Liam Ferguson has spent years playing it safe—on the ice and with his heart. His NHL team’s locker room is a toxic mess, and his career is slipping through his fingers. But nothing haunts him more than the one thing he’s never had the courage to fight for—Madison King, his best friend’s sister, and the girl he’s loved since high school. She’s always been off-limits. Untouchable. And completely unforgettable. Madison King doesn’t do relationships. After years of disappointment, she’s mastered the art of keeping men at arm’s length—thanks to a carefully crafted fake-dating arrangement with her best friend. Her focus is her yoga studio, her growing online brand, and building a life that doesn’t rely on anyone else. Especially not men like Liam. All hockey. No emotional depth and way too much like her irresponsible brother. She wants a partner, not a project. But when Liam’s team hires her as their new yoga instructor, avoiding him is no longer an option. Now she’s in his space. In his head. And just as her carefully controlled fake relationship starts to unravel, so do the walls she’s spent years building. Because staying away from Liam? That was never the hardest part. Stolen moments turn into lingering touches. Tension builds. Boundaries crack. And for the first time, walking away might cost them everything. Because Liam is done playing it safe. And Madison? She’s dangerously close to wanting the one man she swore she’d never need.

Start the Colorado Wolves Hockey Series with Rebound Hearts—a spicy workplace romance featuring a powerful team owner and the man who never stopped wanting her. Colliding Hearts is Book 2 in the Colorado Wolves Hockey Series
Kerri writes sports romance with a dash of sweet, a healthy dose of love, a generous sprinkling of spice and always a perfectly crafted HEA. Although she’s becoming a published author later in life, she’s been writing and thinking up stories since she was twelve years old. Being able to write full time is a dream come true! She’s a Colorado native who now lives in Houston, Texas. She’s been a lifelong hockey fan of the Colorado Avalanche, (of course) and a hockey mom in a former life. She’s an avid reader of spicy romance novels and a die-hard coffee addict. Espresso is life! Her hobbies include walking her furry four-legged best friend, Cheyenne, watching as much hockey as possible, chasing her grandkids around the house and reading as much smut as possible while overindulging in coffee and snacks. She’s a retired accountant and is much happier writing than working in corporate America. She lives close to three of her adult children, which she loves because they are awesome humans.
Colliding Hearts is book 2 in Colorado Wolves hockey series. I did not read the first one before I jumped into this one, and though we meet the couple from book 1, I didnt feel lost or that I needed book 1 to follow along the story. Liam and Madison’s story was the brother’s best friend trope, but with a twist I enjoyed that we don’t see enough. Where the brother is all for his sister and best friend dating. He likes his best friend so much he knows he’d treat his sister good if they ever dated. I liked the depth this added to the story, but because it took away the angst of the bro’s best friend, I was expecting something else angsty to take its place, but sadly no. Madison was hard on Liam for not acting like a grown up, and he really needed to man the heck up and let his mom and dad enjoy their retirement. But I am over 50 with 4 kids so I may be using my own thoughts on that. Overall I enjoyed…just a tad more angst would push it to a 4*. Thanks to BookSirens for this ARC, my thoughts are my own.
Colliding Hearts is book 2 in the Colorado Wolves Hockey Series, which follows Liam, the new appointed Captain, and Madison, who has been assigned to provide yoga lessons for the hockey team. Madison and Liam have known each other for years as they grew up together along with Madison’s brother, Walker.
Similarly to the first book, the characters are very well developed, each facing their own struggles and obstacles in life, which gives the characters another layer and are more relatable. Although Liam seems very immature at the beginning, I liked how he developed and started becoming more independent. Some of the heavy subjects discussed are the effects and trauma caused by hazing, death of parents, and living up to parents’s expectations. Although there were some minor errors in the book, it didn’t take away from how amazing this story is. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This is the second book in the Colorado Wolves Hockey series. I can't say enough about this author. This story is the perfect romance told. We the reader have been given the gift of brother's best-friend, secret crush, forbidden romance and second chances and hunky hockey players. How Liam made my heart swoon. A slow burn, watching Madison (our heroine) maneuver her friends relationship and feeling her heart cave into something new. The author smoothly juggles these characters into place, a nice touch with with the gift of a dog for protection. Loved this fun read and looking forward to what comes next.
Colliding Hearts by Kerri Duffy was such a fun, emotional romance that perfectly balances heart and heat. The story pulls you in quickly with characters who feel relatable,.
What I loved most was how the relationship develops through vulnerability and growth—both characters have their own baggage, but watching them slowly let their guards down made the romance feel authentic and satisfying. There’s plenty of tension, heartfelt moments, and just enough spice to keep things exciting.
If you enjoy character-driven romances with strong emotional payoff and a couple you can’t help but root for, this one is definitely worth adding to your TBR.

I just finished Colliding Hearts by Kerri Duffy, and it was such a cozy, "sink-into-the-couch" kind of read. The pining in this one is just next level. Liam has been carrying this massive torch for Madison since they were in high school, and I have to say, I am such a sucker for a "he falls first" story.
Even though Liam is a pro hockey player, who has just made captain, is a total sweetheart who has not yet figured out how to grow up. Watching Liam realize that he needed to put in the work to be the partner that Madison deserved, rather than just being another “project for her to fix was refreshing to watch.
Madison is this powerhouse yoga instructor who has spent many years keeping men at arm's length to focus on her career. When she gets hired as the new yoga instructor for Liam’s team, they are suddenly forced to spend time together, and the tension build up is perfect. This is not one of those books where everything happens on page ten; you really get to see them navigate the shift from childhood crushes to actual adults.
There are some great "found family" vibes with the rest of the team, and some really cute dog shenanigans with a German Shepherd that kept things light. It also touches on some heavier stuff, like locker room toxicity and mental health, but it never loses that feeling good energy.
I really enjoyed the world-building with the Colorado Wolves, and I am definitely planning to stick with this series to see where everyone else ends up. Definitely a great pick if you want a sweet, slow-burn hockey romance!

This has a mix of tropes, and was a pretty good read. Not perfect, but entertaining, and if it helps, I powered through in one sitting, so it did keep my attention.
However, this brother’s best friend sports romance had an unrequited trope that sat a little funny… and I just can’t quite pick why…
The MMC started off quite immature. I mean, you’re almost 30 and have no idea how to look after yourself? He had some growing up to do…
I guess it gave coming-of-age vibes - the feeling of a high school /college romance due to the immaturity of some of the characters… The MMC, Liam, got a reality check early, and it provoked him into taking a good, long, hard look at what he was doing. This cinnamon roll / golden retriever vibes came out pretty quick after that.
It was predominantly a rom-com sports romance, but touched on some pretty heavy topics. No spoilers here, but bullying, LGTBQI+ rep, death etc, are all touched on. I was glad that the mental health/healing was also touched on for Madison, but honestly, if Walker gets a story, I’m going to need some serious character development.
Overall, an enjoyable read.

Loved this story! This is book 2 of the Colorado Wolves Hockey Series and was just as great as book 1. Following on from book 1 the team is starting to be formed and the players and rookies now know their roles. Liam was such a sweetheart, admired by most of the team and such a loveable character. Being really close and having known Maddison since they were young he hasn’t been able to get over his high school crush, now that she is single he has high hopes. Will Maddison see him as potential partner material though? This story follows their friendship groups and how close they all are, was steamy, romantic, had some conflict, was emotional at times and dealt with some nasty behaviour from a team member. With a bit of matchmaking on the side this was also a fun story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I’m looking forward to the next couple that will have their happy ending. Thank you Kerri Duffy and Booksirens for the opportunity to read this lovely story.
Ok. Kerri Duffy is a new author for me. And I'll say this. I am in love! She will continue to be one of those authors I go back to. This book is so good. Not only are the fmc and mmc fantastic, there are so many great characters and amazing, realistic situations with real ways to help it fix those situations. There are really good life lessons all disguised as a damn good story. Highly recommend reading this book!
Colliding Hearts is book 2 in the Colorado Wolves hockey series. This can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read book 1 and was able to follow along easily and there was limited mention of the couple from book 1.
This is a slow burn romance and book with the pace picking up as it nears the end.
There were a few things that kept this book from being a 4 star for me: no one seemed to care about the FMCs breakup and her dating another friend, they jumped from nothing to full relationship and some of the communication between the characters didn’t feel realistic. But this is my opinion and others may not feel the same.
Overall, this was a good read and will be enjoyed by those who love a brother’s best friend trope with some hockey thrown in. I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Colliding Hearts is such an easy, addictive read, it’s the kind of story you can completely lose yourself in. Liam has been in love with Madison since high school, and although she felt the same way, neither of them ever acted on it. Part of the hesitation came from Liam’s loyalty to his best friend, who also happens to be Madison’s brother. Now the newly appointed captain of the Colorado Wolves hockey team, Liam is determined to clean up the toxic culture of extreme hazing within the team, something he knows all too well from personal experience. Madison King is focused on building her yoga studio and has no interest in a man child that needs her to look after them. She’s independent and knows exactly what she wants, which makes her dynamic with Liam more compelling. The story blends romance with deeper themes like trauma and mental health, while also adding a refreshing twist to the “best friend’s sister” trope, the brother actually supports the idea of them being together. Overall, it’s a heartfelt mix of growth, healing, and long-overdue love.
This is a hearfelt and emotional story that encompasses a couple who has been avoiding relationships, love, companionship because of fear.
Liam is the ever professional hockey player, he is sweet and well liked by the people and teammates, but he is also a bit shy. He has been in love with his best friend /teammate's sister for so long, but afraid to express his feelings because of the off-limits idea. Madison has sworn off relationships, and her best friend has helped by faking a relationship with her. But when she starts to work with the team, the close proximity, the attraction, and overall sense of belonging will open her to accept Liam's love.
This was such a great plot filled with laughter, friendship, intelligent dialogue, and a delicious slow burn that will have you cheering for them from start to finish. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was absolutely adorable and sweet. Liam is the definition of a lovable character. Everything about him was kind. Madison is zen and chill, and is Liam’s best friend’s sister. I found the take on this trope super refreshing. It’s not what you would expect, and that’s all I will say about it. Watching these two character grow and develop throughout the story was so endearing. And seeing their connection deepen and morph pulled at my heartstrings. I appreciated the book not shying away from tougher subjects and the way they addressed them felt very respectful. The ending was so satisfying and truly an emotional payoff for what all we went through in the story with them.
I liked this book. I loved the plot and really enjoyed the back story and yearning. I do think it was written more as a YA book than a book for more mature readers. The conversation felt youthful, too youthful for late twenty somethings.
Overall, good read!

This was such an amazing book! The characters growths throughout the entire book was so well done and well written. I would highly recommend for any hockey romance lovers!
