Evie Janson came back to her small hometown to help her father - not to inherit a ranch, a mountain of responsibility, and a life she never wanted. But when loss forces her to stay, Evie does what she's always done: she works harder.
Then Bryce shows up.
Burned out from a career in the city, Bryce takes a job on the Flying J Ranch expecting peace and distance - not instant chemistry with his boss, or feelings he's spent years avoiding.
Their attraction is instant.
Their timing is terrible.
And walking away would be easier than staying.
Sometimes you have to decide if home is more than a place.
Aly Nicole is a contemporary romance author who believes in messy emotions, found family, and love that feels like home. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found reading, spending time with her husband and kids, or being bossed around by her mini Aussie. This is a sweet book that packs alot into its pages! It is a fast read. I finished in just a few hours, but nothing feels rushed. There is drama, romance, and some comedy along the way. I loved meeting these characters and cant wait to see how their stories progress in the next books.
I don't have a lot of experience but I do know love shouldn't hurt. It should feel like coming home, be safe. It doesn't cheat, just thinking about someone else should feel wrong. And it definitely doesn't play games, like showing up after years to see if it still has power over you." She looks back down the driveway. "If she really loved you, you wouldn't be here."
Finding Home was a cute novella featuring tropes like insta-attraction, small town, and found family. I had a good time reading it! I had a hard time keeping my focus on the story at times because of little grammar issues throughout the book, but as a whole, I thought this was a sweet story. I would continue the series.
CW for death of parent, grief, toxic relationship, sexual content.
This story is a gritty, atmospheric breath of fresh air for fans of the "City Boy/Country Girl" trope. I usually don’t go for country vibes but If you’re looking for a contemporary romance that balances emotional depth and abandonment trauma with the hardworking heart of a country song, this is a must-read.
This one had me hooked from the first line and kept my attention the whole way! Small town charm, ranches, and hunky cowboys! Love love loved it! Can’t wait for book 2!
This was just ok. I love a good novella, but this felt like it was too much to try to fit in a short book. And if it hadn’t been a really short book I probably would have dnf’d it.
