This has got to be the dumbest start to a book ever. Elena feels the mate bond snap into place without even looking at or touching her now mate, Alaric. She glances at him, he looks at her. He immediately gets angry thinking she’s an assassin. (It was so stupid.) He rejects her and has guards escort her off the property. The end to their brief encounter. Seriously. That was it.
A week later she takes a pregnancy test and is pregnant when they didn’t even share a hug, let along sex. wtf!!!!?? What kind of stupid conception is this!?
Then you have dumb dialogue: “Where will you go?" Maya asked again. Elena had spent the afternoon researching small towns, places far from the Northern Territories. "There's a town called Pinehaven. Four hundred miles north. Logging town, mostly human, low cost of living. I can disappear there." "How will I find you?" "You won't." Elena closed the suitcase, zipped it shut. "If Vivienne tracks you, if anyone questions you, you need to be able to say honestly that you don't know where I am." What!?!? Did you not just tell her where you went. Why the fuck is Maya asking “where are you going?” Right after Elena said I’ll go to Pinehaven.” This is seriously the dumbest book.
The story line was decent but the author tried to move the story forward without the reader understanding the Wolf genre she has going for. Wolves getting pregnant without sleeping together is interesting. I also don’t understand why she had to put in the teacher made $48,000 a year over and over and over again. The story was nice but it needs work.
A story of a betrayal of a foolish King because he's weak and believes a traitor. Twins born after the rejected moon goddess bond. The price he has to pay to live with his actions. This is their story. There are no love scenes in this book.
I liked this book not quite what I was expecting I had issues with how some of the contents came together so I probably wouldn’t read any more in this series
