Following the aftermath of the events of The Dawn of Stars, Silas is struggling to come to terms with what he now knows about himself and his magic. With a new threat looming a little too close to home, he must work to maintain his image and his kingdom while someone close to him is working to unravel everything he has built.
Meanwhile, Seren is delicately balancing the life of a simple apothecary and wanting to publicly claim her status as a witch, and in doing so attracts the attention of the king. But he is not interested in banishing her—but something much more sinister.
KRISTA ROSS is a fantasy author who grew up in a small, developing community in Canada. Always a creator, she would spend her days roaming the woods, building tree forts with construction scraps, and getting lost in the made-up worlds of her imaginings. That passion for worldbuilding never went away, and now she loves to throw her characters into those beloved wooded adventures that took up so many of her days.
Outside of the creatives, she is deeply fascinated with psychology, particularly the fields of early development, trauma, and psychopathology. This is something she strives to incorporate into her writing, particularly when it comes to creating deeply relatable, flawed, and morally grey characters.
When she is not writing, she is probably painting, learning a new craft, playing ukulele, or dancing in the grass with her son.
A wild ride continuing the journey of Silas and Seren. This is a beautifully written fantasy which keeps you guessing at every turn, leading you to cry—laugh and fall in love even harder with the magic, the characters and the world around you that Krista has built. An excellent extension of the universe she is building. Proud to have read it as a beta reader and proud to have gotten to know this amazing author as she embarks on her journey.
