The Sunbound King
The Sunbound King s a slow-burn, high-stakes romantasy with with mythic undertones, rich atmosphere, and emotionally complex relationships, perfect for fans who love morally complex characters, royal intrigue, and ancient secrets―where kingdoms prepare for war, the crown is built on secrets, and a prince must decide what he's willing to become to save them all.
Power always comes at a price, and Silas is starting to realize just how much it will cost him.
Now that Silas has broken the curse in his blood and come back to life, he is fighting to control dangerous magic that shouldn’t exist. As threats gather beyond his borders and secrets unravel inside his court, he must protect his kingdom while hiding the truth about what he’s becoming. But the greatest risk isn’t war--it’s the people he can’t bring himself to let go.
Seren wanted a quiet life. A shop. A future that belonged only to her. But her growing reputation as a witch draws the attention of King Seirus, and his fascination quickly turns into something far more dangerous. What begins as a game of curiosity and charm threatens to pull her into a web of power, obsession, and choices she may not survive.
As alliances crack and ancient magic stirs, Seren and Silas are forced to navigate a dangerous line between loyalty and desire. The closer they grow, the more the world seems determined to tear them apart--and the more impossible it becomes to decide whether love is their salvation, or the thing that will destroy everything.
Because some legends aren’t warnings. They’re promises.

About the author
Krista Ross
3 books7 followersKRISTA ROSS is a fantasy author who grew up in a small, developing community in Canada. Always a creator, she would spend her days roaming the woods, building tree forts with construction scraps, and getting lost in the made-up worlds of her imaginings. That passion for worldbuilding never went away, and now she loves to throw her characters into those beloved wooded adventures that took up so many of her days.
Outside of the creatives, she is deeply fascinated with psychology, particularly the fields of early development, trauma, and psychopathology. This is something she strives to incorporate into her writing, particularly when it comes to creating deeply relatable, flawed, and morally grey characters.
When she is not writing, she is probably painting, learning a new craft, playing ukulele, or dancing in the grass with her son.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I gave The Dawn of Stars 4 stars and really enjoyed it, but The Sunbound King absolutely blew me away. This was everything I wanted from the second book and more.
Fae, witches, warlocks, evil gods, magic, romance... honestly, just give me all of it.
The pacing really found its stride in this book. Everything flowed so well that I genuinely struggled to put it down, and the world I loved in the first book felt even bigger and more developed this time around.
The slow burn was SO GOOD. All the will-they-won't-they, we-shouldn't-be-together tension is apparently exactly what I need in my life. And while Silas already earned himself book boyfriend status in book one, Felix has now casually wandered in and joined him. The list grows. 😂
I also loved seeing the magic develop further, particularly watching the prince discover what he is capable of and actually start using his powers. There was so much more going on in this book, but it never felt overwhelming or like the story was getting lost amongst it all.
This is exactly why I don't give out 5 stars easily. I loved book one, but book two took everything I enjoyed about it and levelled it up. I couldn't put it down, I didn't want it to end, and now I need more.
An easy 5⭐️ from me.

Review of advance copy received from Author
A wild ride continuing the journey of Silas and Seren. This is a beautifully written fantasy which keeps you guessing at every turn, leading you to cry—laugh and fall in love even harder with the magic, the characters and the world around you that Krista has built. An excellent extension of the universe she is building. Proud to have read it as a beta reader and proud to have gotten to know this amazing author as she embarks on her journey.
My hardcovers of both are on the way!
