This was such a good debut novel. There were so many aspects of this story that I really enjoyed, and I definitely didn’t expect the suspense element. That first twist caught me completely off guard, and I loved that the story took me somewhere I wasn’t expecting.
One of my favorite parts was the friendship between Jo and Paige. Their relationship felt genuine, and honestly, it was one of the highlights of the book for me. I also loved getting to follow Paige to the bookshop she owned and seeing that part of her life come into the story.
And then there was the spice… 👀 Let’s just say I wasn’t expecting it when it happened! I enjoyed it, but it definitely caught me by surprise.
The second twist at the end was good, although I didn’t necessarily feel like it was needed. Even with that, I had a really enjoyable time with this one, and for a debut novel, I think Michelle Eileen did a great job. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for what she writes next!

I thought this one was going to be another cowboy romance but I was wrong. It has a mystery element that surprised me. The FMC is a hot mess and I loved it. I listened to this one and it was the perfect narrator for the character.

I picked up A Real Paige Turner after a friend recommended it and introduced me to the author, and I’m so glad I did!
Paige O’Flynn is rebuilding her life after her fiancé leaves her for their real estate agent when Shayne Donovan, the broody new ranch hand, shows up and changes everything. What starts as undeniable chemistry and a slow-burn romance quickly shifts into something much more layered when tragedy strikes Jo and Paige begins to question whether Shayne is exactly who he says he is.
I was not expecting the mystery element and it made this SO addictive. I could not stop turning pages trying to figure it out. This book genuinely had me hooked from start to finish. From the romance, suspense, humor, and just the right amount of chaos, I devoured it. I’m already hoping there’s more coming from this world or these characters.

I love me a swoony cowboy romance, and this book did not disappoint. Shayne was everything I want in a cowboy hero, and the chemistry between him and Paige had me hooked from the start. I also loved how delightfully chaotic Paige was. She had me laughing so many times and made the story even more fun.
What I was not expecting was the mystery and suspense woven into the story, and honestly, it made the book even better. I loved that it was more than just a romance, and it kept me guessing until the end.

I loved this book! I’m not normally a romance novel reader, but this had me hooked! I love that it’s got a who-done-it style mystery intertwined with a fun playful romance. I could totally see this as a movie or tv series. I really enjoyed Paige’s inner dialogue and witty comments. Paige and Shayne’s banter is really playful. Twists and turns right up until the end. A really fun read!

A Real Paige Turner was such a fun surprise. I went in expecting a small-town romance with a bookshop-owning heroine and a mysterious cowboy, but I was not prepared for the mystery element to completely take over my brain. I devoured this book in a matter of hours because I could NOT figure out what was going on, and it was driving me nuts!
Paige embodies exactly the right amount of chaos. Her choices are always questionable, she finds herself in some truly ridiculous situations, and I spent half the book wondering how she got herself into these messes and the other half wondering how she was possibly going to get herself out of them. But underneath the sass and comedy is a woman rebuilding her life after having the future she thought she'd have completely ripped away from her. Between her love of romance books, her cozy bookstore, and her loyalty to the people she loves, she was such an easy character to adore.
And then there's Shayne.
I could never quite figure that man out, which only added to his allure. He's gorgeous, kind, charming, a little broody, occasionally hot and cold, and very clearly hiding something. Why is he working on Jo's ranch? Where did he come from? And why do strange things start happening around the same time he arrives in Silvercreek?
I HAD QUESTIONS.
Their chemistry and banter brought plenty of fun to the romance, but having that underlying suspicion constantly hanging over everything kept me flipping pages. Just when I thought I had something figured out, I'd start questioning everything all over again.
But the relationship that really gave this story its heart for me was Paige and Jo. Their friendship felt like its own love story—a platonic soulmate kind of love built on years of history, loyalty, and being there for one another. My heart absolutely broke for Jo as her world began crumbling around her yet again and she struggled to figure out who she could trust.
And Michelle Eileen, I'm going to need Jo's story next or we may have a problem. 😂
Then, just when I thought everything had finally settled down, another twist came along that I absolutely did not see coming. And somehow, once everything clicked into place, it made perfect sense and tied beautifully into the found-family element woven throughout the story.
For a debut, I was genuinely impressed by how much Michelle Eileen packed into this book. Romance, mystery, humor, friendship, found family, small-town charm, a cozy bookstore, a suspiciously attractive cowboy, and one delightfully chaotic heroine who kept me entertained from the very first page.
I'm officially invested in Silvercreek—and impatiently waiting to see whose story we get next.

This is a strong debut novel from an author I hope will grow into one I really love.
Paige runs her late grandmother’s bookstore in a small mountain town. She is still nursing the hurt of a breakup when Shayne, the gorgeous cowboy, turns up to work at Paige’s best friend’s ranch. Their attraction is immediate but there is a mystery developing that involves Shayne, the ranch and secrets from the past that may end their relationship before it even begins.
This books is a mashup of a lot of tropes. We have small town, cowboy, mystery/suspense, hero with secrets, heroine recovering her identity after a bad relationship. At times it feels a bit muddled. The beginning leans into a romantic comedy vibe. However the mystery element out ways the humor more and more as the book goes on, making the tone far more serious. By the time we get to the big reveal of the climax and the last minute twist, we are definitely in solid suspense territory.
The romance between Paige and Shayne underdeveloped for me. The time they actually spend talking to each other does not seem equal to the emotional connection that develops. Don’t get me wrong, the sexy stuff is sexy. But their physical chemistry gets a lot more page time than anything else between them.
It is really through her relationship with Jo, her best friend, and Jo’s young daughter that we get to know Paige best. Their long history, constant support for each other and eventual struggle to overcome a very real challenge to their relationship feels like the true love story here with the romance taking a back seat.
Overall, I am glad I read this books and will keep an eye on the author. I hope she learns to hone her story telling a bit because her writing style is charming and shows quite a bit of potential.

This book opens up in the best way...our bookseller FMC getting eaten out by a random man, one that she's really not that into and distracted by her ex's wedding across the street in the small town they live in. How's that for a messy beginning to our story?
Paige Turner is the book store owner in her small town after her grandmother passed and passed it down to her. Paige has to battle the towns' looks as her ex, John, get married to the girl he cheated on her with. This leads Paige down a rabbit hole, where she ends up naked and screaming at a river in the middle of the night...let's just say, our girl is having it ROUGH. Enter the new to town cowboy, Shayne. He ends up nickmaning her "Banshee" (don't we love an on point nickname?!?) due to her middle of the night howling. He saves her from the cold and they keep running into each other. Turns out, he's a new worker on her best friend's ranch.
As the romance between Paige and Shayne develops, there is more than meets the eye with her best friend's marriage. About 1/2 through, a mild mystery begins to occur that has Paige wrapped up not only in Shayne, but her best friend.
I really enjoyed this one! It wasn't a typical hot, sexy cowboy romance (although it is that too!). It had me wanting to read more (*cough cough* page turner) and invested in the characters. I especially loved the wittiness and funness of the writing!
With this book being under 300 pages, it was a great, quick read that had me wanting more!

A Real Paige Turner is a solid debut novel, flowing well and keeping me engaged throughout – indeed I finished it in just a few hours.
The book brings together many elements that I love: books and bookshops, cowboys and horses, and a suspense plotline. It also brings in a lot of well-known tropes: small town, cowboy romance, found family, secretive MMC, FMC recovering after the breakdown of a long-term relationship, and more. At times it felt like it was just trying to do a bit too much – while it had me hooked, it did feel like reveals were being added at too great a rate particularly as it neared the end. While I appreciated its relatively short length, I would have been happy with a longer book that explored some of these moments (and the events that led to them) in a bit more detail.
Paige was a very fun character. It was clear she would be right from the first page. I enjoyed seeing the relationships she had with other residents of Silvercreek, particularly her best friend Jo and honorary niece Kody. This was probably the most developed relationship of the story and where the book truly shone. As much chemistry as there was between Paige and Shayne, their romance felt quite sudden, and lacking the depth of the friendship between Paige and Jo. It’s through their history and support that we really gain a sense of Paige’s true character.
Overall then, this was a fun read that was difficult to put down, and I’m looking forward to reading more from Michelle Eileen in the future.

This one was unexpected! First of all, I adore the narrator Laura Horowitz, she made this entire novel come to life, and her ability to do such a seamless male voice is honestly breathtaking. I continuously forgot this was single narration, and it was SO easy to escape into the story along with all of the characters her voice brought to life, that I ended up devouring this in a single day.
I went into this audiobook completely blind, and I am SO impressed by this debut. Paige was chaotic, loving, and a whole mess of wild energy that I absolutely adored. She continuously got herself into the weirdest situations and I loved that the single POV didn't really spoil how Shayne felt about her, as he ran hot and cold along with her own insecurities and his secrets.
Her friendship with Jo was the heart of the story, and I wasn't expecting how much I came to care for her as a side character, even as we puzzled out what was going on in her relationship with her spouse, the eerie messages being delivered, and how that impacted everyone else in the story. I don't want to spoil anything, but the suspenseful twists and turns had me so invested, and I really hope the author turns this into a series because I need some retribution on page for other characters!
All in all, this was a great novel, with fantastic audiobook narration, and anyone who loves romance with some light suspense will be a fan!

I love a small town cowboy romance and was looking for something light to listen to. While this is a romance at heart, there was definitely a mysterious component that I was not fully expecting, which lands this more in the romantic suspense space.
I enjoyed the narration and found that the story was brought to life in a way that would have been more difficult if I read it on my Kindle. I appreciated the author's writing style and the way she told the story. However, there were several moments that took me out of the book and made it less enjoyable. I felt like the romance between the main characters was underdeveloped given the strong emotional connection they both felt for one another so quickly into their relationship. It gave me pause that Paige and Shayne were so quickly enmeshed in each other's lives despite having only known each other very briefly. The physical chemistry seemed to be all that was going for them. Additionally, the twist and mystery aspect of the story could have been made stronger; it seemed like the explanation for what happened was built up too much and too convoluted (to throw the reader off, I'm sure!). It didn't feel necessary, so I struggled with this being a romantic suspense as I felt like it didn't hit the spot for me in the romance or suspense genre.
Overall, I think this is a solid debut and I enjoyed getting to know the author through this book. There were a lot of tropes and elements I enjoyed, but ultimately couldn't rate this higher for the aforementioned reasons.

Additionally, the twist and mystery aspect of the story could have been made stronger; it seemed like the explanation for what happened was built up too much and too convoluted (to throw the reader off, I'm sure!). It didn't feel necessary, so I struggled with this being a romantic suspense as I felt like it didn't hit the spot for me in the romance or suspense genre.
Overall, I think this is a solid debut and I enjoyed getting to know the author through this book. There were a lot of tropes and elements I enjoyed, but ultimately couldn't rate this higher for the aforementioned reasons.

I really enjoyed ‘A Real Paige Turner’ by Michelle Eileen. I went into this expecting a sweet romance, so I was pleasantly surprised by the romantic suspense element. The first couple of chapters took me a little while to get into, but once I was invested, I found myself flying through the pages and finished it in just two days.
One of my favourite things about this book was the bookshop setting. I also loved the title, it perfectly suits both Paige and her bookshop while also describing the story itself, because it really was a page-turner.

This was a fun and easy little small town read. I listened to the audio and I do think it was slightly overperformed during the emotional parts, but that is just personal preference. I think overall it was well done.

One of the things I liked best about this book is how relatable the main character is, and I love that it is a very sexy, steamy romance, where the hot cowboy is equally as undone by our heroine as she is by him. He repeatedly catches her in very real and to her mind "Unsexy" situations, which only make him want her more. It's a good reminder to all us regular ladies out there that we are sexier than we think.
In addition to building excellent sexual tension with strong payoff in the steamy scenes, this is really a book about friendship, community, loyalty and trust. And I love that the real love story is between 2 friends. Michelle Eileen really captures the deep bond between Jo and Paige, and the real pain they both feel when their relationship hits some rocky ground.
The mystery element keeps the pages turning, trying to figure out what is really happening and who the good and bad guys are, and Paige is a delightful guide through the confusion.
Highly recommend for a fun read.

I was sucked into this book from the first spicy Page! As someone who typically reads mystery novels, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my first foray into the Romance genre. This book is absolutely not one dimensional- and I would even dare to call it a Romance/Mystery.
I especially loved Paige as a character. She's not just a woman searching for a man- she's independent, well-rounded, and shaped by real challenges, using humor as her armor. Her lifelong friendship with Jo added another layer I really appreciated. For many women, your best friend is your most consistent relationship, and that dynamic felt authentic and grounding.
When Paige meets Shayne, the sexy new ranch hand, she instantly feels lust towards him (how could you not- they're in a small town and he sounds HOT), however they aren't immediately naked tousling in a field and I think the slow burn builds tension that absolutely pays off.

I feel like the story could have gone into more detail of the mystery and backstories of the characters and the change of POV in one chapter kind of through me off as I would have wanted more throughout the entire book. A few spelling errors were noticed throughout the book although overall a fun read and i look forward to watching as the Author writing continues in futures reads.

A Real Paige Turner by Michelle Eileen absolutely lived up to its name—I couldn't stop reading! The character development was so well done, and I loved getting more invested in the characters and their relationships as the story progressed.

It added another layer of suspense and kept me guessing. There was tension not only within the relationship, but also throughout the scenes involving the other characters, which made the story that much harder to put down.
And, of course, the fun, sexy scenes added just the right amount of spice! 🔥 The combination of romance, chemistry, suspense, and unexpected twists made this such an entertaining read.
By the end, I was genuinely disappointed that it was over because I wanted MORE! I can't wait to see where these characters go next and am already hoping for a second book!

I did enjoy this book however it felt less focussed on Paige and Shayne unless they were jumping each others bones, and more how to solve the mystery behind Andy and Jo’s potential marriage breakdown. There was so much potential for a fantastic plot but I feel as though too much focus was on Jo and Andy compared to an actual development of a relationship between Shayne and Paige. It started off strong, I really liked where it was going but there needed to be more when it came to the build up between Shayne and Paige. They had chemistry and I like the two together but it went from 0-100 quickly: going from flirty banter to sleeping together. that being said, I did enjoy it. I was invested and wanted the truth, but perhaps less focus on Jo/Andy more on Paige and Shayne.

A Real Paige Turner is the kind of book that checks many of the boxes a romance reader comes to expect, but, it's still got such a unique, well-crafted voice and style. Without giving too much away, there's a plot element I didn't expect or see coming, but it felt so intertwined with the main characters' development that it WORKED - SO well. This is not a paint by numbers romance - it's wholly original, the heroine has real challenges and issues but she's strong and determined, and the secondary characters blended into the narrative seamlessly. You really felt immersed in this small-town world. I can't wait to read her next one and many thanks to Book Sirens for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I’m not normally a huge fan of single pov, but this was such a fun and easy read! The meeting between the two main characters had me laughing out loud and the banter between them was so funny. His nickname for her was priceless! Their love was amazing to watch it bloom. I’m not sure what I was expecting reading this, but I absolutely loved the suspense aspect to the plot! It had me rushing to finish the story to know what happens. I do hope there will be another book for Jo to see her happy ending.
I wish this book was just a little longer and didn’t have such a rushed ending. Maybe if it had an epilogue to see how Shayne and Paige made it work would’ve been perfect in my opinion.

I am a sucker for a swoon cowboy romance and boy did this deliver! I loved the relationship that developed between the FMC & MMC, Paige and Shane. The chemistry was truly sizzling and the tension and build up were fabulous. The suspense/mystery element was unexpected for me, but I really enjoyed it - I'm often looking for a more suspenseful book (romance or not) but when it's combined with a romance, even better!
