Okay, so I’ll admit it, I don’t usually like people very much. The only person I love in this world is Ackie, my baby brother, and I don’t need anyone else.
I have contemporaries, I have enemies, I have minions. I don’t have friends. I don’t even have a home.
Until now.
The list of people I would burn the world down for has expanded rapidly, and our home is under threat.
I don’t do things by halves. The angel on my shoulder is begging me to behave, but honestly… This is her fault for wanting me to have friends in the first place.
Worth Every Bite is book three in the Eternity College Chronicles, a fun new supernatural comedy and urban fantasy series that’s a little bit Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a little bit Wednesday, and a whole lot of Big Bang Theory.
A raving fangirl for all things paranormal, supernatural, supernormal and fantastical, Lauretta writes fun Urban Fantasy, PNR and Superhero adventures with a dash of sweet romance and humour.
She's a massive fan of Young and New Adult fiction, loves a plot twist, hates cliffhangers, and always keeps her readers on their toes.
When she's not writing, Lauretta enjoys fad diets, sunshine, her two little children, weird craft projects and massive amounts of dark chocolate
I must start with this, Lauretta has a style of writing that is 💯 addictive. Every time I open one of her books, I'm glued to the text, or rather, my eyes are. I find it impossible to put down, I'm like a junkie needing the next line, urgently! The humour she mingles in amongst the serious is truly unique and utterly riveting. Yes, Ms Lauretta Hignett ALWAYS delivers! So is it any wonder I'm fangirling?
All of this author's characters are totally unique, some even might appear unhinged and Marie is in a class of her own. She definitely has a flair for the dramatic, in a wacky, twisty kind of way, which is precisely why I adore her so much! Ronan summed her up brilliantly, "You have some serious personality defects you need to work on. You assume your superior intellect gives you the right to do whatever you want". She IS smart, super smart, with one goal in mind, protecting her brother, earning her degree and starting a new life with him away from their toxic mother. Except...yes, well...although her physical status changes dramatically with just one bite, her goal remains the same. But she has to survive first... there's her... umm... condition, which is challenging, seeing as everyone around her smells like the yummiest food, secondly, she needs to learn how to fight, thirdly, she has to try do what she can so that she and her friends don't get turfed out of their residence, and fourthly, she needs to help send back demons who keep popping up. There's a scheme in place to buy Noctiluna House and the only way to prevent it, is to compete in the Midnight Games. Which Noctiluna never wins. So, obviously, super smart Marie concocts a plan, not only to save their living quarters but, as much as she tried to deny it, as much as she was adamant she "doesn't do friends", she surprises herself with how much she cares about them and to protect this found family at any cost, they HAD to win. She, the snarky, cooky, mouthy, loner, won't admit this out loud, "I already love you all, and I don’t know what I’m going to do if I lose you."
The Games, predictable, are tampered with, giving Marie and her friends almost no chance of winning and, to add insult to injury, a demon is messing with their minds. I really got a sense of their trials, along with Marie's scheming, I couldn't help but cheer them on. Heck, Lauretta's prose is so vibrant, at times, off the cuff, much like Marie. It just is phenomenally entrancing, riveting and, did I mention, both tense and comical? But it's her ease of writing style that glues me to the pages, her characters are all flawed, all have "issues", although none more than Marie. Her snark, her genius mind, her isolating her emotions, which doesn't work btw, and her "battles" with the angel on her shoulders are some of the best banter I've encountered. I was delighted to see all Marie's friends rising to the challenge, but my greatest delight was seeing Marie "expand" herself, grow from a "don't care" to "caring", seeing a softer less stabby, "wanna do everyone in" Marie, as this sentence shows, "If I lose my soul, I’ll lose you, too. And Thalan, and Egbert, and Arin. So… I guess I have to be good.” For you.”
I adore Arin! He's still very much an enigma of where he came from but his support and adoration of Marie is unquestionable. I giggled at Marie's reaction to his presence, to his deeds, to his physique and I jumped up and down in joy when she finally let him in, even though she likes older guys, like way older, "He kissed me on and on, and I wanted it to last forever. I died a little. The old Marie died. The new one was much better." We get a more vulnerable side of Rolan, who leaves a trail of broken hearts in his wake, or perhaps, just drool from everyone ogling him. Hells, I'm drooling over him! And of course, I do have to mention Caligula/Cuddles, one cat, two sides and only Marie has the "pleasure" of seeing the real him, come out in force, literally! As do Harriet, Thalan, Egbert, all misfits in one way or another, show their fear and resolution perfectly.
It's another Lauretta winner with a few jaw dropping revelations, like REALLY jaw dropping. One in particular felt as though I'd been socked in the mouth, I'm still spitting out teeth from the blow. Lauretta carries her surprising twists even further, Shoot, and the epilogue once again caught me completely by surprise...now to quiet my impatience waiting for the next book.
ARC Provided by Lauretta Hignett in exchange for honest review.
Marie Shipton has accepted that she, who has only ever cared about her brother up until now, has friends. The "Scooby gang" are all set to start investigating the demon situation discovered in the previous book, when they become aware that it is Midnight Games time, a competition between Opulentos and Noctiluna Houses. Normally, they would ignore it... but this time, should Noctiluna House lose, it will be demolished and the tenants cast out. Marie can't have that. She has to finish her studies so she can get custody of Ackie, and she actually finds that she cares about her friends being cast out too. The demon hunting takes a back seat whilst Marie gets team Noctiluna shipshape for the Midnight Games, but have they got a hope of beating Opulentos, with all their money and prestige?
Marie is one of my favourite characters written by Lauretta. She has the sheer belief in her superior intellect like Dr Sheldon Cooper, a moral compass that consistently goes haywire, and a bloody-mindedness that would have the most patient person grasping for their temper. But in this instalment, she's changed slightly. Her attraction to Arin has got her all flustered, and her recognition of having friends, people that she cares for and care for her in return, sees her still do impulsive, outrageous (and sometimes horrendous!) things in pursuit of what she wants to achieve, but also sees her listening more to the Angel on her shoulder. This new side to Marie is slightly softer, without eroding the essence of a character so utterly unique that there is no comparison I can think of that will sum her up. After her discovery at the end of the novel (something, IIRC, the reader has been aware of since the previous book), I am itching to see which direction Marie's character heads in next. We know she's impulsive, we know she's incredibly smart and we know she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants, even with the Angel and Ronan trying to rein her in. This bell-ringer of a shock could see her reach her most outrageous yet.
I loved the development of the demon storyline, although it bubbled away in the background in light of the Midnight Games plot. Some of the demons are accounted for - so just where and what are the others? I can't wait to discover more about those, and also to discover if Lauretta is going to break my heart with one of them!
The Midnight Games were a great way to stoke up the ongoing resentment between the two houses, and to garner some more support for Noctiluna, who for so long have been a punchbag for Opulentos. Not a set of deadly trials but a bit of fun for the reader and a reason to root for Marie and her friends. Marie's antics through the rounds of competition are so typically her, with one stunt in particular stunning me for a good thirty seconds before I howled with laughter.
If you are looking for a feel good series with plenty of humour, a lot of heart (that Marie would absolutely deny, of course) and a Buffy the Vampire Scooby gang meets Scooby-Doo Scooby gang, The Eternity College Chronicles series is it - and Worth Every Bite is another fantastic instalment. I'm itching to know what comes next!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book!
SQUEEEE, Everything freaking time. Yep Lauretta has done it again, not only blindsiding me as she expertly does everytime (even when I saw one thing coming I still got clobbered out of left field with something else.) But her writing always captivates me and has my nerves tingling with anticipation when I pick up one of her books. And trust me, this one didn't disappoint in the slightest. Redheaded menace Marie is back and with extra bite too and I can't help but love everything about her. One of the things I love about this author is she creates incredibly unique characters, some totally crazy, some kickass, but all with personalities that I adore. And Marie is no exception. Along with that her brand of humour always has me laughing hysterically because she never fails to hit the mark with me, it's almost as if she knows I'm a little whacked myself and that appeals to me immensely. I swear one day Ms Hignett with destroy me with her prose but until then I'll gladly continue to follow everything she puts into words 😍
I can't help but adore Marie, I literally fell in love with her sassy, snarky crazy ass self way back in a previous series. I think it's probably because I do see a bit of me in her. I mean the girl literally has no freaking filter (me to a tee) and I clap my hands every time when she has a snappy comeback. But this time she gets another layer and I'm so happy to see her progress even if she drags her heels at the realisation until she literally can't deny it any longer. Marie has never really been a team player after all a know it all evil genius doesn't need friends only minions, but her budding friendships continue to progress to the point she's actually protective of them. When she discovers that there's a plot to buy and get everyone out of Noctiluna house under the guise of what's called The Midnight Games, Marie is already thinking twenty steps ahead. But this time she can't do it by herself, she needs all of her friends help. Yes she can scheme, think stabby thoughts however, it's a team effort this time. Because the odds are stacked against them at every turn, and you better believe I was on the edge of my freaking seat with each task.
Again for me her friends shine in this book not only do they genuinely care for Marie but they care for each other as well, in all the ways that matter. Egbert my little cinnamon roll, who doesn't always know what's going on but goes with the flow. Harriet, who is getting braver but still is coming on in leaps and bounds. Thalan who I literally want to hug and adopt immediately as my own. And of course Arin, who I'm totally in love with just because he is totally accepting of Marie no questions asked and makes her Undead heart flutter.
But I have to say the outstanding winner of thid is Marie's and Ronan's banter, it's always a delight, chock full of snarky goodness because damn, yeah that man can hold his own against her and I bow down to that alone. Le sigh...
And I'd be remiss in not mentioning my Fiery Floof Ball of Doom Caligula who's colourful language always makes me giggle, but this time totally took me by surprise....
I'm super stoked for the next book and I swear I'm already on pins and needles for it. I know in true Lauretta style it'll be leaving me with my jaw dropping just like the ending of this one did. Waiting impatiently now for the next one. Highly recommend 20/10 😁
Sharp, chaotic, and laugh out loud funny Worth Every Bite is packed with biting humour , lovable misfits, and a heroine you can’t help but root for (even when you probably shouldn’t)
Marie continues to be an inherently fascinating character who wears her flaws like a badge of honour, her impressive intellect as a suit of armour, and her “poke your eyeballs out” obnoxious T-shirts paired with ghastly jorts as a defensive shield.
Now finding herself in uncharted waters, Marie is learning how to care about people other than her younger brother, Ackie, as the Scooby gang has somehow wormed their way into her cold, dead heart. When an underhanded plan by the rival Opulentos house threatens to leave the Noctiluna residents homeless, Marie must use her evil genius powers for good and save her friends and their home by finding a way to win the annual Midnight Games.
A monstrous task, as the Opulentos house has never lost and the Noctiluna crew are, shall we say, not exactly the sporty type. While prepping the reluctant team with some fast track training and working on her win at all costs strategies, she’s also got Ronan begging her to focus on the demons escaping the nearby hell mouth and the thirst which, as a newly turned vampire, is threatening to overwhelm her whenever a blood bag isn’t readily available.
The tempting scents of both friend and foe are a constant source of distraction as her hunger builds, offal just isn’t the same, you know! The hunky, mysterious foreign student, Arin, has been a constant source of delight, lending her strength and support as their relationship grows but how much does she really know about him?
Cuddles the house cat (otherwise known as Caligula to those he despises) doesn’t slack off in his kitty quest to destroy Marie, providing some hilarious moments throughout.
With all of this happening, Marie is more inclined to let her less moral, more devious Cersei Lannister (minus the incest) side lead her instincts. However, she has her imaginary angel and Ronan both trying to rein in her unscrupulous tendencies. The banter between Marie and Ronan, and Marie and the angel is perfectly, hilariously witty. Ronan’s reactions to her blunt, unfiltered, entirely unhinged opinions are everything, they crack me up every time.
There’s something so comforting in knowing that every time I open one of Lauretta’s books, I’m not taking a walk on the wild side, but more of a stroll through a slightly deranged, unconventional, and thoroughly entertaining one.
Marie has never been the athletic type, so when the Midnight Games are coming up she doesn't really pay attention. Then she finds out that if (when) Noctiluna House loses, Opulentos House will take it over and they will all lose their places to live. Determined to not let this happen she pulls a team together to compete and try to beat Opulentos even when they fight dirty. There is also the hellmouth demon issue, which they find out is even worse than they thought. Can Marie save Noctiluna house, find the demons and the blood witch before anything else goes wrong? Marie is definitely unique. She is a know-it-all who thinks it's her job to tell everyone else the correct way to do everything. She has her one singular goal to get through college and get custody of Ackie. She is also a tad on the stabby/bitey side. Just talking about her, she seems like someone you wouldn't like but you honestly can't help but love her. She has never had friends, but she is finally coming to terms with her newfound family here at Eternity College. SHe is even learning to curb her appetite for blood and murder. Her friends are all wonderful in their own way, especially Egbert who I am hoping will have some sort of big surprise later!! The humor was amazing as usual as well! Marie is definitely snarky and Ronan is a perfect opposite with his dry comebacks. Marie will have you snort laughing throughout the book. The banter between her and her "angel" is hilarious and I can't wait to see what secret she is hiding as well! (I know there are going to be so many surprises and am so excited for them!) There are lots of shenanigans again in this book - no major battle but trust me you will still be glued to this book. Marie pulls out all the stops with her cunning and inventive solutions. And since I am on a surprise/revelation kick with this review, there was 2 big reveals at the end of this book. One I saw coming and one had me face palming that I didn't get it sooner! Can't wait for the next book!
Spectacular! Stellar!! Stunning!!! Marie still doesn't like people very much. Actually, the only person she loves is her baby brother, Ackie. She's had colleagues, coworkers, foes, and adversaries, though she sees most people as useful flunkies, never friends. She has, however, found a Place at Eternity College in Noctiluna House. The veil around the town hides magic, and her classmates dont know she is a fledgling vampire. Professor Ronan knows, and he has enlisted her help to eliminate ancient vampires and seal a portal to a hellish dimension. Marie is feeling affection, warmth, and, may I say, even tenderness for her gang, Harriet {witch}, Thalan {Siren}, and the humans, Arin and Egbert. Uncovering a conspiracy by Opulentos House to tear down Noctiluna, she gathers the crew, including a few human students, and resolves to win the Midnight Trials, a Trial their House has never won. The supernaturals and Arin are strong, strapping, and sturdy, so there is hope. But the humans' blood is mouthwatering, teasing her senses with fragrant scents like caramel-covered popcorn, classic spaghetti bolognese, or vanilla sorbet, and she is so very thirsty! The villainous orange cat, Caligula/Cuddles, is still meddlesome. Can her gathered unwilling troops achieve an unlikely win? Will they unearth the evil blood witch and diabolical demons swarming the town? Are the butterflies in her tummy from thirst or affection for Arin? Lauretta Hignett has once again devised a delightful story of sympathetic supes, diabolical demons, and fragrant, fallible humans! Marie is the sassy, smart, self-hating, and supernatural slayer I love to LOVE!! 5 brilliant bedazzled stars!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Definitely worth every yummy bite!! 🫦 {arc read}
CW: murder, rich people using their clout to harm poor people, anti-Black racism (by Marie but addressed by Ronan), game-changing information at the end
Marie can't catch a break: she's investigating the hellmouth with Ronan, trying to avoid speaking to her abusive mother, and coming to grips with the knowledge that she has friends (one of whom can see the angel on her shoulder that she used to be fairly certain was a hallucination). Now, she has also learned that Noctiluna House (where she and the rest of her friends live) has been wagered to Opulentos House (where all the rich students go). If Marie can't figure out a way for Noctiluna House to win the Midnight Games, it's over for the Scooby Gang II. But will doing everything she can lose her the friends she sought to protect?
This series packs such an emotional punch! I love watching Marie being repeatedly forced to confront if the ends really do justify the means. At one point she incites someone to say something that sounded pro-slavery (and Ronan removes her from the situation and calls her out on it). She is so used to doing whatever she can to win (whatever that means to her) but now she has to contend with how there are real human costs to doing so. Marie is learning consequences and experiencing what happens when someone you care about is unhappy with your choices. As someone who has spent years with certified geniuses, I think Lauretta has done an excellent job of showcasing how intellectual genius does not equate morality.
And also Caligula is a gift and needs his own series.
Another chaotic and fun adventure with my favorite wannabe evil villain and her friends! 😈💙
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This time it’s
I love this world and these ragtag characters. They're lovable and ridiculous, each one with their own set of baggage. And I love how Lauretta weaves in some heavy lessons on personal doubt and self growth in this book - in between Marie's dastardly plots and the hilarious hijinks.
Everything is set up so well - it's got the perfect mix of plot drops, character growth, action, laugh out loud moments, and sprinkles of what's to come.
So many great callbacks and little details that make this book sing.
The ending was jaw-dropping and I am so ready for the next book. It's NOT a cliffhanger, it's an absolutely delicious hook that is leaving me ravenous.
About Arin
✔️ Action-packed ✔️ Easy to read ✔️ Entertaining ✔️ Hilarious ✔️ Great world building ✔️ Original ✔️ Page-turner ✔️ Wonderful characters
With each book in this series we get to know Marie a little better. Perhaps it would be true to say that she is also getting to know herself better - with a little help from the ‘angel’ on her shoulder.
Marie decides that she and her friends have to take part in the Midnight Games. Her reasons for this are complex, as Marie begins to see her life from a slightly different perspective. The search for the blood witch continues, but winning the games becomes the centre of Marie’s focus. She is still a bossy know it all, certain she knows what’s best for everyone, with Ronan and the ‘Angel’ doing their best to make her less inclined to use murder as the answer to every problem. She is still an absolute menace. But, could it be the Marie is discovering a little more humanity as a vampire, than she had before she was turned? Her friends have become important to her in a way she never expected.
There is an action packed story line, some food for thought (certainly for Marie), lots of laughs and some surprises for Marie, as well as for us, the reader.
Marie is back, this time trying to save Noctiluna house from being taken over and demolished. To do this they must win the Midnight Games against the snobbish Opulentos. Marie and her friends are major underdogs. This book highlights the effort Marie makes in getting her friends to help, she helps build them up, highlights their strengths and become teammates. She also has to fight regularly with herself. There are also demons around that must be destroys including one that is a mosquito. This book has a lot of humour, the interesting characters and their interactions, some surprises and a great story. I loved the book even though I don’t really love Marie, for some reason she bothers me at times. Maybe because she seems so self centred – that is getting better. But even with my slight dislike of Marie, I dropped everything else to read this when I got the ARC. Overall, the book is worth it. Great read.
WOW!! These books just keep getting better and better, which I didn't think was possible. Marie has to prevent herself and her friends from being made homeless. To do this they have to defeat the rich snobs in the Midnight Games. The problem is, the rich snobs have won the games every year for a very long time. Logically I know that Marie’s team has to come out on top - she can’t be made homeless; one way or another they have to win the games, or sort something else out (sorry if anyone thinks this is a spoiler). But logic doesn’t seem so sound when the suspense is building. This really did have me on the edge of my seat, I had to stop reading from time to time just to calm down.
The world building and character development are so addictive. I also like the fascinating idea of human created gods being given real existence. Well, gods / demons. As ever, I am anxiously awaiting the next book.
I received an ARC which in no way affected my review.
So on top of a blood witch, a hellmouth, a lack of blood supplies, Demons, Rogue Vampires and her surprisingly growing attraction to Arin, Marie now has to deal with the possibility of Noctiluna House being closed. She has made her very first friends and they could all be thrown out with no way to continue their education. Marie is juggling a lot and her priorities are not always what Ronan, or the angel in her shoulder, would like them to be. Marie is slowly learning empathy from her friends but at the same time she now has more people to protect and she is willing to go a long way to protect what she loves including blackmail and extreme violence. The question is will her friends soften her too much to be original recipe Marie and do what needs to be done to save everything. As an evil genius Marie is sublime and I always love a morally gray character, this is an absolute triumph of a book.
At the risk of repeating my words from my review of book 2, I once again loved seeing the character growth in Marie, and the sense of belonging with a found family increasing. The Midnight Games focus of the plot was fantastic, and had me biting my nails at times, and thoroughly enjoying Ronan’s involvement and his own emotional growth too.
While some storylines are resolved, at least for now, we are left again with more questions than answers, and an intense desire to read more immediately 😵💫, but patience is a virtue I guess. There was some hilarious moments, like a certain mower and a feline 😉 (you will see) and some heartfelt moments of both love and fear. I know Lauretta never leaves me hurting at the end of her series, but that doesn’t mean you don’t genuinely worry along the way - another fantastic instalment in Marie’s (and the gang) story, can’t wait for more!
This book is a 5-star read! I am obsessed with everything Marie and Noctiluna House! Heading into the games, they knew Opulentos weren’t going to fight fair. I wanted to hate all of them, but I was pleasantly surprised by a few. Marie and Ronan are the most unlikely duo, but I adore their relationship. It feels very much like true siblings and when it counts, there is compassion, support, and understanding (and from Marie too!!). Caligula is his usual cat self, looking out for number one, which luckily had its perks. Thalan is definitely becoming one of my favourite characters, and Harriet is the best friend everyone needs. Overall, I loved being back in this world and with these characters, and I already can’t wait to see what happens next.
Quirky, entertaining, action-packed, heartwarming, and a bit dark at times, with a little bit (or maybe a lot) of 'what the...heck...is this author's mind doing?' This instalment of the series more than lives up to everything we have learned to expect from Lauretta Hignett.
We're kept thoroughly entertained throughout by a shoulder angel trying to be the voice of reason against Marie's complete lack of moral grounding. The combination works well to tell a tale of friendship, heartbreak, love and redemption – while the author makes good use of her characters to speak out for equality and acceptance of all.
Being mid-series, we are left with more questions than answers, as the tension of the over-reaching story arc builds – in the best possible way. Looking forward to the next.
Eternity College book 3 was hugely enjoyable, talk about character growth!! This book sees Marie and her band of fellow Noctiluna residents competing in the Midnight Games against their arch rivals and opposing house Opulentos. The stakes are high and the emotions are flowing, we meet new baddies we love to hate and we gain a deeper understanding of both the FMC's inner journey, the scooby gang's feelings/fears/hopes and we even get a peek under the hood of some of the Opulentos motivations and family situations. We see a good few "reveals" in this book which were equal parts "I knew it!" and "OMG!" Eagerly awaiting book 4 to see how the story progresses.
I know this writer will always keep me on my toes, and this latest book is an example of why that is. Marie is back, and she’s as snarky and smart as ever. This time she has to corral her house buddies into service…er, uh, helping her win the Midnight Games before they all lose their residence to the other house’s parents. This is full of surprises, and I think I have an inkling about Marie’s angel. No spoilers, though. I read this in one sitting, and I’m so ready to read another book in the series. Well-written, fun, engaging, snarky, and did I say fun?!? Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This book is ALL about the character growth and I'm totally down for it. There's something so affirming about seeing people develop their potential, especially when a bit of redemption is involved, and this book certainly provides plenty.
The neurospicies, the anxious, the nerds, the outcasts and the underappreciated - all are celebrated and helped on their way in the frank and frankly hilarious machinations of Marie, the reluctant vampire.
Some secrets are coming to light - did you guess them? - and the ending... well, I didn't see that one coming.
As usual, the offensive cursing of Caligula is a delight. Anyone in need of some swearing inspiration should definitely get this book!
Marie is having a busy time in college she needs to learn how to fight so she can take care of the blood witch, figure out where Arin came from, and... oh win the midnight games pay off the house debt and secure her home at college, no biggie right? There are three events in the midnight games, capture the flag, tug of war with a fundraiser gala night, and an obstacle course. She scrapes together a team of the house misfits and starts to plan how to win. Meanwhile she is still trying to find all the escaped demons and close the hellmouth and find the blood witch. I loved this book! Deserves every star!
Marie is back and this time, her and her friends could lose their home. Marie is ready to fight though and to keep their home they need to win the Midnight Games.
Marie uses her intellect to try and outwit the competition. Not always in the most obvious way. Yet again with any of Lauretta’s books, you get superb and engaging writing, nuanced and interesting characters and a great plot that moves along enticingly.
Marie is back and causing absolute chaos. The amount of emotional growth she is being forced to experiencing is painfully funny but she is doing it in her own sweet way. I love the running commentary and de-escalation of homicidal tendencies the Angel on her shoulder provides and adore the scooby gang she has found herself a part of. You will never be disappointed by anything Lauretta Hignett writes and I can’t recommend this enough!
Marie is such a badass and shows just how good she is at team building. She enlists the help of her friends and some new faces to compete in the Midnight Games against the enemy Opulentos. There are also demons on the loose that need rounding up and dealing with. Can the team overcome both enemies? You won't be disappointed, it's such a great read 🥰
This is one of those books, that is so hard to put down. Lots of action, adventure and fun. Marie is changing, and so is the world around her. She’s finding herself and her priorities cannot be sustained if she wants to keep her friends and found family. Will she do the right thing?
You better read to find out. I highly recommend this book, series and of course amazing Author Lauretta Hignett!
Things are afoot at Eternity College and Marie is not having it. She needs to finish her studies but if her accommodation is torn down it not only impacts her but others. Opulentus must be defeated. Does Marie understand the concept of team work and who is Arin? Marie might have book smarts but there’s still plenty left to learn. Lauretta has not let us down with this book, plenty of fun and feels abound. Loved it
Marie’s story evolves in this book. with her group of misfit friends and the “angel “ on her shoulder Marie fights not to lose her home. Great story and wonderful teaser at the end. Love this group.
Captivating story. I felt like I was running in the games with them. Marie is delightfully morally challenged. The cat is truly evil. Her friends are tolerant and complex. More please.
I downloaded this as soon as i realized it had come out. Im really surprised how much I like Marie's story. This book felt like to was 3 chapters long. It just flew by. I LOVE the teasers through the story. When is the next one available. I need it now.
Marie is back and she is hungry! As always, Lauretta knocked this out of the park! It was so fun to read. It was hilarious and Marie is definitely still unhinged, but slowly growing and changing. I am looking forward to the next one!!
I LOVE that Marie isn't written to be instantly lovable. She’s a vampire with a BAD attitude and TRULY awful fashion choices, but somehow she still got under my skin.
