Small Favors and Big Rewards (Book 16) in the Easton Family Saga is a page turning mystery with a small town Lake Huron Michigan setting and relatable characters. The story flows and a variety of plot twists keeps the reader engaged. Hope Callaghan’s style includes a character list and tidbits from the previous stories plus sometimes a connection with other series (Wynn Harbor Inn) to refresh the reader's memory of past events. With a limited attention span this reader enjoys Callaghan’s writing style: short paragraphs, limited description passages which are interspersed with dialog.

Affairs of the heart is the theme of Small Favors and Big Rewards (Brett & Morgan, Quinn & Brett, and Jax & Ronni.) Foreshadowing and red herrings has this reader wanting more, especially when the Nosy Nellies Vloggers check in to the Locke Pointe Bed and Breakfast. Or when something doesn’t sit right with Travis Mason’s curiosity about the Easton’s family connection to the island. What are the pros and cons of real estate development? As an Oma with middle school granddaughters, I also want to protect students from the haters of the world. This reader chuckled at how Elizabeth (the backbone of the Easton family dynasty) and the movie star Harlow Wynn handled the Renauld bullies. Hope Callaghan addresses these contemporary issues seamlessly thought this intriguing mystery. This reader even learned a new term: skibidi.

If you've read the previous 15 books in this series, get ready for the most exciting book yet!!!! Oh My Stars!!!! My heart is still racing! If you've not started this series, do yourself a favor and start!

Morgan Easton has had to deal with many issues since inheriting property from her mother and learning she was part of a wealthy family who owned the majority of Easton Island. She moves to the island, partially located in Canadian waters and partially in American waters. She lives in the home her mother had left her and met the grandmother and step brother she didn't know she had. Morgan has also learned about the other part of her family on her mom's side, the Locke's and, having inherited her grandparents home as well, converted it into a bed and breakfast which has become quite popular with travelers visiting the island.

The love she found in this new family is so endearing. This story includes an update about Morgan's ex husband who had previously tried to kill her and his current situation after being released from prison on a "technicality". A stranger comes to town and starts causing concern for the Eastons. Love is in the air for one of our favorite couples. Tristan, Brett's 11 year old son, new to the island, finds himself bullied in school, but neither Morgan, Brett or his great grandmother will stand very long for that!!!! So much is happening at one time and Harlow Wynn (if you know, you know!) makes a cameo appearance that will have you cheering!

I laughed and cried while reading this story. Have a tissue ready and dive in!!! Best book in the series hands down!!!!! Have you ordered it yet???? Don't wait a minute longer. Enjoy!!

Another excellent story in the Easton Island series. Changes are coming to the island, as well as to the Easton family. Whether they are good or bad remains to be seen.
This story has an emphasis on Tristan, the newest member of the family, who is continuing to adapt to life on the island with his father.
One long standing cliffhanger, and source of concern is resolved this time.
This is a series that definitely needs to be read in order.

Honestly, it's like getting an update on wonderful friends and their lives. Some news are wonderful, some sad, some long awaited, and some just give you pause.
For Morgan Easton - everything is about her newfound family, old and new friends, and making sure their lives are as happy as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes a tragedy opens a new path and newfound freedom.

Another quick read

Since I'm now caught up reading series, it doesn't take long (usually in the first 2 pages) to sink into the storyline and feel back at home on Easton Island.
Hope, if you ever read this review, I'm to the point where I don't want this series to ever end! It's like catching up with old friends. Awesome series. You won't regret reading!!

Not A Satisfactory End

This book ties up a lot of loose ends like it was meant to be the last book, but the end feels like a big old gaping hole. It feels like half the book is missing. The sub plots are insubstantial, and missing details..
