This is the end to a three part series that is full of action you are going to love it. Jo is in LA helping set up a counterfeiter task force. Gabe comes to visit taking a long overdue vacation. Jo and Gabe relationship has always been behind closed door neither wanting the fallout it would bring to those they work for. In LA they are free to let it grow building a united front as they work toward bring justice to major companies who lose billions of dollars a year to counterfeiters.
On her way to the airport to pick up Gabe she decides to kill some time and do some shopping for some counterfeit items which gets her in more trouble than she ever expect leaving Gabe again trying to protect her and keep her alive. The story starts with fast pace action we see the dangers of being in the wrong place at the wrong time leaving both Gabe and Jo seeing more action then they bargained for.
Captured really kept me hanging on the edge with a story I could not put down. I loved this series, this one would be my favorite of the three books. Although some of the series can be read as standalones to get the full impact of what their job is and their relationship you will want to read them all. Separate they are wonderful reads too together they are outstanding. This is a series that will hold your attention giving you one heck of a ride as you hold your breath wondering if they will make it out of this last story alive. There is some touch and go scenes that keep this a page turner from the first page to the last.
If you are looking for an outstanding action pack thrilling read this will give you the suspense you crave. It is well written with delightful characters that pull you in demanding and holding your attention. You might want to pick up the box-set to get all three books at a good price it is well worth the buy
A nice fast paced romance. Jo decides to get in one last knock off purchase to help a client before her NYPD Sergeant boyfriend comes in for a vacation, but that turns out to be a life changing purchase. She didn't count on murders going down. Now with the help of Gabe she has to get proof of who is behind it all before it's too late. While all this suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat you have humorous moments that just make you chuckle out loud.
This is the final book in the Justifiable Cause trilogy and I believe it was my favorite. Loved how Jo and Gabe's relationship developed and matured. Really enjoyed the action and suspense in this one. Now that they wrapped up the large case in NY & SC, it's time to take the task force nationally. The action in LA might be a little more than either Jo or Gabe bargained for though!!
I really enjoyed this trilogy and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
After reading an early copy of this, I have to say, it is the best of the series! I absolutely loved watching Jo and Gabe's relationship continue to move forward in this one. I also enjoyed the suspense aspect and wrap up of the series. It all ended great in my opinion! If you like romantic suspense, give this series a try.
This is the third book in the Justifiable Cause series. As always, Adrienne Giordano writes to keep you captivated! Loved the book, and ready for more!
The Capture is the third and final book in Adrienne Giordano’s Justifiable Cause series. Jo Pomeroy, an attorney from New York, is in Los Angeles helping them set up the same anti-counterfeiting task force she helped start in New York. Gabe Townsend, is not only a sergeant on the same New York task force, but he is also her secret boyfriend. Gabe decides to take a vacation and meet Jo out in Los Angeles where they can openly enjoy their relationship. There is, however, a small problem: Jo decides to checkout one more shop to see if she can identify any more knock-off items when she becomes a potential witness to a murder she didn’t see. Unfortunately, due to that small problem, they are in danger as Jo is suddenly on a hit list.
I really like Gabe and Jo because not only are they both successful in their careers, but they have a mutual respect for each other both personally and professionally. Jo believes in the job of the task force and doesn’t think twice about the danger she places herself in by trying to ferret out counterfeit products without appropriate backup. Gabe is an alpha male that wants to keep “his woman” safe, but he goes about it in a more rational way without going all “caveman” on Jo. Without giving anything away, I thought the ending was sweet.
I loved this three book series that focused on Gabe and Jo. Maybe we will be lucky to see another book about them in the future. If you like romantic suspense novels, you will not be disappointed in this book. Ms. Giordano has written a fast-paced novel that will keep you going until the end.
*** I received an advanced copy in exchange for a review that is entirely my own. ***
This was a short, but satisfying read--I read it in a single sitting. (Can you call it a "sitting" when you haven't gotten out of bed yet? I love lazy days off...)
Reading about established couples is fun--when done well, it's even fun when you haven't read the rest of the series. (I haven't--yet. But you'd better believe I'm going to now--since they're novellas, it'll be easier to squeeze them in ;)) I enjoyed Jo and Gabe's relationship--it reminded me a lot of Castle and Beckett's back when they were still trying to keep theirs a secret; like them they weren't exactly fooling everyone but, hey--nice effort ;)
Like any good romantic suspense hero and heroine, even being on vacation doesn't stop the danger. (Also like any good romantic suspense hero and heroine, they pretty much invite trouble to join them on their trip out of town.) An accidental witness to murder, Jo's soon on the hit list of a dangerous motorcycle club, and Gabe has to work with an LA lieutenant who's been a part of Jo's new task force to keep her safe.
Only, you know, he's not really working, because he's on "vacation".
Can Gabe keep Jo safe? Will Jo be able to stop a counterfeit cigarette ring? Will they ever have a real vacation, with actual relaxation and a lack of death threats and everything? You'll have to read The Capture to find out!
Rating: 4 stars / B+
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked reading about the circumstances Jo finds herself in while she is in LA expanding the counterfeiting task force she helped initiate. When her not so secret boyfriend Gabe joins her there - a vacation for him - they soon both find themselves in deeper and more danger than either of them anticipated.
As the Justifiable Cause series has progressed, I've enjoyed seeing the evolution of Jo and Gabe's relationship. Where it started to where it is now and seeing it get there has been an exciting journey. I like how they are together, professionally and personally. It seems to just keep getting better! The challenge now is a long distance relationship for how ever long Jo will be in LA...can their relationship withstand it? I liked the little glimpses of jealously that Gabe exhibited. I could really feel the attachment between the two of them, but it was little moments like that that made them realistic and a believable couple.
The unexpected danger that Jo and Gabe find them selves facing in the counterfeiting criminal world brings an adrenaline rush and the suspense keeps the excitement level up. I was interested to know how things would work out professionally and personally for Jo and Gabe...they have come this far, would they take it even farther? Or will the danger be too much?
A good mix of romance and suspense, The Capture (and the whole Justifiable Cause series) is a story I'd recommend to any romantic suspense reader!
Giordano's Justifiable Cause series combines an appealing romance with plenty of action. Attorney Jo is helping LA set up a knockoff task force similar to the successful one she helped run in NY. Her NY police boyfriend, Sgt. Gabe, is coming out to see her for a visit. Before he comes, she finds she can't resist shopping for knockoffs, collecting evidence, though she knows she is not supposed to do that kind of thing on her own. At one store, she witnesses a strange man getting into an argument, and heeds her uneasy feeling to get out of the store quickly. She later learns that double murder took place minutes after she left.
Working with Gabe and police, she identifies the member of a notorious gang as the killer. Gabe knows if Jo has to testify that she will never be safe again. Despite his best efforts to protect her, she helps him track down the criminal with her LA police contacts in this exciting story.
Fans of Garwood's Buchanan series will enjoy these books. While it stands alone, reading the series in order is even more fun.
The Capture is the third and final book in Adrienne Giordano’s series Justifiable Cause. Joanna Pomeroy is an attorney seeking justice for the fashion industry while Gabe Townsend is a member of a special task force for the NYPD. Joanna has gone to California to establish a task force to end fashion counterfeiting in California. Almost immediately she gets into trouble—almost witnessing a murder. Gabe finally takes a vacation following Joanna to California. His vacation turns into a working trip as he works to protect Joanna. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Joanna and Gabe’s relationship grow throughout the series. The Capture is filled with continued suspense as they try and put an end to the counterfeiting. This can be read as a standalone book; however, I suggest reading The Chase and The Evasion first. I loved this book and I highly recommend all of the books in the Justifiable Cause series. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy of The Capture in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Jo Pomeroy is eagerly waiting her lover, Gabe. He's coming to vacation with her in California. She and NYPD Sergeant Gabe Townsend work together on the Clean Sweep Task Force in New York. No one knows that they are a couple. They are keeping it on the down low. Things change when Jo can identify a gang member who the police believe committed murder. Can Gabe protect her? Jo is a feisty woman who is dedicated to her work. She's a lawyer who is tracking down stores that sell counterfeit merchandise. I love her strength and her courage. She needs to be in the thick of things. Gabe is a wonderful hero. He's strong, passionate and protective of his love. This story is fast moving and suspenseful. I enjoyed the action and the romance. The setting shows us a darker side of paradise. The Capture is a worthy addition to the Justifiable Cause series. Adrienne Giordano knows how to ramp up the danger and the romance.
The Capture by Adrienne Giordano is the third and final book in her Justifiable Cause novella series. It was a perfect ending to this series.
The book starts three weeks after The Evasion and Jo is in LA heading up a new task force for the mayor. Gabe takes vaction time to visit Jo. There is still the banter and the sparks are flying high since they haven't seen each other in three weeks. However, this new adventure for them is not related to counterfeit goods but murder.
The relationship between Jo and Gabe is serious now and they are both thinking of a future. Unfortunately, before they can enjoy any time together there is a small matter of Jo having witnessed a possible murder suspect. The book moved quickly and I enjoyed both the action and the twists as this romantic suspense moved into it's finale.
This series was a great read and I will be recommending it to my friends who love romantic suspense.
NYPD Sergeant Gabe Townsend decides to join his attorney partner, Jo Pomeroy, on a vacation on the West Coast. His relaxation goes out the window, as Jo continues to work and put herself in harm's way. Tasked with keeping counterfeits off the street, Jo feels that is her number one priority, while Gabe wishes for more one-on-one time. Will the two be able to set aside their differences and see they are a perfect match or will their jobs destroy everything they've worked for?
This is the conclusion of the action-packed Justifiable Cause series. Talk about romantic suspense! This is the first opportunity for the characters to show their insecurities and really grow. Each book keeps getting better! Readers will fall for Jo and Gave and they will wish this series didn't come to an end.
Notes:
I received a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review. This review was originally posted on the Ariesgrl Book Reviews website.
Great Series! This is a great series; this is the third book in the Justifiable Cause series by Adrienne Giordano. This is a great short story that can be read in one sitting. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend that you read all of the books in this series since they have the same characters. Jo and Gabe are ready for their vacation where they won’t have to hide their relationship. But when Jo is asked by the mayor to help rid the city of illegal knockoffs she can’t refuse. When she ends up on a killer’s hit list Gabe must help the woman he loves. This is a great story and I am looking forward to reading the next book. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Jo is the hot shot attorney & Gabe is sexy sergeant working on the same task force with her. Together they are on a task force for counterfeit goods while trying to keep their relationship on the down low. Jo is off to California setting up a task force in LA like the one she has going in New York. Of course nothing can be easy for Jo & Gabe. While there Jo becomes a witness to a crime. Now Jo & Gabe must go into action once more to capture the suspect before they can harm Jo. The fast pace and need to rely on others that they don’t know as well as back in New York was suspenseful. The ending to the book and the series is not only sweet but satisfying in true Jo & Gabe style. While part of the series, it can be read as a stand alone.
I totally enjoyed this book. It is my first book by Adrienne Giordano and it is really great. Although it is part of a series, I didn't feel as if I was missing out on anything having not read the earlier books in the series. But after reading this, I'll definitely read the other books in the series.
Even though it is a novella, it was well written and well paced. Most novellas feel as if the story is rushed and the couple falls in love way too quickly. But The Capture was really well-developed, exciting and really interesting.
I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Their quest to catch counterfeiting smugglers now takes NYPD Sergeant Gabe Townsend and attorney Jo Pomeroy to Los Angeles. Jo cannot stay out of trouble, but this time it’s not entirely her fault. When she happens to identify a murder suspect, things get out of control fast, and this time it’s Gabe who gets himself in a pickle. What do bikers have to do with counterfeiters of high-end products? Read THE CAPTURE to find out! Although it is the third and final instalment of the Justifiable Cause series, Ms. Giordano gives enough details about the whole story arc that THE CAPTURE can be read as a standalone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. It was the first book I have read in this series and I will definitely go back and read the other two! JO is in Los Angeles to help set up a task force for contraband items and Gabe joins her three weeks later for a vacation. It is fun to see two people so much in love and watching them read each other's minds. There is lots of fun and intrigue with bikers in the story and I especially loved the ending.
I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This time around, Jo Pomeroy is trying to track down counterfeiters in the LA Fashion District as she helps LA set up a task force like the one they have been so successful with in New York. During a buy, she stumbles into the middle of a crime and begins being hunted by a biker gang.
Gabe Townsend shows up on vacation to visit Jo and learns what is going on and races to keep her safe. With LAPD's help, they go on the hunt to locate the gang member can recognize Jo, and wind up stumbling into a way to find the leader of the smuggling ring's operation.
In the 3rd book in the Justifiable Cause series, Adrienne has continued with the romantic suspense with Jo and Gabe. This time Jo has gone to LA to help them set up a task force on smugglers who are sneaking in counterfeit items. Gabe comes out on vacation and it all breaks wide open when Jo might have witnessed the person who murdered two people. Once again Gabe and Jo have strong differing opinions about how to do things causing sparks to fly again. A non-stop intriguing story that makes you want more.
WOW! Another amazing hit by this author. While part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would strongly recommend reading the others in the series. A quick read. The story flows smoothly, is well developed and the characters are realistic and will capture your heart. An awesome Romantic Suspense!

Love this book can not wait to see if there is more of these two to come . I Love Adrienne's books if you have not read them yet give them a chance . She writes mystery and romance in a good mix. Love How Gabe decides to come clean to the world as does Jo and how they do it ! you will enjoy this book. and it can be read alone but I think you will enjoy it more if read with the rest of the series , for then you will have their back story.
Jo is in LA trying to set up a program for counterfeit goods. She is buying a purse when a biker comes in with some cigarettes to sell. She makes a note and then heads to the airport to pick up Gabe. She then discovers that the people running the store were murdered shortly after she was there. They are in a strange city and have to find the murderer so Jo won't have to testify against a member of a notorious gang. Again, Jo finds herself in hot water.
Loved all the books in this series and was lucky enough to get a copy in return for an honest review This time Jo and Gabe are in LA and where Jo is trouble seems to follow, luckily Gabe is on hand trying to enjoy time with Jo if you want to know any more read the book well read the series you wont be sorry full of action , scorching scenes and attraction and love that you can feel heating up its a great read and i enjoyed every page of it
Another action packed romantic suspenseful novel. This time in LA with Jo setting up a new task force and once saga n getting in trouble. This time with a biker gang. And Gave comes for vacation to be with her however that's not what happens..go figure. Will they get their vacation or not? Have to read to find out. Loved it and pantsuit for next book.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was a very quick read and quite enjoyable. I read the second book in this series and enjoyed the third book even more. The characters really grew on me. They were very respectful of each other and accepted each other unconditionally. I recommend this book to people who enjoy a good romance with an action packed story.
The Capture by Adrienne Giordano (Justifiable Cause book 3)
The Capture is conclusion of this novella trilogy and the best of the three stories. This last had the action, thrills, suspense and a good romance. I enjoyed this trilogy since each chapter got better and had more depth of character. I'm not sure I liked either of them initially but they grew to be better together.
They just can't stay out of trouble! These two make an irresistible team. When they travel for a little business and a little fun the business becomes deadly. Like the other books in this series, The Capture is a novella but it carries explosive action. Pun intended.
