A Man Called Moe

Rate this book
James Wilson reflects back on his life as a nine-year-old growing up in East Austin. James had to deal with the struggles of an abusive father, a constantly beaten mother, and the streets of the black community. He finally finds comfort when he disregards the warnings of his parents and the people of the neighborhood and befriends Moe, the neighborhood homeless man. Their friendship flourishes, and Moe becomes the male figure James greatly needs in his life. James takes the stereotype that everyone uses against Moe and shows them all that you can never judge a book by its cover. This is a must-read for anyone who has ever judged a person before getting to know them. This heart-warming novel is one that you will have trouble putting down.
