I will not kiss my brother’s best friend. Again.
I did that last year, with humiliating results. Going forward, the only way to save my dignity is to set my lifelong crush aside and treat him like any other guy.

Oh my gosh!
😂 Genny made me laugh and say awwww 🥰 so many times!
(And no third act breakup) ❤️❤️
Here are the best lines:

“I saw this rock that looks like a heart, and I thought of you.” His mouth tilts into an awkward smile”
(Talking about Charlie’s sweet grandpa)
“Dad runs one arm along my shoulders, hugging me to his side. “He was never very good at talking about feelings. I think that’s why he was so big on giving little gifts. He couldn’t say in words how much someone meant, but he could do small things every day to prove how much he loved us.”

It always surprises me when someone falls in love and/or realizes he/she is in love, but yet waits months or even years to do anything about it. Charlie takes a chance and kisses Leo only to have him react with shock. For Charlie, it's devastating and embarrassing. It's so traumatizing that when Leo begins actively persuing her a year later, she doesn't believe he's serious. I realize the Leo was playing football and he was out of town for a while, but why doesn't he call her, text her, send her something to indicate he was interested and he was sorry for his first, immediate reaction? Regardless of my desire to see quicker reaction times (LOL), I LOVE Charlie and Leo's story so very much!

This was such a delightful little novella. Again, Genny has the best sense of humor, and Leo’s internal and external dialogue was hilarious. I definitely laughed out loud multiple times. He was so gone for Charlie, and I loved that he used banter and care to disarm her walls in the best way. I can understand Charlie’s embarrassment, but I’m glad it didn’t take long for her to open up to Leo again and love him right back. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer! This makes me want to read One Small Spark again because of the Wren and Shepherd cameos.🤩 I’m so ready for all the Sunshine stories to come!🥰

I loved this wonderful novella! Having read the last two books in the Love in Sunshine series, I had met these two main characters before. It was so fun to see how their relationship moved from brother's best friend into romance. From a disastrous first kiss that we get a flashback to in the book to watching Leo truly work to win Charlie over and convince her that he is all in for her, their romance is completely swoon worthy! This was a story that made me so happy as I read it.
