Revised and updated, the popular On Foot Guides offer city tours in a totally new way―illustrating a variety of walks with full-color, aerial-view, three-dimensional maps to give users an immediate sense of each route and what can be seen along the way. The informative text offers accurate, discriminating descriptions of places to stop and shop, eat, drink, or sightsee. Most walks are one to three hours in length, making them ideal for busy tourists or inquisitive locals looking to explore the more interesting neighborhoods and sites of each city. Color photos of top attractions round out the contents of these clear, easy-to-use guides.
What a delightful and informed little book! We only had 2 days, so we didn't do the walks; but we read the book, cover to cover! Sitting at Notre-Dame café, with the view you can imagine. Unashamed armchair walkers ;-) No matter whether you intend to promenade around Paris, this book is a MustSee.
Thought I'd use this more -- didn't really follow the walks, but fun to read, anyway. Oh plus there's good information about when things are open, and good tips for which areas to tackle at a time. Fun to get lost in Paris.
