this was exactly what it claimed to be - easy monster romance with a little plot and a lot of spice.

I needed a little brain candy and this 100% delivered. Not something terribly special, but I enjoyed the length and the world. I'm not usually a huge fan of this much of a green flag MMC, so these stories never go beyond a 3ish star rating for me, but that is a personal preference!

Would recommend if you have a few hours to kill and need a brain break 😌

I’ve genuinely had so much fun reading this series, and Betrothed was another enjoyable addition. These books are just such easy, entertaining reads when I’m in the mood for a sweet monster romance, and I flew through this one in a single sitting.

Zax was honestly adorable. He was so eager to be a good husband that I couldn’t help but like him, and I loved how patient he was with Fawn even when she was convinced he was the villain of her story. Watching him quietly win her over was probably my favourite part of the book.

As much as I liked Zax, and he was a very close second, he still couldn’t beat my favourite Skullstalker, Wick. Nobody has managed to knock Wick off the top spot for me. This was a cute, spicy, entertaining read that reminded me why I’ve been enjoying this series so much. Not my favourite installment, but definitely one I’m glad I picked up.

3.5 stars, rounded up! I guessed who the MMC would be from their introduction in the previous book. But I was really surprised with who the FMC ended up being. I didn't particularly like how their story started, it felt so wishy-washy which is really saying something. This time around the plot was there for the character growth and relationship development more than it was there for the intimacy. It took a little for me to get into their story, but once I did it was good. I liked how fierce the FMC was, and just how sweet and adorable the MMC was.

I was very entertained. In the earlier books, this hero is desperate for a spouse. She attacked him in the woods because he killed and ate her abusive husband. He is excited and immediately starts calling her his wife.

He has a tree house set up as he was hoping to find a spouse. He is a golden retriever happy hero.

He likes making her food, heating up bathwater, bathing her, cuddling her. He is so happy to have a companion.

Also he has a very long tongue and likes licking her.

This is such a sweet and quick read. The mmc felt innocent, and golden retriever vibes with just wanting a companion.
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, and didn't feel like I was lacking any information. I do wish the cover art was better tbh, but that doesn't take away from the story.

The whole skull head thing threw me off throughout their kissing scenes, I couldn't shake off the idea of him wearing the skull as a mask.

Oddly enough I liked this one a little better than the rest. At least to me there was more plot involved/character development this time the characters wasn't being intimate with each other out of necessity like the past plots but just because they wanted too. I enjoyed this one truly!!! I hope this is not the end and we can meet more brothers! 10/10 for me💜✨

This was an ok read. The lore in this series isnt explained very well. Its all very vague and honestly very conviently able to solve their problems with minimal effort on the characters parts. The quick switch from the FMC about the life she wanted after she ran away from the MMC wasnt great and he forgave her too quickly. Great chemistry and connection though. MMC is a sweetheart.
