What a delight of a book! This very much spoke to everything I love in books - from Jane Austen to funny dialogue to just a little bit of danger (because although we know in a romance they're going to be fine, it is nice to have moments of doubt along the way so the end is more satisfying).

My only complaint is that the cover doesn't feel like it has anything to do with the book itself - but given I read it on ebook, I think I'll survive 😂

I cannot deny that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one because of its references and allusions to all of Jane Austen’s works (yes, including *Lady Susan* and the BBC production of P&P), the Brontë sisters’ masterpieces, and the sly mentions of Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Oscar Wilde, Ann Radcliffe, and many more.
