Had promise
The premise was decent, the pacing could've used some work, and the side characters I cared more about then the MC. All of which I can ignore until we get to a scene where he has to unlock the shard from the random woman he paid 17 marks for to save her. Somehow the MC comes to the conclusion with absolutely no prompting, hinting, or otherwise clues that the only way to make a soul bond to unlock this girls divine shard is to have sex with her......not an oath, gias, pact, some kind of vow or maybe ritual they have to find or look up. Nope the only way to do it is to have sex with a girl who was kidnapped, abused, and accidentally killed her family all while facing the prospect of dying.
If the MC was openly sleazy or had the thought process of being sleazy I wouldn't have minded but somehow no he's just a goody two shoes that says he's looked the other way and sold people out to survive, but we see none of that mentality surfacing it's just told to us. Would've been great in the synopsis if they would've just said it's typically harem slop smut, my expectations would've been lower.
