After Eden: Tek-Fall #2

Hell's Menagerie

Rate this book
Hell’s Menagerie: Tek-Fall (Episode II) is the companion novella in the After Eden science fiction and international thriller series by Austin Dragon—a dramatic mix of politics, religion, and intrigue. The sci-fi, adventure started in Episode I with the hunt for the elusive “Man Made Out of String.” But it was only the tip of the iceberg for a broader mission for the Faithers. In Episode II, they seek the “Zoo.” Monsters are being made—for war, for study, for amusement—and some have escaped into the wild. From the tek-cities of America to Spanish Australia to secret island locations all over the world, the sci-fi adventure thriller continues in the year 2093. Tek World loves the advancements of modern genetic-engineering to eliminate disease, genetic-designing to pick the traits of offspring, and body-farms to grow and replace damaged limbs and organs—and even to “perfect” the human body. But it hasn’t stopped there. There is a secret bio-tek race by rogue international alliances to create life—bizarre, amazing, and horrifying.

I was kindly contacted by Austin Dragon for a read and review on his novella! This book releases on March 30th! Thank you so much!

This story is set up as a novella just after the first two books in the series After Eden: Tek-Fall, but can be read as a stand alone. I was a bit confused in the beginning because I had not read the first two books, but that quickly went away as I got further into the story. This book is full of futurist technology, cities, and robots. The characters in this book think of themselves as gods, creating robots to resemble past people such as Hitler. These 'monsters and creatures' are being made for the war. This book follows people of many backgrounds in religion, ethnicity, as well as the politics leading up to the third world war.

It was a quick read, an interesting read and very detailed. Austin did an amazing job developing his characters as well as the world that surrounds them. I'm super happy I got a chance to read this book, I'm looking forward to picking up the first two books in the series as well as any books after this one.

Austin also has another promising book releasing on the same date as this one called Hollow Blood which is the first one in a new series. This is another one I would love to dive into!

wow just wow. Austin followed up Metal flesh with a bang. I seriously did not expect this twist in the tale. And the creatures that were created really just freaky.

this second in the after eden series will knock your socks off. You have trading of services that have caused destruction with those who want to obtain revenge getting it with a bang though there is a twist. You have the US gov’t acting cagey more than before and alliances that never thought would occur.

The offspring of the doctor are really cold hearted but the doc herself isn’t exactly a angel. Wow with that. question with these creatures out there and no one to control them what will happen.

A fast paced amazingly well written adventurous and dangerous second part to a series that is coming together with many twists and turns keeping you on your toes and wondering what is next.

This is a short but well paced story which sadly I didn't enjoy as much as I would have liked. I found the story line difficult to follow at times because it didn't always flow well from one point to the next. Of course I know this story is supposed to be far fetched and beyond the norm, but a book still needs to make you feel like it could really happen.

However, the story itself is good, and the characters are well presented enabling the reader to get a feel for their beliefs and emotions, I found Mary especially a great character, she was I guess the most believable thing in the book.

Hell's Menagerie is a novella in the dystopian world of author Austin Dragon's After Eden: Tek-Fall.

It is a fast-paced world of gray morality, where it is difficult to distinguish the 'good' guys from the 'bad'. The characters are well developed, whether it is the reluctant and ambivalent "Mother" of all bio-designed malevolence, the articulate and efficient henchman methodically putting into play the ordered mechanations of his unseen bosses, or the scientist who knowingly resists knowing that what they are actually doing is being used for ill intentions. They all come across as viable, reliable, and verifiable persons that could and do actually exist in society. It has a plausible ending for the being somewhere in the middle of an on-going story, meaning the ending answers questions within the context of its own story, but certainly sets up more questions as to what is to come in future volumes. All in all an exciting read that leaves me anticipating the future that is to come in the Tek-Fall world.

DISCLOSURE: I received an advance copy of this book at no charge from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This book is great to read. Its dark dystopian society depicts our possible future in very dark colours.

To me the book raises interesting questions related to the current state of affairs like, science vs religion, high politics disconnect with real
world, artificial intelligence and autonomous machines killing humans but
also on the treatment of clones and in the future cloned humans.

This book describes grim society where Orwellian governments and their
scientists with god complex without any ethical rules, fight over a power with the fanatical religious fractions that gladly torture, kill, conduct genocide in the name of their deity, both certain that they doing it for the good of all humanity. In this power play a new unknown player is introduced that, upset the power balance and make the former life and death rivals to cooperate to restore the status quo.

Before onetime but after another. This is part of a series and can stand ALONE because it gives enough information almost too much information. The players in this book are the “Keeper” almost a god at making robots that are clones of humans. Who has been missing for over 5 years since she destroyed the ZOO project she had created. Miss Mary another scientist not quite as good as the keeper, and several other characters that are either religious, atheist or scientists. Each character has a role to play and most are being played by another. This book tells of a time long into the future where life as we know it is beyond our comprehension and after WW 3. There was so much information I almost got bored but in the end it was a good read.
