Vibrantly colored, filled with emotions and fabulous facial expressions, FOX WHO CAN WAIT is an instructive and entertaining read for your littles AND your others who need some encouragement to patiently wait.

Let me start with the illustrations - they are marvelous! I am seriously considering making a collage of my favorite characters and putting them up in my home; they’re that good. Fox is the main character, as far as being patient, but for me, the old, wise owl steels the whole story. This character is portrayed as a senior, grandmother type. She is wearing a black dress with white polka dots and Peter Pan collar and a red sweater and tam. Best of all, she’s rocking a pair of blue glasses with gold hoop earrings and ornate brooch. She is stylin!

Grandma Owl is the judge for a cooking contest the forest animals have agreed to. Bear, Rabbit, Mole and Fox are the entrants. Each one brings their best ingredients to make their favorite dish. All of their efforts are watched by a precious collection of forest friends - birds, hedgehog, raccoon, snail, butterflies, bugs.

How many different friends can you find?

Each cook is trying to make their favorite dish best dish and win the contest. Anticipations rise and anxiety creeps in. Each participant has an unique experience for readers to learn from. SO. MUCH. FUN!

Accompanying the engaging artwork are brief rhyming couplets telling the tale. The rhymes work easily and the vocabulary is appropriate for the target audience.

My only quibble is with how the pages display on the Kindle version. The story is told via 13 two page spreads. It displays as individual pages with no way to view and enjoy the entire picture by joining the two pages. I tried this on a cellphone and tablet in both portrait and landscape mode; no option works to achieve the “big picture”.

Despite the display difficulty, I recommend this book for everyone, not just patiently challenged people. The quality of illustrations and rhyming text will make FOX WHO CAN WAIT a family favorite📚

Note: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is so beautifully designed, the pace of the story is great, the message at the end I would say it applies to all ages!

Besides of such lovely illustrations that combine pretty well with the story that has such a nice pace.

On one hand, this book is suitable for kids ages 3 to 6 by reading it to them or along with them. At the same time, it is an excellent option for English language learners.

Slow Down and Relax.
Charming story that teaches the basic lesson of just being calm, instead of rushing around from one work to another.
Judge Owl has to judge a cooking contest and Bear, Rabbit, Mole and Fox all participate in it.
Cute whimsical tale with neat illustrations and the book would be a great little tale for little kids.
Thank you for the e-Arc Netgalley.

That was good! Teaching the kids about patience and trust the timing.

My son helped his daddy cooking all the time, so the story of this book was relatable for him. He knows not to rushing when it comes to cook and this book was all about it.

The illustrations were so good. Vibrant with colors and full of details.

Thank you to Kateryna Dronova and NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley, for providing me with this arc, in exchange for my honest review.

This book is perfect for little readers! A simple story, written in rhyme, with a great lesson about having patience and absolutely beautiful and adorable illustrations.

The forest animals want to cook and have fun so they decide to hold a cooking contest.

Every contestant is busy bringing ingredients, preparing the food and anxiously waiting and constantly checking on the food that seems to never be ready! But not fox! Fox is the only contestant who is calm and trusts the process.

The judge, a wise owl, being a female for a change, was such a nice surprise!!

My Rating 4/5 stars

My Children and I enjoyed the book 'Fox Who Can Wait." We read this book together as a family. A few things my children enjoyed were the vibrant illustrations, the adorable woodland creatures, and the ease of the reading. I think this book displayed a good understanding of the concept of waiting. I did take away one star because I wish the book was a little more legnthly. Not chapters, but a few more pages with words. Overall I would recommend this as a good book for children ages 1-6 because its mostly a picture book.

Thank you Net Galley and the Publisher to review my ARC copy!

Fox Who Can Wait is a cute story about the virtue of patience. All the animals of the forest are making food for the contest but Fox is the only animal who waits for his food to finish without getting worried. And Fox's berries taste the best! My 4 year old son thought the Fox and the Bear were fun and he wished he could taste Fox's berries too. The illustations are so fun and eye catching. My only issue is one of the pictures of Fox looks much different than the others so my son was confused on who that animal was. Overall, a great story for a little one!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Okay I did not expect to love this as much as I did but wow this one stuck with me. Right from the start the forest is buzzing with excitement and everyone is rushing around making a big mess and honestly it feels just like real life with kids. Fox though just chills and waits and watching that play out was so satisfying. I loved how simple and clear the message was without talking down to anyone. This is one of those books kids actually listen to and adults secretly cheer for. Total win for story time 🦊🍯

This is such a sweet and engaging story about patience and taking your time. A forest cooking contest sounds fun until everyone rushes and things start going wrong, except for Fox who stays calm and waits. I loved how the message came through naturally without feeling preachy, and the illustrations kept my attention the whole way through. I really enjoyed reading this because it opened up an easy conversation with kids about slowing down and being thoughtful, all while still being fun and playful.

sweet book for early readers

A group of forest friend have a contest to see who is the best cook.

It’s a nice story that shows slow and steady wins. You don’t have to rush or add more to something to make it perfect.

Well illustrated and a bunch of cute forest friends. We will add this book to our bed time routine.
