I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Seduction's Kiss is a great beginning to the new Allure Chronicles series. It re-ignited my passion for more of Alyssa Rose Ivy's paranormal genius.
Our first glimpse into Seduction's Kiss introduces Reyna and Daisy. Reyna is Daisy's good friend. She is compulsive, go-wherever-the-the-wind-may-blow you kind of girl. and a magnet for trouble. She has cooked up an adventure that will take Daisy on the wildest ride she's ever been on...literally. Daisy is the good girl. Always dresses appropriately, is respectful, and stays out of trouble. She has no idea of the trip on which she is about to embark. But ready or not, here she goes.
As the tale begins, we are present with the young women as they take the drive to New Orleans. Upon arriving at their destination we meet Chad, the "one that got away" from Reyna, and Daisy's suspicions of being third wheel are finally solidified. His buddy Shaun is also present and would love to think of himself as the ultimate lady's man, but may just be a crazy creeper. And then there's the last roomy, Duncan. We are warned that he is a little off-kilter, but have no idea just what kind of side he gravitates to. As would be typical of college-aged students, the group decided that bar-hopping is a priority on their to do list. We follow them as they go from place to place, and are witness to the first brief "moment" for Daisy with Owen. As the night progresses, Daisy finds herself in one infuriating situation after another, and she makes us aware in very plain terms that she really needs for this trip to end. When we see her again, she is contemplating her present situation and decides that she would be better off on her own. After some wandering, she is led to a very interesting shop where she accepts, rather hesitantly, a special gift. Halloween night is the game-changer. We find that this night takes her deep into a world that dreams and nightmares are made of, and then into the arms of an angel.
I loved that Daisy is a no-nonsense kind of gal. Her sweet and polite exterior made way to a strong and self-preserving woman. As I read her interactions with Chad and his friends, I laughed and cringed. Poor girl, I just wanted to pick her up and take her away. Her inner-dialogue was absolutely the best; good thing she had a strong filter! I was so excited when I knew that Owen was going to be included in this story! Add together Daisy's self-made attitude and Owen's protective Pteron nature, and I am pleased to say that the scene is set for another hot paranormal-romance read.
