This is the first book in my brand-new dark mafia romance series which I'm SO excited about. If you love arranged marriage, reverse age gap, touch her and die, older FMC/younger MMC, super spicy vibes, then you're going to want to check this out! The release date is a placeholder. <3
Kristen Luciani is a USA Today bestselling romance author, momtrepreneur, and a beauty product junkie with a penchant for stilettos, Silicon Valley, plunging necklines and grapefruit martinis. As a deep-rooted romantic who prefers juicy drama to fill the lives of anyone other than her, she tried her hand at creating a world of enchantment, sensuality, and intrigue, finally uncovering her true passion. No pun intended…
Marriage of Sin – Kristen Luciani ⭐ 4.75/5 Breathtaking. Captivating. Stunning.
Three words that don't do it justice, but they're all that comes out when you finish the last page and sit in that strange emptiness mixed with joy, wondering how one novel managed to do all of this. I read it in three days, and for three days I couldn't stop thinking about the characters, about what was happening to them, about what would happen next. Three days charged with anticipation in a way I hadn't felt in a long time.
About the Book In a world built on blood, betrayal, and secrets, where love seems like a luxury no one can afford, Adriana, a forty-year-old woman who built her empire from nothing and erected high walls to protect herself from all of it, meets Lochlan Molloy, the second eldest in a mafia family you can't help but love. The father excluded, obviously. What brings them together is not a fleeting love story. It's a slow burn of the most delicious kind, one where you live through every tension, every moment of anticipation, every step built with care and a logic you rarely find. Not too slow, not too fast, and that alone is an achievement.
What Makes It ✨🌈❤️🥹 ?
First: The Molloy Family. The five brothers are the salt of this novel and its beating heart. The eldest, Ronan, who you begin hating, and end up watching take his place among his brothers in a way you never expected. And the rest, who carry this dark world with genuine love for one another. Honestly, I have never read a brotherly bond like this before. And I've read a lot of mafia romance. But these five were the most beautiful thing you could possibly read about brothers in a world made of blood and bullshit. Their bond is what truly moves you, what makes you attach yourself to this world despite its cruelty. The family atmosphere that dominated the novel was what surprised me most — from the Molloy family to Adriana's own, her mother, her father, her sister Luna. Both families together gave a feeling of love, warmth, and tenderness I didn't expect to find in a novel like this.
Second: Lochlan Himself.
A man who raised my standards in ways I never anticipated. Not even Mikhail from Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, not even Aaron Blackford from The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas, came close to what I felt here. Lochlan is an entire forest of green flags. His attentiveness is unbelievable, his stubbornness for love is irresistible, and his love for Adriana is built on something real, with no pretense and no performance. The moments of care and tenderness from him are the ones that stay with me most, because they weren't grand dramatic scenes. They were small moments that revealed exactly who he is. I don't blame him for falling madly in love with Adriana, because she is genuinely impressive. A woman in her forties standing tall, having pulled herself out of this filthy world, a natural-born leader, a top-tier CEO who built a massive empire from the ground up.
Third: The Plot. I thought I had predicted every betrayal. The author hit me exactly where I wasn't looking, and that alone deserves applause, because a seasoned mafia reader is not easily surprised.
Fourth: The Writing.
Good, even excellent. The phrases scattered in Irish and Gaelic gave the text a soul, and the terms of endearment the characters use with each other were a small detail that made you smile without quite knowing why. All these little things create something you don't find in many novels in this genre.
The One Thing That Cost It a Quarter Star: The repetition of certain sentences word-for-word across different chapters. It didn't ruin the experience, but it was noticeable, and I wished the author had reached for synonyms rather than exact repetition.
Who Is It For? Anyone who wants a dark mafia romance with forced proximity, a reverse age gap where the heroine is older, and a strong female lead who doesn't break. And for anyone who wants to read about real men — here they are, in this novel.
"In a world built on blood, Lochlan Molloy chose to build on something else entirely."
Marriage of Sin is the first book in Kristen Luciani's latest series. You can count on ❤️🔥Reverse age gap 🖤Arranged marriage ❤️🔥Mafia romance 🖤Touch her and die ❤️🔥He falls first 🖤Powerful heroine ❤️🔥Ice queen meets golden retriever 🖤Only soft for her ❤️🔥Forced proximity 🖤Older woman/younger man ❤️🔥Obsessed hero
One of the things I loved most about this book was how different it felt from her previous work while still delivering everything I love about her writing. Her heroes are usually the quintessential alpha antiheroes—possessive, obsessive, jealous, emotionally volatile, and fueled by equal parts rage and angst. I enjoy those characters, but Lochlan was such a refreshing change of pace.
From the moment he stepped onto the page, he completely stole my heart. He's intelligent, patient, methodical, compassionate, and endlessly devoted. Somehow he's both a protective Doberman and a lovable golden retriever wrapped up in one irresistible cinnamon roll of a man. Yes, he's obsessed, but in a way that feels unwavering rather than suffocating. He knows exactly what he wants, and what he wants is Adriana.
And speaking of Adriana, I absolutely adored her. A powerful, successful woman who has spent her life building walls around herself, she isn't looking for love and certainly isn't interested in a younger man telling her what she needs. Watching her slowly unravel under Lochlan's relentless devotion was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their chemistry was incredible, but it was the emotional journey between them that really hooked me.
The reverse age-gap dynamic, arranged marriage setup, forced proximity, and "he falls first" energy all worked beautifully together. But what truly elevated this book for me was the character development. Seeing Adriana learn to trust and allow herself to be loved while Lochlan patiently proved himself over and over again made every page worth it.
This is hands-down one of my favorite heroes this author has written. If you've loved her books before, don't go into this expecting the same type of MMC you've gotten in the past. Lochlan is something entirely different—and for me, that made this story even better.
I received a free ARC copy of this book, and my review is only my opinion
Marriage of Sin completely pulled me in and refused to let go.
Lochlan and Adriana’s story delivered everything I love in a romance: emotional tension, undeniable chemistry, high stakes, and two characters who challenged each other at every turn.
Lochlan was the perfect blend of powerful, possessive, and protective. On the surface, he appears controlled and untouchable, but watching the cracks form in that armor as his feelings for Adriana grew was one of my favorite parts of the book. Every glimpse beneath the facade made me love his character even more.
Adriana was exactly the kind of heroine I root for. She was strong without being reckless, vulnerable without being weak, and refused to lose herself despite the circumstances surrounding her marriage. She brought a balance to Lochlan that made their relationship feel authentic and compelling.
The tension between them was incredible. Every interaction felt layered with attraction, distrust, longing, and emotion. Kristin Luciani did an amazing job building their relationship gradually, making every breakthrough feel earned. By the time Lochlan and Adriana finally let their guards down, I was completely invested in their happiness.
What stood out most was the emotional depth. Beneath the chemistry and drama is a story about trust, sacrifice, healing, and finding love where neither person expected it. The character growth throughout the story made the romance even more satisfying.
Lochlan may have started as my favorite character, but watching Adriana make him work for every inch of her trust is what made this story unforgettable.
Marriage of Sin is the kind of book that keeps you saying “just one more chapter” until suddenly it’s 2 a.m. and you’re emotionally attached to fictional people.
If you love marriage of convenience, possessive heroes, strong heroines, emotional tension, and a romance that delivers both heart and heat, Lochlan and Adriana’s story is one you don’t want to miss.
Kristin Luciani created a couple I’ll be thinking about long after turning the final page.
Could Kristen Luciani have got off to any better start with her brand-new Deadly Sins Mafia series? I honestly don’t think so.
Marriage of Sin delivers something we don’t see nearly enough in Mafia romance—a reverse age-gap romance—and I was here for every single second of it.
Adriana is a force to be reckoned with. A strong Mafia woman who walked away from that dangerous world twenty years ago to build her own successful business, only to find herself pulled right back into it. Now she’s not only stepping up to run the family business, but she’s also facing an arranged marriage to the younger son of the Irish mob.
And then there’s Lochlan…
Oh my. Fans self.
Like Adriana, he wanted nothing to do with the family business and chose his own path, but what I loved most about him was his unwavering loyalty to his brothers. He may have tried to leave that life behind, but when his family needs him, he’s always there. And the way he falls for Adriana? Completely swoon-worthy. He might be all puppy-dog devotion when it comes to her, but the second she’s in danger, that man turns into a lion ready to protect what’s his.
This story is a raw, heart-pounding ride filled with twists, turns, danger, and secrets. I devoured every page, desperate to see what would happen next. Of course, there comes a moment when Lochlan makes a mistake that could cost him the woman he loves but I absolutely loved seeing the brothers rally around him during those chapters to help him. The family dynamics were just as captivating as the romance.
For a first book in a brand-new series, Kristen Luciani has done an incredible job of introducing both families while giving us a fantastic insight into the brothers and the world they live in. There is so much still to come, and I already can’t wait for the next book and the next brother to fall.
Deadly Sins is off to one seriously addictive start.
This is a fantastic start to this dark mafia romance series!!
Lochlan Molloy has to be one of my top 5 most favorite men from this talented author! He's a very effective Enforcer for his father Eamon, even if he's not totally in line with his manipulations. Having to marry Adriana DeMicheli to secure alliances should be more of an issue for him than it is, and I LOVED all of his golden retriever energies towards her! Very welcome but unexpected! Reaper certainly adds a cute side to this lethal man, and along with the loyal, sweet, OTT protective, super steamy behaviors, make him the perfect guy for her.
Adriana has built her empire on her own, and is quite resentful at the prospect of a marriage she doesn't want or need. For the sake of her family’s well being, she begrudgingly agrees. Before long, the sizzling chemistry and possessive respect between these two spin things into a mutually beneficial relationship that I just couldn't stop reading!! Ooooh, the things he says! Wowwww... I adore how he "allows" her to be the powerhouse she is, and makes no attempt to hide his devotion. Soo hot 🔥
This has all the mayhem, drama, dangers, bloodshed, violence, and betrayals we want and expect from this author, AND all the steamy attraction, brotherly banter and family emotions we need! Definitely the full package!
I can't wait for the next part of this pulse-pounding, addictive storyline! I wonder which Molloy brother finds his forever next, and what new dangers await?!
I thank the author for my ARC, and happily leave my thoughts.
• 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 - - mafia romance - reverse age gap - arranged marriage - forced marriage - Italian mafia × Irish mafia - enemies to lovers - family duty - touch her and die - slow burn romance - obsessed MMC
• 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Adriana has spent her life staying away from the mafia world, but everything changes when an attack on her father forces her into an arranged marriage with Lochlan Molloy, the heir of a powerful Irish mafia family. What starts as a marriage of duty soon turns into something much deeper as they fight enemies, family secrets, and growing feelings for each other. This book completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The mafia world felt intense, dangerous, and addictive. There was always something happening, which made it impossible to stop reading. Every chapter had action, tension, betrayal, and secrets that kept me hooked. Lochlan was everything I love in a mafia hero. Protective, powerful, and willing to do anything for his wife. Adriana was such a strong heroine and I loved watching her step into a world she never wanted while refusing to back down. The chemistry between them was amazing and the slow burn made every moment feel worth it. The action scenes were incredible and the mafia politics added so much depth to the story. This is easily one of the best mafia romances I have read. That ending left me needing more immediately and now I am so excited to read Wolfe's book. Thank you author for the ARC! 🖤
I enjoyed this so much. I had a great feeling about it from the start. The hero was absolutely charming and I fell for him immediately. His persistence and grovelling at the end was chef’s kiss.
Adriana is 40, a powerful CEO, and the reluctant heir to a mafia empire she’s kept at arm’s length for 22 years. Lochlan is twelve years younger, runs his own security firm, and would do anything for his four brothers. When Adriana’s father is shot at a gala and left in a coma, Lochlan gets her out, and then his father arrives with a contract stating that if her dad is incapacitated, she must marry Lochlan to protect the family’s power.
Neither of them wants it, but both are pragmatic. Expecting the worst of Lochlan, he surprises Adriana at every turn. He completely surprises her, and wins her over: he agrees to all her terms, he’s gentle, he’s charming, he makes it his mission to coax out her smiles… and his dog adores her. Their chemistry is electric, and the romance was 5 stars. They were adorable together.
But unfortunately it lost points because of the plot, which in my opinion, had a lot of holes and gaps. And the third act break-up (which was set up from the start) didn't really make sense in the full context of what was going on. And when we found out who the traitor was, I wasn't shocked in the least.
That said, I enjoyed this immensely, and I'm mainly here for the romance anyway, so will absolutely be reading more.
*Thank you to the author and Grey's Promotions for an ARC of this title.
“You want me to stand next to you at public events and keep my mouth shut? Done. You want me to stay out of your way and let you run your business? Done. You want me to punch someone who’s giving you trouble? Also done. Happily.”
Imma just start with appreciating how Lochlan would lay down his life for the people he love. The way that man loves!!🥹❤️
Just don't get between him and his mint chocolate chip ice cream!
He was good and perfect for Adriana and God, impressing that girl is HARD. She's stubborn, her walls were so high, and i kept wondering how my poor Lochlan was going to be able to navigate that. And somehow he did it.
Both of them were strangers forced into a contract marriage they knew nothing about, a marriage that drags them back into the life they'd been trying to escape while building their own empires. But when it comes to protecting the people they love, they'll do anything including marrying someone you've known for less than six hours.
Now plot twist! I didn't see that coming, like THE HELL WAS THAT? THE BETRAYAL!! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it and process everything that happened. I loved how everything turned out though. Forever Team Molloy brothers!
And the award for Shittiest Father of the Year goes to Eamon Molloy!! Like how evil do you have to be!
💛𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: Dark Mafia Romance Arranged Marriage Golden Retriever Reverse Age-gap Forced Proximity Strong FMC Touch Her & D!e He falls first
Marriage of Sin by Kristen Luciani completely hooked me from the very beginning. There was so much to love about this story, but one of my favorite aspects was that Adriana is 40 years old while Lochlan is 28. So many romances feature younger heroines, so it was incredibly refreshing to read a story centered on a confident, mature FMC finding love.
I loved watching Adriana and Lochlan fall for each other. Lochlan is cocky, charming, and completely sure of himself, which leads to some fantastic banter between them. What I appreciated most, though, was that he supports Adriana without trying to take over or “fix” her problems. He loves her exactly as she is and shows up for her when she needs him most.
It was wonderful to see such a strong FMC allow herself to be vulnerable with the right person. For Adriana, that person is Lochlan. Their relationship felt authentic, supportive, and deeply emotional.
This book delivers on every level with drama, action, tension, and a twist I never saw coming until it was too late. Marriage of Sin was an amazing read that kept me invested from start to finish, and I highly recommend it to readers looking for a compelling romance with an older FMC, a younger MMC, and plenty of emotional depth.
Marriage of Sin is a forced marriage, age-gap mafia romance that completely pulled me in from start to finish! ❤️🔥
The FMC is an older, well-established, strong-willed woman who has intentionally distanced herself from the mafia world. The MMC is younger, successful, and determined to build a life outside of his father’s mafia empire. When circumstances force them into a marriage, the tension is immediate and impossible to ignore.
The angst in this book is absolutely incredible, and the chemistry between these two is off the charts! Every interaction is packed with emotion, longing, and undeniable attraction. 🔥
The plot was suspenseful, engaging, and kept me invested the entire time. Between the family drama, mafia ties, and emotional push-and-pull between the characters, there was never a dull moment.
If you love forced marriage, age-gap romance, strong heroines, protective heroes, mafia elements, and plenty of angst, this is definitely one to add to your TBR. I loved every minute of it and couldn’t put it down! 💕📖
Definitely a favourite read for me, I loved Adriana and Lachlan’s story. Adriana had been on the periphery of the ‘family’ business for years making a name for herself building a billion dollar company. Tragedy strikes, and Adriana is suddenly forced to step into a roll she doesn’t want, which also comes with an arranged marriage. Lochlan Molloy 12 years Adriana’s junior and her newly minted husband is keeping a ruinous secret, which will surely have a devastating fallout. Kristen has spun an amazing tale with drama, danger, twists, turns, an adorable rescue, and a fabulous romance. Thanks to Grey’s Promotions and the author for the opportunity to read and review her work in exchange for an honest review.
A reverse age gap mafia romance???? Yes yes yes!! I am obsessed with Lochlan and Adriana. She is a boss, literally. Stepping in to lead the mafia family after her father is put in coma? Get. It. Queen!! I loved how she told Lochlan to just stand behind her don’t say anything while she dealt with the capos!
Lochlan was in love at first sight and I was obsessed. 😍 this man!!! He cooks for her. Lets her lead. Literally the best kind of husband, hot and supportive!! And all while watching her kick ass.
I loved Lochlan’s brothers so much! And Reaper the German shepherd stole my heart 🩷🩷 Highly recommend, mafia romance with a bit of a twist 😉😉
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
💍 arranged/forced marriage 💼 reverse age gap 💍 he falls first 💼 she’s a CEO boss
This is the first book I have read by this author and as soon as time allows I will be devouring her back list. I really enjoyed this book and was reading every opportunity I had. Adriana was such a strong FMC and Lochlan was so fiercely protective MMC. Neither wanted to be part of the "family business" and worked hard to create a life outside of it but the events of one night pull them both in. Nothing makes me happier than when an author can add mystery and intrigue to a book and I think I have it figured out only to have my mind blown by the twists that happened. Cannot wait for the next books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest opinion.
4.5 stars! This is the first book in the Deadly Sons series by Kristen Luciana and it does not disappoint. Adriana has spent twenty-two years building his consultancy company and she is very successful and not part of her father's business. When her father is shot, she is forced back into his mafia business. She is known as a hard core business woman who is feared by many. Then she learns her father signed a contract with a rival family to create an alliance through marriage, her marriage tohis second oldest, Lochlan. Will she be able to do this? How can she work to empires at the same time? Lots of good twists and turns in this story that keeps you reading to the last page.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
Thank you Kristen and Greys Promotion for this ARC, all opinions are my own.
Marriage of Sin is an arranged marriage mafia romance where the FMC is the mafia boss and the MMC is the son of another mafia family. This book starts off wild from the very jump. Not only is the FMC the badass mafia boss she is older than the MMC and he falls first and hard as hell. I loved everything abut this story, the relationships, the story, the spice, and the plot twists. I hope there are more books coming because I LOVED Lochlan but I would really love the other brother's stories as well. This will probably end up being an unpopular opinion but I would REALLY love if Ronan got his own book.. 😏
Adriana is a well known boss lady who left her family’s organization to build something of her own. After an attack on her father, Adriana finds herself forced into stepping into leading the organization she left as well as an arranged marriage with a younger man, Lochlan Molloy.
Adriana has erected high walls around her heart, but Lochlan is determined to break them down. After continued threats to self and family, the feelings that Adriana and Lochlan have growing are tested, causing the carefully broken down walls to come back up.
This book has spice, a strong FMC and the younger MMC trying to win her heart. I loved this story and cannot wait for the next books in the series.
Oooh, I loved this one. What a fantastic start to a new series. Adriana and Lochlan had me gripped from the first scene. Adriana is an absolute boss and Lochlan was strong and sexy and secure enough to watch her lead and flourish. Possibly my favourite hero ever from this author. The slow burn was intense, but the chemistry and warmth between the pair was everything. So many twists and turns, alliances and deceptions, violence and loyalties. This was an addictive read with a desperately won happy ever after. I can't wait for more from this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh my gosh, this was my first read by Kristen Luciani, and she did not disappoint! A badass CEO heroine?✔️ A golden retriever man trapped in a killer’s body?✔️ Touch her and ☠️, yes please! And it’s a mafia romance tied into one? Say less! I absolutely devoured this book the reverse age gap was such a fun dynamic, and Adriana and Lachlan were the perfect match. Once they both realize what’s in front of them, there’s no stopping them! This story had me genuinely hooked from beginning to end and I’m already looking forward to whatever comes next Kristen has next! I highly recommend this book if these tropes are up your alley!
Thank you to Grey’s Promotion for sending me this ARC 🖤
I rarely enjoy age gap romances but this one I really enjoyed! But it is reverse age gap where she’s the older one. Adriana was a force to be reckoned with. She started her own company to get away from her family’s mafia world. But we find out later that her dad had signed a contract for her to get married after he got injured. In comes in Lochlan who seems smitten with her since the beginning. We get spice, family dynamics, swoony moments, action, betrayal and overall a good storyline! Definitely recommend it! 5 stars!
I am not a fan of reverse age gap mafia romance, but I carried on. Marriage of Sin is an arranged marriage mafia romance where the FMC is the mafia boss and the MMC is the son of another mafia family.
I totally admired her. As a powerful and successful woman who has spent her life building walls around herself, she is not looking for love and surely is not interested in a younger man telling her what she needs.
Thanks to Grey’s Promotions and the author for the opportunity to read and review this work in exchange for an honest review.
Adriana spent her life building an emprie out of her fathers criminal one until a bullet ends him and leaving Adriana to take the reigns, only she needs alliances and the 12yrs her junior, son of her rival is the one chosen, Lochlan may seem arrogant in his ways but when it comes to Adriana he'll burn the world to keep her safe, but what happens when she learns his secret? Well written the story and characters draw you in with steamy desires drama action and more.
Sign me up for Lochlan and his fur baby Reaper! Of course let’s not forget his love of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I just had a harder time liking Adriana. It started in how she acted towards Reaper and just progressed from there. She was an ice queen in so many ways. While she was a strong woman, I just thought that Lochlan deserved someone so much better. I totally could have done without Adriana.
I love Kristen’s books, and this one was just as amazing if not more! The age gap, the trust that was built only to be broken with a secret to begging. Knowing her role and dominating it where the men in the field couldn’t accept it. This was absolutely perfect!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
ARC review: It's a story set in a Mafia world, for two main characters that despise this reality but love their families. You'll be attached to their love journey, slow burn, trust, betrayal and how trusting the wrong people would destroy every thing 😤 Deep down I suspected the The plot twist , but wished if I was wrong 🙊 Enjoy 😍
I really enjoyed Adriana and Lochlan’s story, it’s an arranged marriage and plenty of family drama. Their banter was great and the chemistry was definitely there. It has just the right amount of suspense and romance to keep you turning the pages. 5 stars from me!
The tension between the main characters was superbly done. The clashing of personalities and the slow descent into lust and love was a de,ight to read. The conflict and drama felt organic and the side characters enhanced the action and overall plot. An excellent reverse age gap mafia romance with plenty to keep the reader invested to the end.
