Grateful Knight is one stressed out witch. Not only has she failed to restore her caretaker, Rick, from an evil witch’s mind-control spell, but the loss he endured extends well beyond his memory. To make matters worse, compensating for his absence could cost her the job she loves and the strength she needs.
When a new supernatural threat leaves Grateful for dead, a vampire ally saves her life but at a price. Her assailant's calling card makes it clear she’s marked for death, possibly by her goddess mother. With the help of her half-sister Polina, can Grateful gain the power she needs to win Rick back and beat the goddess at her own game?

This has to be my favorite of the series. It's so beautifully written. You feel for the characters involved and realize how all of them have created and gained friends with each other. There are so many events that happen that make Mother May I an amazing read. Not only does Grateful Knight have her work cut out for her but she also has to learn about changes that happened to her caretaker Rick because of Tabetha. The beginning of the series captured me and kept me reading but I do have to say I think this book has to be the best in the series. Everything comes together and finally makes sense.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Heat: 🌶🌶 Mother May I is a continuation of Grateful's journey and picks up at the ending of book 3. I highly suggest reading these books in order and not as a standalone. You won't be disappointed as the love Grateful holds for Rick is challenged. The angst is high as Rick's loss of memory puts a strain on their current relationship, but it makes the fight so entertaining to read about.
If you're one to pick up an audiobook when it's available, then download this series. Brittany Pressley's work is pleasant to the ear and makes the experience even more riveting!
I'm giving this book a 5 star rating not only because of the strength of this final book but also because of the excellence of the series overall. This is a great series and was a joy to read. A fast paced, page turner of a novel that uses all the major players of the series and ties up some loose ends while also planting the seeds for further adventures in this universe. There is a lot that happens in this short novel but it all pays off in the end. The battle between Grateful Knight and the Goddess/mother of the title may not have been as epic as some would have liked but it certainly was unexpected and even tender and is countered by an epic battle involving evil Goblins, good and bad witches, vampires and shape shifters that's last several chapters and that leads into a cinematic ending all coming from the mind of Genevieve Jack. A lot can be forgiven under her fluid, personal and involving writing style and she may fall back on traditional tropes but her style and the many moving parts more than make up for it. I was not overly fond on the side story about Grateful Knight and her brainwashed lover but the pay off at the end was worth the journey with a wonderful visual concerning the distant lovers and the final connection they make. Again that is because of the author who seems to know were she's going and how to get there. These books should be read together not only to fully appreciate the progression of Grateful Knight from flakey 20 year old to a powerful and mature witch but also to fully enjoy the quality writing and the authors ability to grow and adjust with the series. These are characters that you'll like to spend time with in a universe that is well worth the journey.
Wow what a book!! But this looks like it is the last book for Grateful Knight and Rick. Oh how I loved the ending of the book. This has been one hell of a series, I hate to see it end. But like all good series, they do have to come to an end. The whole series was well written, and drew you into Grateful's world. To the point you did not want it to end. In the end it all comes down to love. Rick and Grateful have loved one another since the day the met, and it did not know what incarnation they always found each other. I think that is why I loved this series so much. Oh and just because Grateful and Ricks story ended. In the back of the Book is a seek peak, showing who's story is next. I wont say who You just have to read the book to find out. I hope you enjoy this book as Much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do, they value your opinions too.
This is book 4 in the knight game series, I received an arc for my honest opinion, imho I've been hooked since book 1 ghost in the graveyard.. in mother may I Rick has lost his memories because of an evil vengeful witch and a spell she had cast upon him, grateful works with right k daily to bring him back to her, this book is action packed, we see loss we feel the love it's simply amazing!!! Genevieve did an amazing job, I think as this series grows the books get better, at one point grateful has to visit her mother.. the goddess/ hectate what happens with the visit? Who dies in this book and does Rick get his memories back? All good questions, read the book and you will find the answers.. this book is not a standalone it's part 4 in the series, you need to start with book 1 ghost in the graveyard..
Wonderful,Wonderful,Wonderful!! Just it was more meaningful than all the three other installments together, but the fun one was #2, Kick the candles. But I didn't like that boy Lucas carrying The Grateful Knight legacy. I would have been more happy if it was a girl.Anyway, it was a great read. Finished in 4 sitting. Wonderful imagination.. hats off to Genevieve Jack!! Thank you, Ma'am for the entertainment!! :)
This is my favourite book of this series. Though I do love all the books. I loved that we met new witches and we get to know more about Hecate. In my opinion I love a happily ever after and we get that and more. I couldn't put this book down. I recommend this book and this series. I am super excited about the next book Logan. There were so many things I wanted to say in this review but I would then tell all the spoilers and I don't want to do that.
Loved it. The last book left me hanging but this one made the whole thing come together. I pick up alot of books based on a vague feeling sometimes and this is one of the few that kept me guessing and invested. I'm not quite sure why this series has appealed to me in ways others have not. I wouldn't mind hearing more from this cast of characters. Hopefully Logan's story will have the same vibe and tip off many more to come. Because Julius needs love too. He earned it for sure.
There are some book series that are so well-done, you begin to think of the characters as old friends. This fourth addition in the Knight Games series was a welcome visit with Grateful, Rick, and the rest. Like all of Grateful's adventures, the stakes are high, the romance is sizzling, and there's a lot of humor mixed in with all the magic. I was delighted by the ending (one I've rooted for!), but I do hope we see Grateful and Rick again!
This book is the best yet in the series. Grateful has progressed so much throughout the series and has became a strong woman and has had to be due to Ricks current condition. Its full of action and has an amazing ending to it can not wait for the newest book to come out which focus' more on Logan (our ex ghost). Would recommend it to anyone
The fourth book in the series and still going strong. Genevieve does not fail to provide us with the continuing saga of this "witch" series that does not disappoint.
I love the power and strength of this one woman. She was driven by love and loyalty and made the best decision for all without fear. That is not an easy feat, but I think this life as a nurse has given her the ability to think and make quick decisions under duress. I am so happy that I got to see more of the Mother Hecate and hope to hear the story of Lucas at some point. Although, I hope that it is not just him that is special but his sister as well (assuming a female is next). I supposed you never know with the Mother Hecate as she seems to only have one favorite at a time.
I will be reading Logan's story next, and I am sure it will be just as exciting.
And I almost forgot to mention that I loved the Twilight reference. It was subtle but noticeable and I laughed out loud at that.
I've read all the books in this series and out of all of them this one is probably my least favorite. Nothing glaringly bad about it or nothing in particular that I don't like per say. I just wasn't as impressed with this one as the others. And I really think that Grateful and Rick using the candle repeatedly so they can have kids is really stupid. Why would you want to have children grow up in a world where you are in danger quite frequently and your kids could be used as leverage against you? I haven't read Logan yet and I don't know if I will because throughout the series he has become more unlikable and whiny to me and I don't know if I want to read a whole book based on him.

Book titles I still find amusing but again appropriate. Of course I'm an emotional hot mess because Rick has lost his earth element and cannot connect with Grateful. Their love story is just so beautiful that I hate seeing Grateful's heartache and struggle. So goblin mercenaries are hired to kill Grateful, while Grateful tries to fix the mess she got suckered into, figure out what mom Goddess Hecate wants, loses her nurses job, while trying to collaborate with Polina, save Logan and sever the bond with Julius. So much going on that I am absolutely in love with this series. What a fantastic ending!
I am so pleased with the Grateful Knight’s Knights ending. In a little over a year she battled some menacing evils and the ups and downs with Rick, Logan, Gary and Julios are like riding a roller coaster. But she she really gotten savvy using the skills of a witch, and the elements in her portfolio. Stick to your gut and be as honest and helpful her nurses creed is the foundation the Grateful floats on. Hecate is a trip, Michelle is a great friend and the familiars almost steel the show. I also like some of the weres and dislike the fairy folk.
This one wasn’t as evolved as the other books (for me). It was a little slow at times and other times it seemed to have so much happening that I got lost. Grateful also got on my nerves a few dozen times but, she was under a lot of stress so that’s okay.
This was an interesting book as the turn of events kept getting more and more complicated. Yet, parts of it felt a little off and rushed. Maybe it’s just me. I enjoyed it but I was looking for the awesomeness of the first three books and I only got part of that!
Well damn. it's over now. I'm truly sad the series is over. it was amazing and grateful is amazing. I'm sad that some characters didn't get mentioned in this book. id love a spinoff or something about Solei (i may have spelled that wrong.) but overall, it was amazing and i couldn't have asked for a better book.
I was enthralled from beginning to end. Engaging characters who will worm their way into your heart. Outstanding worldbuilding that brings you right into the story. And smooth writing with lots of adventure to keep your interest throughout.
I'm hoping that there will be more stories in this series. I want a few secondary characters to get their own stories.
This book had some turns in it I wasn't expecting. I am glad to see Grateful open her circle of friends. The ending was quite interesting. I don't even know how these books are going to go now. Wow, can't wait to see what happens as this story evolves.
Liked it, but I don't know why, but I just don't feel it, I keep waiting for other shoe to drop for real, and for Grateful to end up with somebody else... But, I was happy that everything worked out.
