Ohmygoodnessthisbook. Bear, Greta, Logan, King, and Atlas's (yes, I'm putting the dogs in there--they're vital to the story) story was outstanding. It kept me on my toes--initially there were all kinds of unknowns happening (who is terrorizing Greta, will Bear and Logan ever be able to make a family together, is there any way that Greta's sister could actually still be alive after 15 years? and of course, will Greta and Bear stop dancing around each other and get together already???) and just as you think one thing is resolved and phew, now I can take a breath and relax a little something else happens to remind you that no, everything *hasn't* been resolved yet. And the stress ratchets up once again.
Not to mention this book had me full on crying three times--happy crying as well as sad. Darn you, Ms Burrows. My eyeliner was NOT prepared.
As always, I love seeing all of the Valor Ridge people come out en masse to help our MCs--they embraced Logan like he'd always been there, and were there for Greta and Bear every time they needed them, for as long as they needed them--seeing them all come together to celebrate the good parts just made my heart happy.
Evander's story is next ( Breaking His Exile ), and we get a taste of what it will be like in the epilogue--needless to say, I'm ready for it yesterday. It's not due out until July, though, so if you by chance haven't read all of the Valor Ridge books up to this point, you've got time! Personally, I can't think of a better way to spend it <3

There was something about this one, so much going on, lots of drama, good and bad. We start out with Bear getting his son after many years and it's not good between them. Bear needs the patience of a saint to deal with Logan, Logan is surly and quite frankly scared. It's not until after he's been with Bear a bit and they are able to talk, that he realizes he's been lied to about his dad. It's nice the relationship they managed to build and looks to be a solid start for them.
Then there is Greta, still searching for her missing sister after 15 years. This does get resolved in good and bad ways. It will be interesting to see the aftermath of this on many levels.
Then we have Greta and Bear, who are fighting the attraction they have for each other hard. Both of them should stay away from each other due to what is going on in their lives, but they don't. It's great to see them build something, to be there for the other as rough things hit them, to have someone have their back. They deserve the happiness that surrounds them at the end.
Then there is Greta, still searching for her missing sister after 15 years. This does get resolved in good and bad ways. It will be interesting to see the aftermath of this on many levels.

I've read each book in the Valor Ridge series and this one is by far the most emotional one IMO. Now I don't cry easily but this one had me with a lump in my throat and blurry eyes a few times.
Bear is an former Ranger who has been living at Valor Ridge for the last four years after doing in time in prison for hitting a man who fell wrong and died. He's been keeping mostly to himself, his only company his dog King, but his world is about to be turned upside down when he's informed that his ex-wife died in an accident and his son Logan (now 15) will come live with him. He hasn't seen his son since he was three and Logan has always been told his dad was a bad person so Bear has a hard time building a relationship with him. He ends up renting a house right opposite Greta, the woman he pretends not to want but can't stop thinking about.
Greta leads a SAR team (Search and Rescue) and has her own business. For 15 years she's been searching for her twin sister Alice who disappeared. She's been following leads that so far have led to nothing but more heart pain. She's also dealing with Hank Goodwin who keeps harassing her, completely obsessed with her.
Bear and Greta have a kind of push/pull relationship, they're dancing around each other but are reluctant to do more. When the threats grow more dangerous however Bear is the one who's there for Greta, whenever a new tip leads to nothing, it's Bear who supports Greta. Bit by bit they grow closer.
As always the rest of the Valor Ridge crew is present too, ready to jump in to help whenever one of them is in need. And although Bear pretends he doesn't need any help, he's grateful when he sees how they take in Logan. They do everything to make him feel at home and show him who his dad really is. The banter was yet again hilarious especially River's antics made me laugh out loud.
I loved everthing about this book, the funny moments, the immense sad scenes that nearly broke my heart and the surprise I didn't see coming.
Evander Cole gets his story next and from the little sneak peak Tonya gave us it looks like a mighty interesting story. Can't wait to see who gets to break down the wall around grumpy Evander's heart.

This is an incredible action story about a former combat medic who was dishonorably discharged, imprisoned for a bar fight that went wrong and is working hard to become the man who can do right and not lose his temper as in the past. His across the street neighbor is an outdoor outfitter who also does SAR (search & rescue) with her dog Atlas, who has been searching for her missing twin for 16 years. She drives him nuts taking so many risks! This book has a lot of action, emotional growth for Bear, Logan and Greta, and a fabulous love story. I loved seeing Bear find his happily ever after with both Greta and his son.

Bearing His Sins is book 4 in the Valor Ridge series. Valor Ridge is a ranch owned by Walker Nash that takes military ex-cons after they are released from jail to help them readjust to life on the outside. Book 4 is about Bear and Greta. Bear was a former Ranger who ended up doing time after he punched a man in a bar and as he fell he hit his head and died from a head injury. Greta leads a SAR team, Search and Rescue. Greta’s life revolves around her search for his twin sister, Alice, who disappeared 15 years ago. Bear’s life has just changed in a monumental way when he receives a phone call informing him that his ex-wife has died in an accident. He was asked to come and pick up his 15 years ago old son, Logan, who he hasn’t seen since he was 3. Bear moves off the ranch and ends up right across the street from Greta. Bear and Greta had been circling each for a couple years and proximity pushes things along.
Bear struggles making headway with his son who has some preconceived ideas of his father thanks to mom. Bear learns to keep his cool and slowly take down the barriers to start a relationship with his son. This all is aided by his family at the ranch.
Greta is dealing with tips of her sister’s whereabouts that continue to break her heart. Greta is also dealing with threats to her and to her business. The brother of Sheriff, Hank Goodwin, Daniel is obsessed with her and won’t back down. While this is all happening she and Bear are getting closer.
Logan is not only mourning his mother but is now in a new town as well as a new school and bullies whose families dont like Valor Ridge. Logan is struggling but the Valor Ridge guys and Greta step up and walk beside Logan and Bear.
Through attacks and severe weather disasters and tragedies and tremendous joy they all stand together to make it through to the other side. This was an excellent read that I would recommend to all. Tonya Burrows does an excellent job with romantic suspense and I can’t seem to get enough of her books.

Bear and Greta for the win!
Man, I felt like I was waiting a lifetime for this book to be released and it did not disappoint.
The talent that Tonya has with wrapping little bits and pieces of her side characters into these books really made me want to read about Bear. The silent but dangerous mountain of a man. And Greta, the strong, independent, search and rescue queen.
There's danger. Spice. Twists and turns. There's drama and trauma.
The Valor Ridge guys are there for rehabilitation. They've all served in some form and ended on the bad side of things and are just trying to get their lives back together after loss, hurt, trauma, anger..
Bear happens to have gotten drunk after living out his trauma, punching a dude and something happens that leaves the guy dead. He spends time in prison for it and in comes Logan. Bear's son. Yup, he's gotta kid now reentering his life the same time him and Greta's attraction starts to really heat up 🥵🥵 And Tonya did us a favorite and amped up that anty on it. I love love loved it. The tension. The heavy breathing and clothes just need to be gone.
But... there's danger lurking. Greta's been searching for her sister who's disappeared and has been missing for years. Someone wants her to stop looking. Someone's obsessed. And there's a killer out lurking free.

Bearing His Sins takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions as you experience every high and low alongside Bear and Greta. Their journey is filled with heart, pain, healing, and hope that keeps you deeply invested from beginning to end.
Watching Logan grow from an angry teen into someone embraced by the Valour family is truly heartwarming. The camaraderie and loyalty between these men shines throughout the story, balanced perfectly with laughter, banter, and moments of soft honesty that hit deeply.
Greta’s search brings another wave of emotion, adding layers of heartbreak, determination, and truth. Then danger strikes from where nobody expects, twisting everything they thought they knew and leaving you reeling. King & Atlas shined in every aspect making you fall in love with them.
By the time you reach the end, the journey feels so rewarding that it completely fills your heart.

Just like the previous books in this series, Ms Burrows pulled all of the emotions out of me and even broke my heart at times but thankfully put it back together quickly. I cried tears of pain, relief, joy and happiness. I loved every moment of Bear and Greta’s story which included his son Logan, and of course King and Atlas, their very good boys! The best boys! Also all of the other Valor Ridge men, their wonderful women, and their doggos are there as the support system this found family always provides. As always that just fills my heart up!
Bear and Greta danced around their attraction for a long time. I’m so happy they figured everything out because they are perfect for each other. Both supportive and protective of the other and so in love.
The story gets tense with some edge of your seat suspense which definitely worried me, but I know there always has to be a HEA.

Oh my…this story will pull at your heartstrings with Dane aka Bear, who gets custody of his son Logan, who he hasn’t seen in years. A new beginning for both with plenty of turmoil, and moving next to Greta, the woman who Bear wants. It’s not an easy road for any of them, Greta is still searching for her twin who went missing 15 years ago, Logan is lost, he doesn’t know his father, new town, new school and plenty of teenage angst and Bear, trying to keep it all together, raise his son right and be with Greta. As the three form a bond, Greta has her own problems, slashed tires, break ins, an attack, a target on her back and more questions than answers as to what happened to her sister.
Plenty of emotions, tears, heartbreak, heartache, some laughs, suspense, twist and turns, surprises, amazing characters, including the K9’s, King and Atlas…this read has it all and then some. Descriptions were spot on, the story flowed without missing a beat and the ending…oh my…loved it!!!

I was totally under the charm.....Bear is really a teddy bear inside and it was moving to see him doubt himself and be afraid to learn somoe else in in the bunkhouse at his place.... some things like that make him so much more human , more real we really could relate to his insecurities. The story is moving, with some touch of humour and some angst well distilled.....lot of action....
King definitiveky won points, he is a very good fluffy boy
Greta is determined, one minded but she is a really good person, even when drowning in her problem she does help her Bear and is able to speak to his son; i loved how vulnerable she could allow herself to be at time when needed.
The several twists kept me on edge
The story is well written, perfectly balanced between action humour and angst ( still poor Atlas) and addictive .....i may have been surprised by the next couple, as X is still waiting ,meaning Bear is winning his bet, which make me even more impatient to read more soon.
King definitiveky won points, he is a very good fluffy boy
Greta is determined, one minded but she is a really good person, even when drowning in her problem she does help her Bear and is able to speak to his son; i loved how vulnerable she could allow herself to be at time when needed.
The several twists kept me on edge
The story is well written, perfectly balanced between action humour and angst ( still poor Atlas) and addictive .....i may have been surprised by the next couple, as X is still waiting ,meaning Bear is winning his bet, which make me even more impatient to read more soon.

I have to admit, I was surprised how much I loved Bear's story.
I KNEW it was going to be a good book either way, since Tonya Burrows wrote it, but I was not expecting it to become my second favorite story in this series (Jax' book will NEVER be topped).
I feel like we didn't know much about Bear up to this point. Except that he is a gentle giant and has a thing for our favorite Montanan SAR lady, Greta.
That why this story just kind of came out of nowhere for me.
I absolutely loved it!
Bear and Greta, as a couple and team, just absolutely made sense to me. These characters seem like a natural fit. Their whole dynamic just works for me. Together with their canine companions, this is an absolute dream team.
And their story? Genius. Can You saw plot twist? LOVE IT!
Bearing His Sins has everything I love about TB books.

This book has a wonderful combination of suspense, personal drama, romance, and emotional growth within its pages. I don't know that I have ever read anything quite like it. I've read other books in this series, which have a similar vibe, but Ms. Burrows really takes this story to new heights. I love the concept of Valor Ridge, where military ex-cons can live and learn to cope with the world. The folks there (and their partners, and dogs, and found family) are incredible people: the kind of characters I wish I could meet. Not because they would be easy to know, but because they are remarkable and believable. In this book we meet Bear, who is at Valor Ridge after his military service and then spending time in prison after a bar fight gone wrong. His very angry fifteen-year-old son Logan has just come into his life, and they are living in town (off the ranch). Greta lives directly across the street, and their attraction, a tiny bit of history, and their common ground of first responder activities have their paths crossing. These two are the definition of yearning and denial, and watching their internal walls crumble is a great story. Somewhat secondary to all this is a heap of suspense with Greta receiving threats and Bear facing a custody battle. Not to worry, there is also banter (Bear gets so many nicknames!) and just the right amount of spicy moments. I don't want to give too much away; it's an amazing page-turner of a novel that you shouldn't miss!

There was a lot of emotional baggage to unpack across the various main characters let alone to supporting cast. The pain of someone disappearing leaving no trace and a constant round of deadends was brilliantly written and my heart went out to Greta. Logan was a typical angry teenager forced into a situation outside his control and into that of his father who is ill prepared and battling his own choices and demons. I loved the characters and really connected with their feelings plus the mystery running in the background added a new dimension. The Valor Ridge crew were hilarious and added the perfect blend of light and dark to this fast paced action packed emotionally charged book.

t took a while for me to read this book. Recent eye surgery slowed me down much to my dismay. But I finally got to read it and I have yo say I really liked this book a lot. Take 3 damaged souls and try to find common ground is a major feat, especially when one is teenager who believes his father abandoned him. Bear who thought his son would never want to see him and Greta who's never stopped looking for her missing twin. The book was very good book about relationships, forgiveness, trust and love. Throw in trafficking, a stalker and murderer and it turns into a great book

I’m loving the men of Valor Ridge. Tonya Burrows is writing excellent redemption stories with a great balance of romance and suspense. Bearing His Sins was a rollercoaster ride full of emotions and plot twists. I teared up a couple of times. Bear has found his self control, and he is trying to be a good dad. He hasn’t seen his son in years, and it is a tough battle. He moves in across the street from Greta, and sparks fly. He is protective. She is an independent woman with trouble knocking at her door. The result is a page turning ride that will leave you deeply satisfied. I can’t wait for the next book.

Another book o was so excited to read and I certainly wasn’t disappointed!
Bear and Greta had brilliant chemistry and really made a remarkable couple. I also loved reading how Bear and Logan worked through their issues and became a family unit.
The story had everything I needed to keep me thoroughly entertained. An underlying suspense theme, a brilliant couple, heroic dogs and a found family. The writing was excellent and flowed beautifully.
Overall a 5 star read and I’m not separate for the next book!

The way I loved Bear & Greta!! I neeeeded their story after seeing them push each other’s buttons and after learning Bear had a son in the previous book(s). I was on the edge of my seat with the suspense, and didn’t see the twists coming. I love Greta’s determination and the way she keeps showing up for her sister, long after others have stopped. I loved Bear’s protectiveness and the way they showed up for each other. I loved watching Bear learn how to be a dad again. I just devoured this one, and cannot wait for what’s next in the series!!

Each one seems better than the last.
Bears story is the best yet but then every one has been great. I always get lost in these books, the people the dogs, everything.
I never manage to work out who the bad guy is, her writing is that good. I hope Alice gets her own tail but can wait for Evanders. That looks like it’s going to be another doozy.

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions with everything going on. Bear is getting his son Logan that he hasn't seen in years and dealing with Logan having lost his mother and all the pain. Then the things going on with Greta her search for her sister that's been missing for 15 years there's lots of emotion, pain and finding new beginning's.

Amazing story. Heartbreaking, heartwarming, soul touching story of love, loss, finding your way despite the losses. Tonya Burrows always brings us amazing stories with wonderful characters and packed full of emotion. Definitely a story that will keep you reading from page one. Fantastic addition to this series.

Great story
Love Bear and Greta’s story but this is just as much Bear and Logan’s story too. Once I started reading it was hard to stop. Bear’s character is so easy to care about. He has a heart of gold. And Greta’s nicknames made me smile. Definitely recommend. While you may be able to read this book standalone, the series is top notch and I recommend all of them.

Another excellent book in the Valor Ridge series. Tonya Burrows is one of my favourite romance authors and she never disappoints. I loved the relationship between Greta and Bear, and the way he grew close to his son. An easy five stars.

More twists than than those mountain trails...
Bear, Greta and Logan did not have an easy path to their happy ending, but with heroic dogs and loyal friends this is a great read. The characters are well developed and the plot is devious. The more visits to Valor Ridge the better.
