4.5 ⭐️ This was such a fun read! It’s a supernatural, dark, and haunting romance with a morally grey mmc. This story brought some unique world building element with the way the trees were used in this world with these like demon and godlike beings. If you are a fan of reincarnated lovers then you’re going to need this book! The setting of the story was in the 70s of a small town near New Orleans which added such an atmospheric feeling to this property we’re set in. The writing was dark beautiful and poetic, it reminded me of V.E Schwab and CG Drews writing. Overall I’d recommend this book and it’s a quick short bingeable read!

I enjoyed this one! It was very unique and has a creative dark/mysterious plot that I wanted more of by the end of the book. The fantasy/supernatural aspects are based around mythical trees which was refreshing when compared to the typical overdone worlds and magic systems that most fantasy romance books are based around. The storyline is about a girl named Jade who owns an antique shop in Detroit and she inherits an estate in New Orleans, where she meets a mysterious man (and other mysterious characters) that feel familiar to her for some reason. Throughout the book you slowly discover these connections. I did feel like it may not be fully fleshed out yet in book 1 but I’m also very curious to see where it goes. I’d definitely read the next book if there’s going to be more in this series!
Things I loved: the beautiful descriptive setting, gothic vibes, reincarnation themes, a dark and dangerous love story, the overall mystery.
Why I didn’t give a full five stars: I felt like the mystery was revealed in an “all at once overload” way at the very end instead of being slowly revealed throughout the journey, and it felt a bit hard to wrap my head around because of that. But also, since this seems like it will be a series, leaving some confusion and unanswered questions makes sense. It does make me want to continue reading the series.
Overall I enjoyed the book and I’m very intrigued with this storyline! Can’t wait for the next one! 🖤🌳

Creative concept, but executed poorly. Much of this already short book felt like unnecessary filler. Not for me.

I have never read a book like this one before. It is so imaginative and creative!

A forever unrooting of Jade and Hickory is truly a work of art. If you are a lover of gothic horror, romance, nature, creative imagination, and lots of spice this is the book for you!
I absolutely loved every minute of this from the haunted romance to the enchanting inherited estate. This is a short novel you can read in a sitting but it holds so many intricate details.
I like Jade, the FMC. She is so incredibly intelligent and understanding and nurturing. I think we could all learn a little about ourselves from her.
Ash and Lol are such strong characters as well. To have friends like this, who will follow you through the years.
There are so many spooky and fun aspect to this story. I would love to see some art for this book. The writing is so descriptive I’m imagining everything being so stunning from the trees, to the antique shop, to characters.
I have many more questions about.. well quite literally everything. This is absolutely a five star read for me. It will be going on my trophy shelf and I will be preordering the sequel, A forever unearthing of Opal and Oak as soon as it is available.

Fated love with a twist
This book gave me much world building I throughly enjoyed stepping into a world of hickory and heartache. As an artist and big mood reader this is the kind of novella that makes you want to paint the whole house green 🙂↕️

This is a short, dark, super natural story of a fated love with a curse! For such a short story there’s a lot of detail and you definitely can imagine this world. We’re in the 70’s, it’s earthy, dark and very mysterious.
When our FMC finds a jade ring in her antique shop, a very mysterious, Handsome man shows up telling her she has inherited her uncles estate and she cannot stop the pull towards him! This is just the start of all the mystery because then her life starts spiraling.
If you are a lover of a repeating timeline, mystery, curses, and more of a darker, gothic vibe you should absolutely read this!! I finished this in like 4 hours because I couldn’t help finding out what was going to happen!
I am VERY excited to see what’s to come, for a debut, I loved the writing and I can imagine this being so amazing!!
I definitely recommend checking trigger warnings because there are some darker moments 🖤

This was such a fun and atmospheric fever dream of a story. It felt like I was in a Brothers Grimm fairy tale where on the surface there was much to be enchanted by, but you couldn’t help notice the darkness and shadows trying to creep in. This is anything but a fairy tale love story though. It’s dark, toxic, a bit spicy, and I really enjoyed (and was relieved!) with the decision Jade made in the end. Also, I love a little cliffhanger!
I did wish for more character development and world building but it was a great start to what could be a fun series. Sometimes ambiguity can just create a more atmospheric and dreamlike narrative, which I enjoy.
I’m so intrigued by these Beings and their realms they rule and I’d love to explore that more- it was very different to anything I’ve read which I can appreciate.
If you enjoy a darker and devastating reincarnation story then you should definitely give this one a try!

Ugh I loved A Forever On Rooting of Jade and Hickory. The atmosphere of the forest and the mystery surrounding The Rooted Realm Estate pulled me in right away. Jade’s journey and the visions she experiences make the story feel both haunting and captivating. It’s a great blend of romance, paranormal elements, and gothic mystery. Definitely recommend if you enjoy immersive, atmospheric reads!!Not to mention at 234 pages, a total snack.

Ok I loved this book!
Such a unique concept, I absolutely loved the lore behind the trees and the connections to them. I partially loved how short it was because it was such an easily bingeable read but I also wish it could have been longer to allow a deeper dive into Jade’s previous lives and the beings of the Rooted Realm but I have full belief that will all be explored in book two!

This was gothic, it was sexy and mysterious. Just this very secretive tone, where the FMC is the only one who doesn't know the secret, and we really feel that along with her. Such a vibe. It also has this very botanical whimsy feel and ends on a cliffhanger that really makes me want to see where this goes. It was such a short, bingeable read with just the right amount of information. I am excited to see how the world expands.

LOVED this book! The imagery is outstanding. I enjoyed the blending of romance, nature, and fantasy. I look forward to more books from this author!
