He’s the government’s most dangerous weapon.

She’s the one thing he can’t control.

Jonathan “Hammer” Davis was built to follow orders. Enhanced DNA. Perfect reflexes. No fear. No weakness. He’s the soldier Project Genesis depends on, the one they send when failure isn’t an option.

But when a mission uncovers horrors buried beneath the Genesis labs, Hammer’s world unravels. His loyalty is tested, his humanity fractured, and his heart claimed by the one woman who makes him question everything he was created to be.

Leah was never supposed to fall for a soldier like Hammer, lethal, loyal, and haunted. Yet in his arms she finds safety… and a love so consuming it terrifies them both. But when his next mission goes wrong, love becomes the one weakness neither can afford.

In a world built on lies, love might be the most dangerous experiment of all.

Great world building in this book. Enjoyed the set up of the super soldier, and the behind the scenes secret military operation. The falling in love kind of happens a bit more suddenly. Would have liked a few scenes to build to some emotions, mostly it's a chemical thing between them, maybe from his soldier alterations. I mostly see that characteristic in shifter romances more. But who is to say a super soldier is a bit like a shifter, really.

But, totally kept me wanting to read more and find out the ending. Good short read. And this is the first of a like, 19 book series. Phew! That's a lot of military men for ya.

Interesting premise. Love the military secret world created. Wish there was a little more build up of feelings between them, thought the chemistry is obviously strong. Makes you want to date a military guy. Gives the lead man a sensitive, gentle side to his strong masculine military strength. This is book one of like 19 books in the series. You can get hooked and have the promise of many more to come.
