Hi. I’m Louise Miller, the youngest of four sisters, I’m a hopeless

romantic, and Bliss Garden’s resident trainwreck.

Is twenty-four too young to have a quarter life crisis? Asking for… well, for me.

I just moved into my new apartment, and I’ve already humiliated myself in front of the much older, sexy single dad—and scorching hot firefighter—who lives next door.

With the most incredible blue eyes and a mustache I’d like to test drive, Zach Macomb is exactly the kind of guy I’ve always fallen hard for.

Then he drops a bomb… he’s not quite as single as I thought, and starting anything between us could jeopardize everything he’s been fighting for.

Except when he kisses me, all bets are off.

With a gruff disposition and a hardened heart, Zach is no prince charming, but that doesn’t stop me from wishing for my very own fairy tale ending.

Even if it means showing this grumpy beast that happily ever after exists after all.

He acts all through the book like an older, mature and steady dad, but then when situation got hard he left her and ghosted her
If she wouldn’t have been there he would have left without a goodbye, he moved to another place, like wtf!?
No grovel
All the good sex scenes with daddy vibes meant nothing if you act like that
She took him back in one second 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️☠️
You can not trust someone like that, not as a friend, not as a man, not as a partner
The woman in the cover looked like Duffy and this was my first book by this author
It’s not a bad book but I hate no grovel after such a cluster freak

I wish I could rate this one higher because it started off well and even though it was fast paced between Zach and Louise, I was enjoying it but then I think I really a couple variations of oh my god about 20+ times in a couple chapters and things went downhill from there. I get she’s Gen Z but a lot of the vocab in the book just felt childish to me.

I don’t mind the 16 year age gap but I didn’t care for Louise just beginning to find her way and then rerouting for Zach and his ongoing drama/divorce.

What really got me was the following spoilers I was hopeful for so much more and all of this let me down. I’m curious about the side characters getting their own books but I’m hoping there will be more development for future stories

Once Upon A Kiss
By Danielle Baker

F***, this sucks. I haven’t felt desire like this in years. I want her, so f***ing badly. And I can’t have her, not even a little bit. For way too many reasons. Several of those reasons being the three blondes waiting for me in my apartment.

What would it be like to be f***ed like that? By someone that knows what they’re doing? I go a little weak just imagining it. Is that what being dickmatized is?

“You… you disarm me in ways I am not entirely prepared to handle. I haven’t kissed another woman in over a decade. Make me want things I haven’t let myself want in so long. Make me feel things I didn’t think I’d ever feel again. And all of it could come crashing down around me, if I’m not careful.”

Louise and Zach’s story is a really cute and easy read! I loved the pacing of their story and the hints of fairytale throughout their story. Louise is Zach’s new neighbor and as time goes on the attraction these two have peaks and damn it’s hot! Louise also develops bonds with Zach’s kids and it’s so cute to see Louise there doing big moments for the kids! I really enjoyed this read!

What just happened to me? Danielle Baker has a new fan. I loved Zach and Louise so much. Zach was just my kind of MMC - caring, kind, thoughtful, etc. I fell in love with Louise right away and I loved all the sprinklings of resemblances to the things I love too - pumpkin spice cold foam?? Yes!

I always love the single dad trope and this one was super well done. How long do I have to wait for the next one in the series???

Thanks to Danielle Baker for an ARC of this book.

I have been waiting for the next Macomb brother since Honor and your next hottie firefighter is here! And guess what you guys? Zach has a lot of his brother Xander's characteristics but he is also very different as well. For starters, Zach is a single daddy to three girls, he is going through an ugly divorce with his crazy soon-to-be ex wife and he has the hots for his much younger new neighbor, Louise.

First things first, I would like to say, as a Michigander, it was so nice to read a book that takes place in Northern Michigan. It makes my heart so happy. Also to read about home was such a comfort to me. The portrayal of Northern Michigan in the fall, totally made me yearn for it.

Second, I absolutely loved Zach and Louise's relationship. Louise's youthful and playful personality was the perfect compliment to Zach's broody and grumpy personality. She was also exactly was he needed. As a single dad who is trying to do it all alone after his soon-to-be ex wife took off and left him with his three daughters, Louise stepped in to help him make his life easier. From looking after the girls when Zach gets called to a fire to helping his oldest navigate her first period, is the exact opposite of the relationship he left. It was what he needed to realize that love is still out there of him. And I loved when they checked in with each other with them saying, "Locked in? I'm locked in, baby." It was just a sweet thing that these two do.

Now I do have a few things that wasn't may favorite. For one, at first I felt like I had a hard time getting into the story. I felt like the insta love/lust didn't fit the characters or plot. I also felt like the first spicy scene was also not appropriate for the plot. It kind of made me cringe. The way it happened and how quickly into the book that it happened wasn't may favorite. I truly wished there was more tension and push and pull between the two. Especially with Zach still being married and their large 16 year age gap. I feel like a slower burn would have fit the plot better. I wanted him to fight the relationship harder.

Overall, Zach was everything I wanted! And with that being said, I am so excited with all of the easter eggs that were given in this book for what is to come in this series! I can't wait for Louise's sisters books, as well as, the last Macomb brother, Joel! Like I am so excited for Joel's book! He will be my favorite Macomb brother, mark my words!

You should most definitely read this book if you like:
- Single Dad (girl dad!)
- Age Gap (16 years)
- Neighbors to Lovers
- Close Proximity
- Firefighter MMC
- (soon to be) Divorced MMC
- Small Town set in Michigan
- Curvy FMC

Thank you to Danielle for the ARC ✨

Lou is the youngest-of-4 sisters at 24 & just moved into her own place that happens to be next to the 40 year old Zach Macomb, single dad of 3 girls. He’s in the midst of divorcing his ex since she abandoned him and the girls, so he cannot risk anything that could jeopardize his chances of maintaining full custody. He, however, was not expecting the curvy, blonde bombshell that moved in next door.

MYGOODNESS! The tension and smuttiness of this book had me BLUSHING. My cheeks turned pink like the cover of this book. It was a cozy read (with smut) that has me so excited for the next books in this series (which will be of the other 3 sisters). Lou is sassy, confident, and so much fun. She got along with the girls and got Zach out of his shell. I was “locked in”.
The only thing that dampened my high was that he didn’t really grovel like I needed him to at the end and he should’ve gone all out with the costume. BUT I still enjoyed it.

If Macomb is a familiar name, then you probably read the Sky Ridge Hotshots series. Book 3 was of Xander Macomb and Teddy who both make an appearance in this book. Also, we’re in the same town Danielle’s Holiday romance collection takes place, so some of those characters make an appearance as well. Mainly Willow who is BFF’s with Lou.

This story is a great small town romance with sexy firefighters and unbreakable bonds between sisters. The first book in the series is all about Lou and Zach. Though, within their story, you'll meet lovable town characters a reader may practically bribe the author in order for more books to be written about from this little town.
Louise/Lou:The youngest of four sisters, she's outgoing and has the best luck moving into a new apartment near a "girl dad".
Zach: Single father and firefighter. He is raising his three girls and navigating a dating life after marriage.
An awkward encounter has Lou and Zach meeting for the first time with his daughters in tow. Zack falls for his neighbor that is almost half his age, while the girls fall for her because she reminds them of a real life fairy-tale princess. The electricity between these two is instant and in no time at all, they show one another that the years between their ages is only the amount of time Zach has perfected his skills in the bedroom. There is hot and spicy time between Lou and Zach as well as endearing sweet moments between them.
I enjoyed this story and look forward to more books in this series. I hope other readers will as well.

Age-gap he’s 40, she 24!
Single dad
Fire fighter 🔥

Firstly do not let the cutesy cover fool you… the spice 🫠🫠

Louise Miller, moved home to help out with the family business! She is currently on a men ban as the dating scene sucks! There is only so many times a girl can be ghosted and blocked before you start to take it personal 😢 Louise is the youngest of 4 sisters and side note her gran Jude is an absolute legend!
Lou finally moves into her own place, and let’s just say her first encounter with her hot neighbour is not quite as smooth sailing as she had planned 😂😂

Incoming..

Zach Macomb single father (a firefighter too 🥵) of 3 girls after their mum up and left them all 2 years ago! Zach now puts his girls before anything and everyone to protect them from ever being let down again! So when Lou literally bundles into their life and fits in seamlessly, and Zach is enjoying himself a lot 🥵🥵

There is one slight problem, Zach is still married and with the divorce hearing looming he is trying to make sure not to give is estranged ex any reasons to hinder the process! But can he stay away from his Princess… yea I think not 🔥🔥🔥

I could not put this down, I really enjoyed the banter between all the siblings too and let’s say once your “Locked In” you’re “Locked In” 🤍🌸

P.s if you have read Honor, Xander makes a couple appearances and yes he definitely says MAMA 🥵🥵😂

After reading Once Upon A Kiss and Honor, I officially want a Macomb brother of my own! I hear Joel is available… can I call dibs? 😉

Zach is a 40-year-old single dad, separated and raising his three daughters while waiting for his divorce to be finalized. His entire world revolves around his girls after being abandoned by his wife (and their mom) and his focus is fully on them.

Then Louise, 24, moves in next door and completely turns his world upside down. The attraction between them is instant and mutual, but Zach knows he shouldn’t risk the distraction before his divorce is final.

Still, as the weeks pass, staying away from each other becomes nearly impossible. Both have been hurt in past relationships, making them hesitant to fully trust each other, and themselves, with their feelings.

This book is spicy, emotional, and everything I hoped for! I’m a sucker for the single-dad and age-gap tropes, so I was already sold – but the fact that Zach is a Macomb? I knew I was going to love it (Xander in Honor still has my heart 😍).

What I wasn’t prepared for was the ending - it had me in tears. Both the heartbreaking kind and the happy kind.

Danielle really knows how to write an incredible mmc, and I’m officially obsessed with the Macomb family. Can we please have Joel’s story next? I mean a hot firefighter with slutty glasses who loves babies, come on!? 🤞🏻

Thank you Danielle for letting me read this book early!

J’ai aimé le côté Disney on the side. Mais sinon j’ai bien aimé

I fell in love this book right from the start. That meet cute between Lou and Zach was honestly epic, had me laughing so much!

Lou is so easy to like, she just feels real and a bit chaotic in the best way. And Zach… yeah, he’s just chef’s kiss. Confident, protective, tattooed firefighter… I mean, who doesn’t love a man like that — especially one who’d let you ride his moustache 😮‍💨🥵.

I also loved that both Lou and Zach have similar insecurities when it comes to trust and love, but you can feel how much they want to make it work, and that just made everything hit a bit deeper.

And don’t even get me started on his daughters, they were so adorable, smart, and completely stole every scene they were in.

Such a fun, swoony read with loads of heart — I didn’t want it to end.

Danielle Baker…whatever you were doing while writing this book, I need more of it. I automatically knew I was going to enjoy the book just by the dedication. It really is rough out here 😭 a beautiful story about two people who have been hurt in the past in similar ways, yet different circumstances. Danielle did an amazing job describing Lou’s inner voice with her insecure thoughts, yet trying to redirect them in a positive matter!!
Don’t even get me started on the spice scenes 🥵🥵 there were moments I had to stop reading and look around (I was alone) to make sure no one could see me BLUSHING. Zach, the man that you are👏🏻👏🏻 might have surpassed my love for his brother Xander…

“Gone is the sweet cinnamon roll girl dad, gone is the grumpy neighbor that communicates in grunts. In their place is a man that I would happily let ruin me, if he wanted to.”

Once Upon a Kiss is the perfect blend of heartfelt, chaotic, and hot-as-hell. It’s the kind of single‑dad age‑gap romance that sneaks up on you with humor and then sucker‑punches you with emotion.

Zach is a firefighter, a father of three, and a man who’s been holding his entire world together with grit and duct tape after his marriage imploded. He’s tired, lonely, and absolutely not looking for anything… until Lou moves in next door and his whole life tilts.

Louise “Lou” works for her family’s nursery, which means she’s sunshine, soil under her nails, and Rapunzel hair that looks like it belongs in a fairy tale. She’s soft but not fragile, sweet but not naive, and she has a streak of stubbornness that makes Zach’s eye twitch in the best way. She’s a brat but only for him. Their banter was so much fun; it’s flirty and constantly pushing the boundaries.

“Such a goddamn brat. I’m going to enjoy wrecking you tonight. See how well you learn to listen by the end.”

Their meet‑cute is pure chaos when she accidentally grabs his junk, and from that moment on the man is gone. It’s instant chemistry, instant tension, and instant “oh no, he’s going feral for her.”

What makes this story shine is the meddling siblings on both sides. Zach’s brothers and Lou’s sisters are the kind of nosy, hilarious, ride‑or‑die family members who shove these two together. Joel, the youngest, Macomb was constantly egging Zach on and making him jealous.

My man. Zach, mother freaking, Macomb! This man. The dirtiest mouth, the BDE, and the bestest of girl dads. Zach is obsessed in that quiet, grown‑man way. He’s protective, possessive, and absolutely undone by the woman next door. He’s the beast to her beauty, all rough edges and soft heart, while Lou brings color and hope back into a life that’s been gray for too long.

Zach’s three girls were such pivotal parts of this story! They love Lou so much and she loves them to pieces too. I loved how she showed up for them over and over again. Lou became a constant for them in the aftermath of Zach’s (almost) divorce and custody hearing. My only issue was the ending. Zach messed up BAD and there wasn’t enough grovel for what he did to Lou.

Beneath the banter and the heat, there’s a tenderness that makes this story unforgettable. Two people who didn’t expect love, who maybe didn’t even believe they deserved it and found it in the most unexpected place: right next door.

A huge thank you to Danielle Baker for the early copy!

Arc Review

Do you remember Xander and Teddy, the protagonists of *Honor*? Well, this OUAK is all about another Macomb brother, Jack, the firefighter who’s drop-dead gorgeous and even has a mustache! Yep, Danielle Baker has brought us back to this incredible family, and trust me, you’re going to want not only this book but also Joel’s, the other Macomb brother, who ticks every single box for me (he even wears glasses!). I officially want a Macomb brother of my own, preferably Joel, who’s still single… maybe waiting for someone… can I call dibs?

While that’s not happening yet (though I hope it does ASAP, Danielle!), we’ve got these amazing sisters from the Bliss Garden series, which starts with the incredible Louise.

You know those books you just glide through effortlessly, that feel natural and flowing and give you all the good vibes? This is one of them! A true fairy tale, princess vibes and all… until the tears turn into despair and anguish! But trust me, even the tears are worth it because this book is just that good.

First of all, the cover! One of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. But please, don’t judge this book by its cover… seriously! It’s actually one of the hottest books I’ve read in a while… seriously!! (He calls her “brat”... I’ll say no more!)

Long story short, we’ve got Jack, a single dad with three kids because his ex decided it wasn’t worth sticking around… and Louise, who fate placed right next door. Daddy Jack is “only” 16 years older and should be completely off-limits… until he can’t resist a determined “princess” very much like Rapunzel herself.

Despite the noticeable age gap (which I personally love!), we get a woman who’s not only wonderfully sweet but also just the right amount of sassy, my favorite kind, and she completely throws this mustached man off his game in the best way. They’re intense, and the chemistry is everything in this book.

Danielle, thank you for welcoming me to the team and for the opportunity to read this ARC. Count on me to shout to the world how much I love your writing and how badly I want to read everything you write!

And you, just go read it! You’re going to fall in love with Jack and these amazing sisters.

♥️He’s married but in the middle of a complicated divorce

I absolutely devoured this book!! I couldn’t put it down and I was hooked from the beginning to the end! I love this world and the characters Danielle has created and I have been looking forward to Zach’s story ever since I read Honor of The Sky Ridge Hotshots series and it was worth every second!!

I adored both Louise and Zach and the introduction between them is just iconic!! I really liked how relatable both characters were and I loved how sweet and caring Louise was to everyone. Her kindness just jumps out at you from the page🩷And Zach - the sexy older grumpy firefighter who adores his three little girls and is so protective - I am in love with him!!😍

I thought the story timeline worked perfectly and I really enjoyed their journey from neighbours to unable to resist each other to becoming a supportive partner for one another🥰 The chemistry between them is insanely hot and the spice was unreal!!🥵but the “ruin me” line and the flirty banter they have with each other is everything!!

I really liked how Danielle had a balance between the fun (dirty scrabble and Grandma Jude😆) and the vulnerable moments. I liked how vulnerable they became with one another and watching Louise and the girls all bond with each other warmed my heart.

I love all of the Macomb family and this book gives us so much more to love! I really liked that we got to check in with Xander and Teddy and I loved cheeky Joel too! This family truly has my heart and the letter scene from Zach’s dad had me in tears! You could just feel a parent’s love in his letter🥹

Overall, this book was absolutely fantastic and everything I hoped it would be and more!!! I giggled, I cried and I really didn't want it to end! Sorry Xander but I officially have a new favourite Macomb😍
I really liked the introduction to Louise’s family and I’m so excited for more books to come in The Bliss Garden Girls series and I am officially “locked in” with Louise and Zach forever💖

A princess, a firefighter, and a lot of delicious spice. That’s what you can expect from Danielle’s newest book. Oh and did I mention you get all the hot Macomb brothers? I’ve gotten to read Danielle’s books a few times, and she has a way of making you instantly love her characters. They feel like friends even though you’ve just met. There’s this level of comfort she brings into her writing that just makes you love reading. All your favorites make an appearance; we even get the broody bartender, Luck, and Willow and Xander and Teddy. I fell head over heels for Xander, and when I heard Macomb brother, I was not going to let anything stand in my way. The little cameo of Xander and Teddy was such a special touch, even a little mama to just make you melt. Xander was hot, and Zach does an incredible job carrying the filthy-mouthed Macomb brother torch (now let us have Joel and his slutty glasses). The tension between these neighbors was so hot, and when that moment hits, oh, it is so worth it! Danielle really captures those awful insecurities so many of us feel. Her way of writing has you feeling it all. It's the little moments that had me in a chokehold. The moments of girlhood and the fact that Lou falls for Zach but also his girls. She loves with her whole heart, and I could not get enough of it, and no matter what, she kept showing up. My heart broke for Zach and everything he went through (it's a lot), but his princess brought him back into the sunshine. Zach is working so hard to do everything he can for others around him but doesn’t realize he deserves the same level of care. It's the feeling of breaking your own heart to spare the other person, and boy, will you feel it! The Macomb brothers are still top tier, and I cannot wait for more!

Once Upon a Kiss 🚒💋🌷👸🏼

I had been waiting for Zach’s book since he was mentioned in Honor, and omg, it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the pacing of this book; it felt calm, beautiful, and always carried the depth in the characters that the author’s writing delivers.

Zach, what a man! Truly, the Macomb brothers are everything that’s right. Zach is a dad of three girls and is going through a complicated divorce and custody process with his ex, so the last thing he needs is more problems or anything that could make the situation worse. He’s just moved to this new place and, well… the new problem comes in the form of his new neighbor. Ahh, you can imagine! And this pair’s first meeting—ICONIC, lol.

I liked Zach a lot; I really connected with him. He’s just a father thinking about his daughters’ well-being and the need to protect them, to give them as much stability and love as possible. Everything he does is for them.

That’s why, when Zach meets Louise, he’s very scared—scared to try anything with her, scared that if he does she might eventually leave and break his heart and his girls’ too, scared of not being enough, of her deserving something better than him, of being a burden—especially because Louise made him feel everything he hadn’t felt in so long, and that terrified him.

I loved the development of their relationship; it’s very cozy, homey, and calm—both of them finding a sense of belonging with each other, a home, someone they can trust.

Louise is a ray of sunshine!! The kindness, spontaneity, and charisma she has!! She truly does everything with her heart and immense love. I loved the way she sees things, always looking for the positive side and something good, never hesitating for a second to be there for the people she loves.

Looking forward for the next book in the series!

If you read Honor and have been waiting for the next Macomb brother’s story, the wait is over! Zach Macomb’s story is here, and he didn’t disappoint!! If you loved Xander, you will love Zach. They share a lot of similarities, but they do have their differences. Zach is a single dad of three daughters. He is going through a tumultuous divorce with his crazy ex-wife. His single focus is gaining sole custody of his three girls and finalizing his divorce until he meets his much younger, gorgeous neighbor, Louise.

Louise Miller wears her heart on her sleeve. A hopeless romantic but unlucky in finding love. She has the most amazing support system of her two best friends and her family. I found Lou relatable. She finds herself in the most awkward situations. A prime example is her first conversation with Zach. Lou’s playful and flirty personality is the perfect match for Zach’s broody and grumpy demeanor.

Zach Macomb is raising his three daughters on his own. Abigail, Bailey, and Chloe are hilarious and definitely keep their dad on his toes. He isn’t used to having a partner he can rely on. His support system consists of his mom, brother, and fire chief. Until Lou. Over and over again, she shows up for him and his girls, proving what everyone around him has been saying all along that the right person will stay and fight with you.

There are so many things I love about Zach and Lou’s story. First, Zach and Lou’s relationship. She really breathed new life into Zach. In a good-natured and flirty way, she would push his buttons. He showed her the right person won’t leave her. Second, they made sure they were on the same page when they asked if they were “locked in”. Third, how easily Lou fit with Zach and the girls. I loved all the family scenes, but these ones were special.

Fourth, there’s nothing I love more than a side character who says the most unhinged things. Enter Grandma Jude. I absolutely love her. She will steal the scene.

Fifth, the Miller family. Lou is the youngest of the 4 daughters, whose family owns and operates Bliss Gardens nursery. I love their family dynamic. They are hilarious, fierce, independent, confident, successful, and gorgeous. This group of women is absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Thank you, Danielle Baker, for this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and a review.

The way I devoured this one!!! I’ve been waiting for Zach’s story ever since that tease at the end of Honor, & it absolutely delivered. I’m already fully invested in this series. The world Danielle Baker is building here? I need every single side character’s story immediately.

Zach & Louise had me from their meet-cute. I was literally laughing out loud. It’s easily one of my favorites. From there, the chemistry is instant fire. Zach is this gruff, protective, single dad firefighter on the outside, but that mouth in the bedroom? Yeah. Say less. The contrast between who he is publicly & privately was so well done, & the kink exploration was fantastic.

But what really got me were the quieter moments. Watching Lou with Zach’s girls, seeing those relationships develop, the way she just fits into their world without forcing it. That’s what gave this story its heart. Under all the heat, this is really a story about learning to trust again. About taking that terrifying leap of faith that someone might actually stay.

Zach & Lou both come in with baggage, & you feel that push & pull the entire time. The tension, the restraint, the inevitability of them all just work.

Also, I need to say it. I am officially a Macomb family girl. The banter, the glimpses of what’s coming next. I’m already attached to this series & so excited to see what's to come.

Once Upon a Kiss 💋

this book had me hooked from the very start it was a struggle for me to put it down or to focus on anything else because it captivated me so much. This book pulled me in and did not want to let me go.
I loved everything about Lou and Zach from the way they met, them trying to be just friends, falling in love, the heartbreak and finding their way back to each other it was everything.
I laughed so hard with this book Lou was just hilarious and then you add in the mix of her friends and her family and it was off the charts. Another thing I truly loved about Lou is the dressing up as Disney princesses not only does she do it to make kids happy but she does it because she loves it and that’s so unique to me because almost every girl when they are little wants to be a Disney princess.
Zach man oh man he’s just trying to survive and that’s tough with three girls but he’s doing his very best and he’s killing it which is something you can’t help but fall for and did I mention he’s a firefighter that just makes him even better. He’s a girl dad, family man an all around good person going through a rough patch and while he messed up a tiny bit he still went after who he loves.
Honestly there is so much I could say about Lou and about Zach because I just loved them so much, I’m gonna cut it off here though and just say read the book because it’s absolutely amazing and you don’t want to miss out on it.

I received an ARC of Once Upon A Kiss by Danielle Baker, thank you so much for the opportunity!! I’m still screaming over this book 😭💖

This was an easy 5⭐ read for me. I absolutely loved Zach and Louise they are the PERFECT couple. The nickname Princess?! I know it’s not new, but the reason behind it had me fully swooning. Danielle just knows how to make you feel everything.

I also loved that Louise is a curvy FMC with normal, relatable jobs it made her feel so real. And Zach as a single dad?! Stop. His girls were everything and added so much heart to the story.

If you’ve read Honor, you’ll LOVE this one. Seeing Xander and Teddy again made me so happy, and the letter from Zach’s dad gave me the same emotional punch as Xander’s 😭 I swear, these letters just hit every time.

I also caught some little Easter eggs that now have me wanting to go back and read the books about Theo, Beau, and Luck 👀

I’m already obsessed with this series and cannot wait for more. I would LOVE books for each of the sisters and I’m definitely hoping we get Sienna & Nash 👀 AND please give me Joel’s book (and his letter!!)

The only thing I wished for was just a little more after the conflict before the epilogue but honestly, I loved this so much it didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all.

Also, the spice? Top tier!🔥

Danielle, I’ll absolutely be sharing this review this book was AMAZING and I can’t wait for what’s next!

Once Upon a Kiss by Danielle Baker has been on my radar since the moment she announced she was writing books for Xander’s brothers after Honor.

I’ve read her entire backlog, I’m on her team, and I absolutely adore her. I genuinely love creating content to promote her books because she is truly a gift to the romance world.

This story follows Louise and Zach.

Zach is a single dad with three beautiful girls, and yes—you might think this is a nanny/single dad situation … but it’s not.

Louise helps run her family’s nursery & be a party princess but she’s always felt like something is missing. Watching her slowly figure out what that “something else” is makes her journey feel so real and relatable.

If you remember Just My Luck, Zach was the one who came to the nursery and bought three white roses - a symbol of hope and new beginnings for his girls.
And honestly, that moment perfectly sets the tone for this entire book.

From their impactful first run-in, the story turns into a mix of heart, humor, chaos, healing, and the sweetest moments.

We get:
• Xander and Teddy cameos
• The kids (which add so much heart)
• The Macomb matriarch
• Louise’s family and her sisters
• Fire calls, unexpected visits, emotional moments, and plenty of shenanigans
• Zach needing help and Louise always showing up when it matters most
• Ex drama that puts Zach in a foul mood and Louise letting him take it out on her

Important note:
This is not a Macomb family series.
This is the Bliss Garden Girls series, focused on Louise and her sisters - and I am already excited for what’s coming next.

This book is wholesome in the best way, but also packed with emotional depth, humor, and swoony moments that make it impossible to put down.

It’s honestly hard to knock Honor out of the top spot for me, so I’ll say this:
they’re tied.

Because truly, all of Danielle’s books are top tier.

You are going to love this one.
I already know it

The vibes are immaculate ✨ This new Bliss Garden Girls series is already “locked in 😉” to be something super special, judging by Once Upon a Kiss. I loved every single character—the banter between the families had me laughing out loud. It’s spicy, emotional, heartfelt, and honestly everything you could want in a romance.

What to expect:
🌸Neighbors
🩷Firefighter MMC
🌸Girl Dad³
🩷Age Gap
🌸Married (but very separated) MMC
🩷Calls Her Princess

Book overview:
Hi. I’m Louise Miller, the youngest of four sisters, I’m a hopeless romantic, and Bliss Garden’s resident trainwreck.
Is twenty-four too young to have a quarter life crisis? Asking for... well, for me.
I just moved into my new apartment, and I’ve already humiliated myself in front of the much older, sexy single dad-and scorching hot firefighter-who lives next door.
With the most incredible blue eyes and a mustache I’d like to test drive, Zach Macomb is exactly the kind of guy I’ve always fallen hard for.
Then he drops a bomb... he’s not quite as single as I thought, and starting anything between us could jeopardize everything he’s been fighting for.
Except when he kisses me, all bets are off.
With a gruff disposition and a hardened heart, Zach is no prince charming, but that doesn’t stop me from wishing for my very own fairy tale ending.
Even if it means showing this grumpy beast that happily ever after exists after all.

Well… it’s OFFICIAL. I need a Macomb brother of my own immediately because EXCUSE ME?!?!?! I. AM. UNWELL. I don’t even know who I’m more obsessed with, Zach or Joel, because LAWD HAVE MERCY, these men didn’t just steal my heart, they RANSACKED IT.

Zach?? Sir?? This man is out here being the most devoted girl dad, juggling his life while trying to finalize his divorce, and then BAM. Enter the adorable, dimpled neighbor next door like a rom com fever dream. Neither of them are looking for anything… but the chemistry?? The tension?? It’s ILLEGAL.

And when I tell you this man tries to hold back for the sake of his kids and his absolutely unhinged soon to be ex… I mean he TRIES. But the moment…THE MOMENT he snaps that restraint??? SCREAMING. This man goes from “respectful father” to full blown DADDY with a capital D and I was NOT PREPARED. This man is the pure definition of DOMINANT….oh boy is he FILTHY. Had me completely flushed, giddy and SWEATIN’.

But there’s more…The scrabble game?? The kitchen sing along?? Joel stirring the pot like a menace trying to make Zach jealous?? Louise’s family?? I was CACKLING. UNCONTROLLABLY. Just pure serotonin…until Danielle decided we needed EMOTIONAL DAMAGE and hit me with that ending. I went from feral laughter to sobbing like someone snatched my favorite toy. RUDE.

Now I absolutely MUST have Joel and his slutty little glasses. Danielle make it happen girl!

My oh my Xander was my favorite hotshot wildland firefighter. . . . Now let's meet his brother Zack. Yes please!!!
"A closely cropped beard and a mustache, I'd like to personally take for a test drive."
Hot guy neighbor that's older and a dad of three dealing with a nasty divorce gets a new plus size "Princess" living next door.
" Louise, I would love nothing more than to show you just how not old I am."
Zack wanted her as much as she wanted him but trying to keep his kiddos safe was top priority until he couldn't fight it anymore.
" When I fuck you - because it's not a point of if, but when."
Geesh I need a cold shower. The way he spoke to her and depended what he had intentions to do. Yes. . all day yes!!!!
All it takes is for a pair of slutty little glasses to make her sing along in the kitchen, for him to become obsessed and possessive over his princess.
" Should I remind you which brother you prefer."
From punishments, lessons, being disobedient how can you not fall for the man that loves himself a big ass. I am here for it.
" Is that a fire hose in your pants, or are you happy to see me?"
" I'm gonna need you to stop talking about past boyfriends, Princess. I get real jealous, and just so we're clear, I'll be the last guy you date"
Swooning that's what I'm doing is swooning.
Divorce is messy and when his ex turns into a stalker things get tough. Not only is it all a mess but a secret that might put them on a pause. Pushing away is never the answer when she is" Locked in.".
" I will be the one and only guy you marry and spend the rest of your life with.I said locked in princess, and I mean it."

This story i wanted more and more of them.

Favorite line came from his younger brother. . . ." then, I guess just call me Mr. Steal- Your- Girl."

Once Upon A Kiss
Written by Danielle Baker

Not me over here laughing about how these two met ! Too perfect and too funny. But also our grumpy firefighter literally cannot stop staring at her after their first run in.

The way they both can help but think about each other or look at each other. They're both pining but Zach is trying to be a gentleman and not want her but you can't help who you want. Zach has not wanted anything like the way he wants Louise, but he can't have her; it would complicate both of their lives.

So let the dance begin because I know these two are going to dance around each other and temp each other.
Good thing Zach is a firefighter because the fire is horrible between them and it's up to him to give into it finally!

I love the families ! the banter between the Macomb brothers. The close relationship between Louise and her sisters. Zach's kids and Louise Grandmother. It all fills my heart with joy!

You know that swoony, giddy feeling you get when a book just hits and makes your heart ridiculously happy? Yeah… this one did exactly that for me. 💕

I’ve been waiting for Zach’s story ever since I read Xander’s last year (and I loved that one so much I literally own it in all three formats, so that should tell you everything 😅). And honestly? It was so worth the wait.

From Zach and Louise’s super touchy-feely, adorable meet-cute to the moment they finally admit how they feel, I was completely hooked. I barely paused! I just needed to know what happened next. Louise is such a sweetheart and watching her bond with the three girls was one of my favorite parts. Those kids completely stole the show at times, especially Chloe, our unapologetic, no-filter queen.👑

What really worked for me was the push and pull between Zach and Lou. It never felt dragged out or frustrating, just the perfect amount of tension. And when they both finally stop fighting it and just give in to their feelings? Ugh, so satisfying and fun to read.

Zach and Lou are officially up there with Xander and Teddy for me, which says a lot. And now I’m just here, patiently (okay, not really patiently) waiting for Joel’s story, hoping he is up there too! 🙌🏼
