USA Today bestselling author Regine Abel is a fantasy, paranormal, and sci-fi junkie. Anything with a bit of magic, a touch of the unusual, and a lot of romance will have her jumping for joy. She loves writing hot alien warriors meeting no-nonsense, kick-ass heroines. Her novels are steamy, action-packed, and with the twists and turns you never saw coming.
Before devoting herself as a full-time writer, Regine had surrendered to her other passions: music and video games! After a decade working as a Sound Engineer in movie dubbing and live concerts, Regine became a professional Game Designer and Creative Director, a career that has led her from her home in Canada to the US and various countries in Europe and Asia.
This was such a fun and smutty read! The novella follows Coral, a novice witch who, after accidentally summoning Vazul, a sex demon, must decide whether she wants to keep him or not. The smut was smutting in this book, and I loved every depraved minute! Vazul and Coral were so good together, and I loved how enamored he was with her from the very beginning. He was completely determined to make her life easier and it was so sweet to see how much effort he put in to be needed and wanted by Coral. If you're in the mood for a novella that's more smut and magic than plot, this is the book for you!
So this was a smutty, fun but at times cringey romance. By cringe I mean… her name is Coral Reef and this book including the word: skibidi . I almost DNFed there, but I’m glad I persevere because this ended up being lots of fun.
This had the perfect blend of plot and steam. Let’s talk characters our FMC is Coral a novice witch (who seems to be so novice she might as well be human) and Vazul her accidentally summoned sex demon servant?... let’s just call him her boyfriend, because lowkey this dynamic could have skewed problematic. Coral is not keen about having accidentally summoned and in turn taken Vazul into servitude, but he needs direction from her too live and get energy from her. He is basically an incubus (don’t tell him that) with more rules and hoops to jump through.
Despite, the honestly sketchy premise of their dynamic the relationship is kind of sweet. Coral is very timid and not confident, but Vazul helps to build her up. Unlike his prior mistresses/masters Coral isn’t keen to exploit his services to build her wealth which endears her to him more.
Overall, pretty damn solid for my favorite kind of urban fantasy smut. 3.75 stars I am looking forward to the other books in the series by the other authors!!
There are moments in life when you seriously question your own decision-making skills. Today, that moment arrived when I debated, long and hard, whether this book deserved a spot on my Goodreads. In the end, I added it purely for record-keeping purposes. Don't come for me. 🫣
To my friends and family: no commentary will be accepted at this time. Please pretend you never saw this. If you bring it up at dinner, I will simply pass away.
This book was… an experience. I consider myself a seasoned veteran of monster smut, seen things, read things, survived things… but this one looked me dead in the eyes and said, “Not today.” And yet? I was entertained. Confused. Slightly concerned. But entertained.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but only if you’re feeling feral, unhinged, and aggressively horny. Pro tip: abandon all expectations, clutch your pearls loosely, and keep an extremely open mind. 👌🏼
JAJAJA QUEEEEEEE Mira. Nada q decir. Se lee en dos horitas muy agradables. Fin
Thrilling, delightful romance! The story is well-written, and the characters within are fully developed. I can picture myself in their story, perhaps with a loving Liderc of my own. Coral is a sweet, empathetic woman who is fortunate enough to have gained Vazul - a Liderc. I love her creative mind: the miniatures she creates sound fascinating. Vazul has such potential for a different style of life, but I adore that he responds so well to Coral’s personality. The two of them bring out the best in each other. Do read this delightful story. I love it!!
It's clearly a rush job. The story is fun but it has so many.. not even typos, just wrong words here and there, it takes me out of the world immediately. on top of the quick description from the Liderc's POV of things happening as we hit time skips. I wasn't super fond of the obvious use of terms like obsessive compulsive tendencies or the single mention of ADHD and then lack of full representation for what the main described as her experience with it. These disorders exist, yes. but they felt lodged into the first half of the story just to seem inclusive and they never pop up again, not even the behavior of any tendencies. I technically DNF cuz i couldn't bother with the epilogue.
This was a short, easy read. And it was an interesting enough storyline but some of the wording stopped me in my tracks because it was so strange/ cringe. For example:
“Either way, this entire situation sucked hairy donkey balls”
After that line I started keeping track.
“Why was she so damn butt hurt?”
“While I didn’t sleep around, I had no qualms about partaking in some consensual skin on skin time”
“A big fat pile of stinking poo was about to hit the fan”
And then the MMC had some strange lines too: “this throw? Great idea, wonderful color and placement that brings life and warmth to the room. But it’s too stiff to feel natural. Here’s what I would have done instead…”
That sounds like a response from chatGPT if I asked for feedback.
But overall I like the story, and there were plenty of things that made it unique and memorable compared to other things I’ve read.
This is the perfect amount of plot and the details are 🔥 🥵 steamy. I absolutely devoured this in one sitting and wow, I was lost in this world. Sign me up to hatch an egg because I volunteer as tribute.
A sweet little romance that I fell in love with too
For a short book, the plot and conflict wrapped up nicely and I enjoyed the characters but hated the bad one.. It was super cute and fell in love right along with them!
Cute and spicy easy read about a witch who accidentally gets herself a demonic helper that stirs up her life. In the best way possible. If you like monster romances and want an easy short read, this is for you. The series is literally written by all the queens of monster romance.
I forgot this author isn’t for me. I did not like her Prime Mating Agency series either.
There is a reason you put trigger warnings in the front of the book. When you stop a scene to have the characters have an inner monologue or dialogue about cringey “emotional safety” during whatever good ole debauchery you are writing, it takes away from everything. If you wrote the characters well in what you want to display in their chemistry (emotionally safe sex) then you don’t need to break this down like we are watching 7th heaven. But that’s just me 🙃
Fun, short smutty read, but it fell a little flat for me! Probably too short to get some real character depth and the inner mologues during the smutty scenes made it feel a bit awkward lol
Oh how much I was looking forward to this and it just fell flat. The foil to our MCs was comically over the top evil and vapid. The relationship felt 2D and honestly boring. And the overall plot was incredibly dull. What a letdown.
Demon. No virgins. Witch FMC. Furniture making? No stuffing/stretching/cums early/cums in pants. No OMD. Some OWD as the evil lady tries to steal him away. No cheating. No breakup. No angst. No plot. No interest. Epilogue with them loving each other.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Main Characters > Coral Reef (27) - Witch > Vazul (Over 1000 Years Old/6’4) - Liderc/Sex Demon
Side Characters > Angelique Delaney (5’10) - Witch/Coral’s Ex-Roommate & Nemesis > Mrs Hopkins (Late 50’s) - High Witch/Examiner of the Council/Cora’s Ex-Landlady
The idea of the story is what pulled me in but the delivery was what let me down 😴 The amount of times I nearly DNF’ed this book 😫 I forced myself to finish it because it was only 158 pages long I was hoping that it was just one of those books where it took a bit of reading before you started to enjoy it but unfortunately, it just dragged on till the very end. I ended up skipping/skimming most of the chapters as I just wanted to find out how the story ended.
This story ends with a HEA for this couple 🙂 There is an Epilogue. Up next is “Ooops! I Summoned a Metamorphic Monster”. I’m going to give this one a try as it’s done by a different author - Opal Reyne. Her “Duskwalker Brides” series is on my TBR list so hopefully I'll end up liking her writing style.

Being a decent human being (and not wanting to pay a cleaning fee on the apartment they're moving out of), Coral picks up the last of her former roommates belongings from the apartment they just moved out of. Little does she know she's about to change her life in a BIG way.
Because one of the items she picked up is an egg that hatches a sex demon. A sexy sex demon. A sex demon who REALLY wants to treat her like the treasure he knows she is. Coral isn't exactly sold on the idea of owning another being, but her entire self rebels at the thought of handing him back to her old roommate. She might not know what to do with a sexy demon, but she doesn't want him exploited or otherwise abused.
On Vazul's end, he's never had a master (or mistress) who treats him like he matters. Coral is kind and caring and the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to make sure she has an easy life with plenty of success. While some of that is genetically engrained in him, he LIKES the woman he's bound to more than he thought was possible.
An ex-roommate who's a little power-hungry, more than a few sexy times, a hunky demon who doesn't like bothering with clothes (at least not easy to remove clothes), and a newbie witch who is about to find her groove and her special someone all in one fell swoop!
This is a fun paranormal monster romance. It’s part of the Witches Love Monsters multi-author series, which features short monster romance standalones.
Human witch FMC Coral finds herself picking up her ex-roommates’ belongings after they’ve all moved out. As one does, the landlord stuffs a strange egg under Coral’s armpit, and she soon finds herself on a long, sweaty bus ride and ultimately hatching a liderc. Said liderc is MMC, who is like a cross between a genie and an incubus, eager to serve and service his mistress. Oh? Ohhhhhhhhh…
This was a super fun start to the series. I adore Regina Abel, and this was no exception. It’s a fun, spicy, quick read. I enjoyed learning about the Hungarian lore, the magic system, and the details of Coral’s art, as well as how Vazul wanted to help her with it. It was cute, and there was even some plot.
I can’t wait to see what the other authors have in store for this series!
Spice 4.5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
i love anything from regine abel and i especially love a good accidental demon summoning i love that these fun little novellas with different authors has become a more main stream thing coral is a very very novice witch and it forced to pick up stuff her old roommate left so they don’t get a fine after moving out (we’ve all been there) and she ends up with this non-descript rock that looks like an egg and after a lot of bad luck events, the egg hatches and out comes a sex demon, a lideric vazul is perfectly witty and confused why coral is confused lideric’s are hatched and then they serve their master (sex, chores, etc) until one of them dies basically and coral has a VERY hard time with this concept and i like the way it was done, very much a rewriting of their bond and circumstance as coral is a pure hearted witch the villain was perfectly done in the form of a mean girl and we saw justice at the end with a little espionage but let me tell you, i need multiple diagrams of these positions bc how the hell i will be reading the rest of these ofc
This was a fun and spicy read from Regine Abel! It was a great read to end the year, and the first book in the Witches Love Monsters series.
If you love, hot demons, loveable characters, sweet witches, and a fun plot that’ll keep you reading, this is the book for you!
Coral and Vazul are such a great pairing, and I absolutely loved the way he supported her and helped her find her own footing and confidence. I am always weak for an MMC who shows the FMC just how amazing she is. And of course a sex demon MMC means the spice in this one was 🔥
Regine Abel writes some of my favourite monster romances, and this one is no exception. I couldn’t put it down!
I loved it! It has the fast paced, tight plotting were used to from Regine but a lot more spice lol.
A green witch aquires a black egg from which the liderc hatches. And like a genie, he belongs to her since she hatched him. I loved how possessive he was of her while also wanting her to claim him.
Had so much fun reading this story and can't wait for the others in this series! Full HEA with a new couple showing up in each book.
Read whatever makes you happy fellow book lovers and then tell me about it lol.
This is such a sweetheart love story. Also a coming out of one’s shell story for Coral. She is a fledgling witch who did not even realize that she had powers. Poor Coral was taken advantage of by Angeline one of her roommate. Angeline treated Coral like a door mat. One day, when Coral was picking up the remaining items from their apartment, Coral was given a special egg. This changed Coral’s life. There is a happy ending. Read On!
This is a fun and spicy little book! I love the relationship between Coral and Vazul. He is so protective of her and really helps build her confidence. Especially with Angelique who totally deserved everything that was coming to her. Whereas Coral teaches Vazul that he has worth beyond just sex and doing whatever his master tells him to do. I’m so excited for the rest of the books in this series and this was the perfect book to start the new year with.
