On her twentieth birthday, Amy Summers is whisked away to another world.
Pangaea-a Utopian society where the arts are not only studied, but mastered. A culture without gods, government, or gold. A beautiful place unmarred by war or suffering.
Each new discovery on this world pulls Amy deeper under the Pangaean spell. From its pristine air to the family she never knew existed, every day surprises her with new wonders.
The Pangaean's well-blended mix of magic and science, along with their empathic connection, and unique moral code frequently leave the young woman amazed, baffled, and always off balance, testing everything she thought she knew.
Her mother is dying, and soon, Amy will inherit her role as Morgan and learn to work the seemingly-magical force of the Bidding to keep Pangaea safe. Before she is fully trained in the use of the Bidding, Pangaea is invaded.

A.J. Questerly has given us a rousing view at a new world. In her science fiction, new adult fantasy. She offers us a broad vista of Pangaea, a fresh unspoiled world, inextricably and hopelessly tangled with our own Earth. From its broad open space and clean air to its amazing architecture and eye-popping art to its strange collective magic and bizarre cultural mores Pangaea is a place most of us would be more than willing to emigrate to.
Amy/Amia, a tall beautiful mixed race 20 year old, isn’t given a choice. She is taken to Pangaea from Earth, dragged away from everyone and everything she thought she knew, to a supposed utopia, where secrets and conspiracies bubble just below the surface. Everywhere she looks she is pulled in, trapped deeper and deeper under this worlds spell until she realizes that this is the world and place she belongs. Finding family and friends she could never quite acquire on Earth, she becomes more at home than she had been at home. But, thing are not always what they appear to be and she soon learns that everyone, from her dying mother to casual strangers on the street, want her to leap into a pivotal magical role to save their world and destroy Earth.
This book is clear, clean, and concise. The author has given us a plausibly crafted alternate world where magic and science coexist. The magic is understandable and, as much as magic ever is, it is logical throughout the story. The science is … well, fictional, but not so far off the mark as to be a distraction in this fast paced and highly entertaining book.
Although this isn't my usual genre I was quickly drawn in to the Utopian world of Pangaea. The characters and the world itself pulled me right in and I kept reading well into the night to find out how the heroine, Amy, would find her way in Pangaea.
Unicorns and dinosaurs, magic and mysticism. Hope for two worlds and all the inhabitants. A fun and inspiring read.
Anna Questerly is a fantastic writer. Pangaea is Utopian Fantasy fabulously written, with intriguing characters, and a beautiful vivid world.
Ms. Questerly immerses the reader into her world from the first sentence of the book.
You follow Amy (Amia) on a journey of self-discovery and strength on a world she never knew existed. No spoilers this is a world each reader needs to experience.
Your imagination will run wild.
Nicely done Ms. Questerly. I can’t wait to read more of your work. Keep them coming.
Normally I do not read fantasy books, however, this was an amazing book. I couldn't put it down. The author grabs your attention from the beginning and draws you in making you want more. The characters are well developed and make you feel what they are feeling and going through at the time. There is only one disappointment and that was the book ended! I encourage everyone to read this book and immerse yourself in another world.
I always respond positively to authors with the skill to construct flowing, ‘blank-verse’ sentences disguised as prose. Just one example will give you a flavour: “This vision quivered in her mind, much like the heat radiating from a highway in the distance on a scorching summer day.” This is a well written, well-structured book with cleverly woven story strands, perceptive characterisation and important issues to ponder. On her 20th birthday, music student Amy discovers there is much more to her than she ever dreamed. Transported to a parallel dimension, she finds herself in a utopian world – Pangaea – where things are better than on Earth in oh so many ways. In Pangaea she discovers that she is in fact Pangaea’s new Morgan, and the fate of both worlds rests on her as yet untrained shoulders. However, she has unwittingly placed Pangaea in dire danger from invading humans, led by power-crazed oligarch Julia Wellingham, the wealthiest woman in the world… I was a little fazed at times, if I’m honest, by some of the more utterly fantastic ‘scientific’ achievements of the Pangaeans, but remained engaged with the central premise that Pangaeans had somehow managed to develop qualities found in the best human beings to banish war, hunger, want of any kind and develop a world where all creatures coexist in empathic, symbiotic harmony. I could certainly empathise with the idea that the collective will of the people provided their Morgan with the power she needed to keep their world safe. How that world manages to defend itself against an invading strike-force of humans who represent everything that is terrible about us as a species is what the book is about. The number of 5 star reviews the book has garnered is testament to the skill with which A.J. Questerly completes her mission.
Pangea is a magically wonderful world full of beautiful people, interesting society and a place where sickness isn't a problem. This story pulled me in from the very first word to the last. I wanted to know more about what happens. I'm ready for the next book. This book will be a great addition to your bookshelf.
