through the years. Their motivations and the impact of events on their lives made them seem well rounded characters. This is a romance involving all the s categories - sex, superb sunny, setting, sacrifices and second chances. It is an enjoyable story which shows that sometimes things aren’t straightforward but things can be fixed if everyone works together to the same goal.

This is the third book in this series but they are all written by different authors and you don’t need to read them in any particular order, they all work as standalone stories and have all been great reads!

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Though this is Book 3 in the Hot Aussie Heroes series, I started with this one and it can definitely stand alone.
Alexia Burton has become a successful actress, but to take her career to the next level she needs sexual confidence that she doesn't have. She has spent all her time concentrating on her career and is still a virgin with no experience with men, and it showed in her audition for the roll that was written for her. To gain the experience she needs, she heads home to Australia, as far from Hollywood as she can get.
Unfortunately, the first handsome man she meets is the one she turned down in high school. In High School, Parker Hargrove thought only of his next conquest, believing no girl would turn him down. Alexia was the first, and he reacted badly and the way he treated her was a big regret for him. When he runs into Alexia he hopes he can make it up to her, and when he finds out why she came home, he throws himself into helping her. As they get closer, Alexia's time runs short. Both of them have lives that are important to them, but half a world apart. Can they make it work, or will it be the quick fling Alexia planned all along?
A cute story, I really enjoyed the characters. They worked well together, and you could see the growth in both. They were realistic in their actions and behaviors, and I think the author developed them well. A fun, quick read with a great setting.

When Alexia is on a mission for an upcoming film the first place she thinks is to go back home to Australia in hope to find a quick fling and be back on the next plane home, with her best friend in toe off they go. Only when they get there Alexia has a run in with her arch enemy from high school and is ready to go toe to toe with him. Parker on the other hand wants nothing more than to apologize to Alexia for his bad behaver in high school. I have to say that out of 3 of the four books I have read from the Hot Aussie Heroes series this one would have to be my favorite. The story is well written the emotion is so strong and the characters truly feel like friends. The author did an amazing job with this story. I love however in all three books the biggest thing that is playing is the need to help others and the selfless acts that is shown and given. I really think you will not be disappointed with this book. I can also say that you will want to read the books in order:
Book 1: The Cowboy by Margareta Osborn
Book 2: The Hero by Amy Andrews
Book 3: The Playboy by Madeline Ash
Book 4: The Millionaire by Victoria Purman
Don’t let the names of the books fool you they are not self-absorbed characters that you will end up fed up with or annoyed by this book and the others are totally worth the read.

Warning, strong language in all the books, may not be suitable for younger readers.

THE PLAYBOY MADELINE ASH

Wanted: Sexy sun-kissed surfer for hot summer fling.

Innocent Alexia Burton needs to become sexually confident for an upcoming acting role, and that means taking a lover.

Someone she’s attracted to. Someone who’ll teach her what she needs to know, but not ask for more than she's prepared to give. She needs to learn the intensity of true desire and then have him walk away.

Parker Hargreaves is determined to make amends for treating Alexia badly all those years ago. He's changed and wants her to think better of him. If that means letting her sharpen her sexual moves on him, so be it. He’ll do it. His playboy reputation certainly won’t suffer.

He just doesn't count on walking away being so hard.

Ah, if this story doesn't want me to leave this winter, cold and snow behind, and embrace the sun, the surf, the sand... Preferably in Australia!
I love stories that are based in Australia, the nuances of the culture, language with unique sayings is just fascinating.
The story is easy to relate to, I mean, who doesn't have that one person in our teen years, that we made a mistake with, with words or actions, and we wish we could just take it all back. So much so, that the event might have changed us as a person. And what will happen when/if you meet that person again, talk about awkward...
So after many complications, and despite the past history, Parker and Alexia not only become friends, but start a holiday fling. But emotions go deeper, falling in love doesn't ask for permission. There's sweet, tender yet passionate relationship, some past and present pain to overcome, compromises to be made, meeting halfway to be accepted.
It was delightful, and partly amusing, to see Parker and Alexia work the past, and start to build the relationship. I liked that they both realized they were indeed privileged in their positions in life. The stubborn streak, career oriented attitude, and broken heart, teach both of them lessons in life. It was a quick read, with sunny skies, and lovely beach town atmosphere, but it also had an interesting life lesson, and the ending was just so perfect...

The Playboy is one of Holiday Books' Hot Aussie Heroes series and it doesn't disappoint.
Parker is wealthy, successful and smokin' hot. And boy did he know it as a teenager! Spoiled and accustomed to getting anything he wants, any girl he wants any time he wants them, he just expects that when he snaps his fingers at Alexia she'll fall into line and jump into his bed.
Alexia certainly finds Parker attractive so when he asks her to his house to "show her something" she goes. When she finds out his plans involve messing up the sheets together however, she refuses, leading to a major dummy spit from Parker.
Roll on six years. Alexia is now living and working in Los Angeles as an actress but needs to do a sex scene, something she is struggling with because she's the "never been kissed" girl. To get the part she needs experience and to get experience she decides to head back to her home town. Once there it is a short step to Parker becoming the chosen one.
Madeline Ash has captured the essence of sun, surf and sand and that casual beach holiday lifestyle that is quintessential Byron Bay. Her characters are believable, the plot has a lovely balance between the young Parker and the adult Alexia. The story completes itself well and I'm happy to recommend it for anybody looking for an uncomplicated and fun read.

The Playboy, The Hot Aussie Heroes Book 3 by Madeline Ash I found to be a standard romance read. I was not familiar with Madeline Ash. However, I will read anything that Tule Publishing puts out. They are my first go to on Amazon for romance. With that in mind, I wanted to read this series, but this one is not one of my favorites.

I have given this some thought as to why this is not a favorite of mine from the series – Hot Aussie Heroes. The story is well written with the past background of the main characters provoking me to keep reading.

So what stopped me from loving this book? While it is true that it is hard for me to buy into stories of actors/actresses. That is not the reason. I like Alexa pretty well and wanted her to be successful. I think that the main reason is the “Playboy” Parker. He is hard to like at times. Even he realizes that he behaves like a jerk. I do think that this is realistic and often played out in real life just like this. Hence the problem, I like my heroes to be better than those I have known, which why I would think of them as heroes. Maybe Parker does comes through in the end, but his behavior falls short along the way.

NetGalley provided a copy.
